I got bored and made a list of my favorite parts of this year. GOOD TIMES FROM 2012: Having my giant pieces of art in downtown Transmet for a month. Checking out the 'From Picasso to Warhol' exhibit at the High (Warhol screen tests = yes!). Recording/releasing the Ye Olde Sub Shoppe album. Recording/releasing the debut Helen Scott EP! Exploring New Orleans (especially the abandoned, overgrown Six Flags) and spending quality time with some of my mother's side of the family. Enjoying a couple days of spring in VT, including a proper bonfire at The Farm (one of my uncles on my mom's side runs the family farm - which is a whole other story - but really 'The Farm' refers to my grandmother's farmhouse, the barn, the tiny playground and mini sandpit by the barn, the corn stand, and all the cornfields surrounding the property). Running around Montreal with some of my Fontaine cousins (mom's side, again). Getting hit on by a stockbroker; eating salmon on a bagel the next morning. Running my first ever 5K - it was a painful experience, but ultimately I'm glad I did it. Playing AthFest for the first time. Playing two Helen Scott sets in one night (Slop Fest/going away party for the Colbert-Taylors). Playing every Helen Scott show, really, especially playing at the Caledonia and 40 Watt... Seeing OTC at the Georgia Theatre. Watching/drinking to The Room for the first time. Living 'Mansion Life' for a couple days in North Carolina - getting to know newer friends and catching up with old friends. Also, hot tub. Getting the dandelions tattoo in honor of my 26th birthday. Getting my first acoustic guitar for Christmas! Visiting Frostburg, MD, and Raleigh, NC for the holidays - family board games, sooooo much food, and lots of time to curl up and read. 2012 also involved a lot of revelations, wavering efforts toward self-improvement, some success and some failure, and a lot of cuddling with cats. There are moments I'd trade in if I could, but I can't, so, moving on...
