Matsui Rena will appear next week in NHK World Japan Railway Journal, for an episode focusing on The Secret of Operating Preserved Steam Locomotives (online Oct. 9th) Outline : In Japan, regions operating preserved steam locomotives benefit from vital boosts to the local economy. Discover the secrets behind making these historic workhorses invaluable tourist attractions, and how the practice is gaining popularity. Then meet the experts whose supreme skills preserve the precious boilers and maintain the engines, and see the 300 years of tradition behind the manufacture of a unique shovel specifically designed to efficiently scoop coal. Also, a special guest joining us this time is Rena Matsui, a successful former member of the popular idol group SKE48, and now she is pursuing her career as an actor. An online program, in English and that we can all watch legally. Don’t miss it!ヽ(´ー`)ノ
Here’s the link where you can watch: http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/tv/japanrailway/201510010600/
It will be available next Friday on NHK World website on the page I’ve linked. Just need to be patient :3
FukuDuu’s embarrassing moment ♥
So, what if, instead of thinking about solving your whole life, you just think about adding additional good things. One at a time. Just let your pile of good things grow.

Matsui Rena’s international fans graduation project : start!
Same as the birthday project conducted before, I’ll collect messages from fans and paste them on cards I have prepared. However, since I’m collaborating with her birthday committee this time, I had to made smaller cards (business card size 8,5 x 5,5 cm). So please keep in mind to keep your message short. Short but meaningful! Also, as I have less time, I will be collecting those messages only.
But if there are fans among you who want to congratulate Rena for her graduation through arts/drawing/photo etc, fear not! A fellow frog, Saitsuki, kindly proposed to take care of them and collect them in an album that we will deliver to Rena.
Special mention for Indonesian fans : For Rena birthday project almost 1/3rd of the submissions I received were from Indonesian fans. Seeing how important is your fan community and how little time I have, I asked Rafael, the person who collected nearly 30 messages from fellow Indonesian fans for the birthday project, if he was willing to run an independent project for Rena’s graduation. And he said yes. I had a great experience interacting with all the Indonesians fans for the birthday project and I could really feel all your love for Rena through your messages and arts, so it’s not that I don’t want to collaborate with you guys! It’s just that I need to lighten my burden if I want to make sure I’m able to manage this project + work + life. I hope you understand. And I’m sure Rafael will do a great job too!
So, let’s sum up the important points for Matsui Rena Graduation project :
Messages (fitting on 8,5x5,5cm or 3~4 A4 lines and in English or Japanese only) : to be sent at [email protected]
Arts, drawing, photos etc : to be sent at [email protected] (details here)
Deadline for arts/pictures : August 1st 00:00 JST
Deadline for messages : August 15th 00:00 JST
Indonesians fans : please contact [email protected] (also on twitter) (details here)
Please mention your name and which country you’re from when submitting your art or message.
Don’t miss this chance to say goodbye to Rena! Or congratulate her! Or confe– (((( \*°^°)/
Edit : In case you want to send both message and art : if your message is included in your art/picture, on the same page, then it’s fine to send it to Saitsuki. As long as it’s one same document to print. If however your message is not in the picture itself, please send it to me. I’ll take care of pasting it on the message card for Rena.
First pics I catch of Mae Nomeri performance (since I was partying basically all day and night yesterday *cof*) and seeing Rena having a path made for her by the girls all the way to the front, with J and Nao (!!! YES) flanking her is making me suddenly very emotional. (* ; ^ ;)
He is too innocent for this world
I audibly gasped when the puppy looked into the camera
o-ohhh….. look…look at him…
Matsui Rena Birthday Project 2015 (NOT a graduation project)
Rena is turning 24 on July 27th. It will be her last birthday as an SKE48 member, probably the last one us fan can celebrate with her in the way the theater allows it, so let’s make it count!
I’ve discussed with Rena seitan committee how they planned on conduct the birthday project now that Rena had announced her graduation and it was decided both project would run separately. Therefore, I will conduct a graduation fan project too (anyone wanting to help, please contact me) but later.
