is this that new star wars trio
Person 1: “Okay, I’ll meet you guys out there in a second.”
Both: “Okay.”
Person 1: “Hey, babe- “
Both: “Yeah?”
[silence]
Person 1: “Nevermind?”
Person 2: “You sure, babe?”
"Write polyamory, not love triangles!"
What this doesn’t mean: “Take a bunch of immature, poorly-communicating, monogamous-by-default characters and force them into polyamory.”
What it means: “Write characters who know/learn how to effectively communicate, and who want to be in polyamorous relationships.”
I’m so tired of people saying polyamory can’t replace love triangles because most characters are mono and couldn’t handle it…like, the whole point is we want better, more diverse characters!

POLYAMORY POST. YASSSSS

To the anon who isn't satisfied with the term "boyfriend"-- what about paramour?
This is a good option!
Hi!! Love and appreciate ya blog so much! I'm in an open relationship and I am really unsatisfied with the term "boyfriend" to describe my guy. are there any terms that when I'm talking to someone i can reference him as my "boyfriend" but a term that suggests it being open?
I have no idea sorry! Hopefully someone might see this and have a better idea.Personally I try to use ‘one of my partners’ but that sounds like it wouldn’t quite fit your situation. Alternatively I’ve seen datefriend/ datemate as a gender neutral term for a partner which you might be able to use because people might ask and you can clarify what that means for you. But maybe that’s appropriative. Sorry I can’t be of more help
I wish there were more love songs for poly relationships
lets make some

“Be Honest” by Jason Mraz, too.
Just found your blog n I think it's awesome! Currently in a semi-closed triad (while one partner is finishing her degree LD from us she's dating whom she pleases but plans on closing it when she moves back) n it's great to find people in the ethically non-monogamous community! But I have a teensy thing to chime in: I've heard that "Poly" is an abbrv. for Polynesian people n that us polyamorous people should use "polyam" instead. Hope you take that into consideration, keep being awesome ;D
I am familiar with this issue and unfortunately I just haven’t had the time/spoons to invest in changing tags etc. yet. You keep being awesome yourself
I'm pregnant in a closed triad and I love them both so much. But one partner is away often and for long periods of time. This wouldn't be problematic but the other, who's company I've been primarily in, is not at all a sexual being, where as I very much am. We're all very new to the lifestyle, I want to discuss opening my needs to include finding a sexual partner when I need to but am afraid of hurting everybody... I haven't had sex in almost 3 mos and I'm feeling desperate, idk what to do
I think it’s definitely okay to talk to them about it. In the long term denying your needs is far more likely to hurt people. I know it’s scary when it’s new but when you all work together and are open with each other it’s possible to find something that works for everyone
So my friend asked me and my partners (8 of us, all involved with each other, 5 of us living together; its fuckin great) that 'aren't you all just being really selfish?' but like Do You Realize How Unselfish You Have To Be To Be Involved With 7 Other People Do Not Get Me Started
That does sound great! Hopefully your friend will see that
I'm sorry I'm spamming your blog. Yours is the first really good poly blog I've stumbled upon thus far and I love what you post :)
No worries. Getting a sudden influx of notes always brings a smile to my face
Poly pearls are my favorite kind of pearls ♡
Hello! I'm a confused queer girl. I don't think I can do the traditional relationship, and I can def be with two or more people at once, and form ties, but what exactly would be a checklist to poly? Because idk, and casual dating and monogamous relationships sound like I'm settling for the norm. idk. Help? Thanks!
Well unfortunately there is no checklist. If you’re interested in finding out more about polyamory then obviously tumblr is a great place with tonnes of people talking about their experiences. There are of course also books like More Than Two and The Ethical Slut, not to mention cool webcomics like Kimchi Cuddles and the Feeling is Multiplied. If you are interested in ‘being poly’ then that’s a lot more of a personal experience. For me I was just lucky and know/meet people who happened to be poly as well. But don’t be too worried about me calling it luck, because it’s more that like minded people tend to find each other. Like there seems to be a strong correlation with nerdy people, kinky people and lgbt+ people. The kind of people who already don’t fit in societal norms. If you’re old enough and want to start actively looking for people then I’ve heard good things about OK Cupid. I also know people who have had success with Tinder (it’s about as hit and miss as Tinder always is). And if you are into kink then some people do recommend fet life although I think that varies widely based on where you live. Facebook groups also exist, you can search for a local poly group or if you’re in a queer facebook group then try posting there and see if anyone else is poly. In conclusion, keep living your life and meeting interesting people and you’ll probably end up doing polyamory just fine :)
Benefits of poly
There’s more than one person to call you on your shit, which helps you deal with yourself and grow
Polyamorous Prosaurolophus has or is open to having a romantic relationship with two or more knowledgable, consenting individuals. This hadrosaur knows that their way of experiencing love isn’t about sex or promiscuity, but instead is about building a relationship based on trust, commitment and honesty - your desire to share your love and life with more than one person is an integral part of your identity and your emotional needs, and the relationships that come from it deserve the same kind of validation and respect afforded to those of monogamous individuals.
Named because of its ancestry to Saurolophus, this late Cretaceous herbivore is distinguished by its small crest of solid bone, formed by the backward extension of the nasal bones in front of its eyes.
