I'm starting to develop the personal headcanon that since gardevoir and their family are amorphous, it's easy for individuals and entire groups to develop and mutate differently, hence the vast differences between not only different unrelated blog characters, but also differences between my own characters. And in doing so, I decided to show 'examples' of the more common gardevoir 'mutations' seen in various askblogs. For now I'm focusing on gardevoir, but I may do this for others of the ralts family as well. Adopting this headcanon is entirely up to you and you may even think up your own. uvu
Earfin Mutations
Earfin mutations are probably the most common and subtle way to differentiate gardevoir individuals or groups that evolved in the same area. They vary from the standard type, to the more feathery style, some are even long and droopy. Variations may be due to climate, as at least in most creatures, heat loss is concentrated in the ears-larger ears being ideal in deserts, while smaller ones in cold climates. It is uncertain why the feathery style would develop, but some think it may be a way to attract a mate.
Skirt mutations
Skirt mutations are the second most common among gardevoirs, the most common variations being the long individual flaps of skirt growing from the waist, the single 'skirt' with only a slit in the front, and the 'no skirt at all'. Shorter and longer skirts vary, though some believe that shorter skirts are more of a vanity thing, wherein brave individuals or individuals who lack a lot of nerve endings in the skirt portion simply cut them short or off completely. It is similarly believed the same for those who lack a 'natural' skirt, favoring a cloth one. In fact, some gardevoirs evolve with a complete lack of nerves in their skirts completely, causing the thing to shed off and forcing them to make a new one of fabric anyways. Others however, are in fact more sensitive and get angry when you pull their skirt skin.
Hand mutations
Hand mutations are a more subtle mutation that few even notice. The cause for variation is unknown, but it could be linked more to an individuals' hobbies and dexterity with their fingers, along with needing to grip certain things. Other theories, especially for those with only two fingers, figure that it may be a residual throwback to a gardevoir's days as a Kirlia, and was unable to 'evolve' a third finger.
Chest Horn Variation
Another subtle variation, chest horns on gardevoir can vary rather greatly-most commonly they curve gently upwards, but some may curve downward, while others jut out in a sharp manner. Since it is believed that the horn on gardevoir's chest represents their hearts, it could be reasoned that the shape of the horns vary not because of need of adaptability, but more to reflect a gardevoir's character.
Gardevoir's figure and resemblance to humans
Some gardevoirs have strongly varying figure variations, some short and willowy, while others have an, oddly enough, closer resemblance to human figures. That not only includes body shape but head shape as well. It even affects the malleability of their hair. The theory behind this is that gardevoir that are bred and raised closer to or in the captivity of humans may have a higher chance of adopting their physical characteristics. Others believe that due to their already humanoid shape, gardevoir may have actually COME from humans, and that these more 'humanoid' mutations may actually be throwbacks to this.
Other characteristic variations
Whatever may be the cause of gardevoirs' natural variations, it is agreed that a highly contributing factor is their amorphous egg group, some even thinking that the other amorphous Pokemon they breed with even contribute further to natural variations. Other recorded variations that have seen:
- Unusual colors and markings
- Varied eye sizes and shapes
- Obvious sexual dimorphism even between two gardevoir
- Varying height differences
And so on.
(( Once upon a time ago I had a Pokemon adoptable site I made many sprites for ))
(( BUT THEN IT DIED. So I was left with a ton of Pokemon scratch sprited and edited sprites with no purpose and unleashed them onto the internet. Looking at them now though I realized they could also be of use as askblog character inspirations as well. So now I share the sprites with you all here~!

By using any of these sprites you agree to credit and if possible source them. You also agree to the potential of others using them as well for their blogs, and understand that many if not all of these sprites represent a species rather than a unique individual. However you are still allowed to make a single character based on these sprites above so long as they are not played out nor surprised when they meet another of their kind that looks like them (i/e: another blog using the same sprites/designs).
That said have fun using these ))
(( Have fun ))
(( Feel free to use for askblogs and stuff. ))
Just a cute little dress up game to make a clefairy of your own.
(( A little dressup game I just finished, I figured some Pokemon ask/RP blogs might find some use from it or inspiration. ))

More expressions will be coming for this sprite along with shiny, stay tuned.

Second set for the female gardevoir image set, shiny edition~! Free to all ask and roleplay blogs to use and edit however they please~!
Pardon the lack of updates, but I had a convention right after I started this blog I had to go to, and then right after that work started again.
But I return with the gifts of portraits-! Here's a set of a female gardevoir for all to enjoy and use as they see fit for their blogs. I will also soon edit up a shiny version of her.
Also for those with male gardevoirs, worry not, for a male/gender neutral gardevoir set will be coming right up.
Also don't forget any portraits posted are also free to edit too.
Could you do a Kirlia, please?
Onto the list it goes~

Gallade is now on the list, thank you
Eevee Portrait lineart, I will be making more portraits with color and different emotions, but this is for in case anyone else wants to edit and color just the plain lineart.