What exactly is this birthday project? The main objective of this project is for all the foreign fans to be able to congratulate Rena for her birthday and for their messages to reach her. To achieve this, I’ll collect all the messages you’ll send me. Put them in a nice album. Ship it to Rena seitan committee, who will give it to management before Rena seitan stage so that she receives it (after inspection) the D day.
How do we proceed? I’ve bought an album and what’s left to do is fill it with all your love for Rena! (\*°^° )/ To make things easier, I’ve prepared a card anyone can fill.
Usually in Japan fans fill them during HS events but this project being international (and I suppose only few of you feel like coming all the way to my pond to write your message directly!) we will have to find another way.
In concrete terms, you can either : - send me via mail ([email protected]) the birthday message you want on the card, I’ll paste it on the card, print it, put it in the album. Easy, takes 2 seconds. - if you absolutely want Rena to see your beautiful handwriting but don’t want to pay for a stamp, you can scan your message to me. I’ll clean the scan, past your message on the card, print it, and put it in the album.
What if…? - If the card I prepared isn’t to your taste or if you prefer to make your own, no problem! Make yours! This album is yours, it’s something we should fill with everyone’s feelings and there are million ways of expressing them. -“I want to add a photo! And a drawing! And [add here anything that can be printed and add to the album]” Do it! If you want your page to be decorated in any specific way, it’s A ok. Send me the file and I’ll print it on a sheet of clear adhesive sticker paper, paste it and hop! Done. For information the size of the album is roughly 25x24cm.
I don’t aim at making a consistent album. You can take 2 seconds of your time to write the simplest of messages, or work a whole week on your own card and give me 50 instructions on how you want your page to be, both are perfectly valid. What matters is that Rena knows, can see and feel she has fans all around the world who want to wish her happy birthday, one last time as an idol.
Important When submitting your message, or your own card, don’t forget to mention your name (or the pseudonym you want me to put in the album), age and gender if you want, and where you’re from.
All messages must be in English.
Submissions to be sent at : [email protected]
Deadline : July 7th 2015 If you have any question, don’t hesitate to contact me.

(Graduation・ω・Announcement)
Rena speaking.
The other day I announced my graduation during All Night Nippon. It was still unofficial then, but now details for the graduation concert have been released.
Matsui Rena.SKE48 Graduation Concert in Toyota Stadium ~2588 DAYS~
2015 August 30th (Sunday)
Aichi pref. Toyota Stadium
To think the day has come when a concert title bears my name… I don’t think I have words to express how that make me feel (laughs) That kind of things tend to embarrass me. It will be my graduation concert but also our first live in a large venue since a long time. Nagoya Dome maybe? Or am I forgetting something? But that’s at least how it feels to me. So that’s why for you all, members, staffs and myself, I want this concert to be the most enjoyable one ever. I don’t want it to be gloomy. I want to leave with a smile, make this concert so fun that laughters will echo in the stadium. You think it’s not like me, right? Still I want everyone to smile. Even if they are smiling through their tears.
It may be a farewell to Matsui Rena the idol, but I’m hoping you’ll be looking forward to meet a new me. I’m not asking for everyone to follow me. I’m content with the thought that hopefully someday, years later and it will take the time it needs, I’ll be in a place that brings everyone to recognize the choice I make today is the right one. That’s probably the best repayment I could offer to the people supporting me. (laugh)
And as I say that, I believe I’ll remain who I am no matter what, so I’m just being a pain to deal with as usual. And I’m happy that there are people saying they like me despite that.
That’s why I want everyone to come and see me. Let’s laugh together, let’s make great memories.
8/30
I’ll be waiting for you. I’ll be waiting for you praying for the weather to be good by making tons of teruteru bouzu.
I’ve spent approximatively 1/3 of my life here after all. So yeah, I want to make this moment exceptional.
Rena —- Smiling through the tears… 2 months left to master that trick. Hmm! ( >x<)
