today i woke up looked out the window and observed that i am alive and one day won't be and that is what it is all about

The Spark Of Joy

the spark of joy the feeling of having a handle of things reigning in feigning exhaustion to look cool focus on the goal the moment of clarity nostalgia  old ideas anew rediscovering one self and going home

It’s Been This Long

it’s been this long, huh? has life really been that busy? what’s the excuse this time? isn’t the world still in stand-still? even stopped turning for a while didn’t it? so what kept you from showing up?

hyper-focus a few seconds at a time laser-sharp eyesight down the phone a couch so comfortable you would never believe it’s really been that long, huh?

A Raging Toothache

a raging toothache an incredible amount of noise upstairs a black eye and thoughts of vengeance

disfigurement via dissatisfaction point and shoot laser off mistakes give me soup i can barely open my mouth

Is This The Year?

is this the year? the one where i finally get my act together? start going to school again? read a book? or get a decent job for once? maybe i quit drinking? perhaps even smoking? and for good this time? or is this just another date in another calendar in another year  out of the few ones that i have left?

Will I Know When It’s Over?

will i know when it’s over will there be someone to knock on the door and tell me to move on

or is the pitch black really the void  that we fear and dread

Through It All

it’s a struggle to get through it all before the day is gone before the clock resets and i have to try to do all again

A Rocking Chair

a rocking chair a carpeted floor a growling tummy hungry for more

Locked In

Locked in streets are empty the howling wind the hail

a lone cat stood still noticed that it was noticed and took off

Entropy It Up

get the ball rolling get the car going welcome the cacophony enjoy the the ride entropy it up burst those bubbles blow them socks off

crack open a bottle of champagne before completing your task

What Now?

what now? does it just go on? continue forever? is there an end to this? just out of sight perhaps?

there has to be

just say the magic words commence it forth be of it get it over with

lose control lose track of time lose way of life waste away the hours

just say the magic words and regain consciousness

Slowest Of The Slow

in a hurry the slowest of the slow only five more minutes and you’re free

but you’re late you’re always late you were always late

she’s right there a few feet away undercover and about to leave

was it you or I? who makes the first move? what did we agree on? I can’t remember anymore nothing empty void no ...
