are we doing favorite wasps? because I haven't been able to stop thinking about Megarhyssa macrurus since I saw a video of one drilling. also a big fan of Thyreodon atricolor. or tarantula hawk wasps. or really any thread waisted wasp. or any wasp at all...

i am always open to favorite wasps or any sort of invert time everyone is always welcome to share their favorites

YESSSS im such a huge fan of ichneumonid wasps in general the way they function and their life cycles are so so so cool, the aesthetics of them are top notch as well, classy animal, both very stylish choices

I also adore thread waisted wasps and their long ovipositors, especially when you can see that membranous bit on them and if anyone has interest in megarhyssa macrurus and how they bore thru wood and the mechanisms of it check this out (just scroll down)

I would also like to give some love to the little oddballs like our friend the baeus genus, which are not unlike beans but alive

my favorite wasps are polistes fuscatus what are yours

OHH YESSS those are so gorgeous and their social behavior is so interesting especially when it comes to recognizing members of their colony!

My personal favorite polistes wasp is polistes carolina! For very similar reasons I love their social behavior and also I'm familiar with them so I have a soft spot!

Though my favorite was overall might be the humble ensign wasp/ evania appendigaster! I love the flagging gesture they do with their abdomen and their overall shape is so beautiful and strange to me, they're really cute and it always makes me happy when I see them :D

My actual first attack of the year on @crocadoodledo of the lovely penelope, a quilt maker, and the creature (from the Frankenstein novel)! I really felt compelled by her occupation in respect to origins and also just felt so drawn by the designs themselves! Very cool person with very cool art!

First batch of artfight attacks, im going to be posting these not quite in order but by what groups the best for posting lol So without further ado! Minnow for @tiredtiredbughunter ! What a cool sona, i absolutely love his bristleworm tail and the really cool mix of features with the binturong :D Had to include some of my favorite insects to share w someone who also loves entomology, yipee!

Creampuff for @xparkrangerx ! I had a really pleasant time drawing her, she has a really nice design and the heart motif is just so cute! Very pleasant and easy to work with colors too :)

Drop for @rainbowteefdoodles ! Wanted to do something more moody for this fella, and more cool toned than i usually tend to do! I think it was pretty successful perhaps
