i just thought about yul/nick/wendell/sophie running the game the same way dom/wendell/don/laurel did in ghost island...what can i say i love legends

the best part about doing all winners is that everyone is so paranoid so out of context it looks like nobody’s played the game before lmao

rob and parvati the two biggest threats are running the tribe yup that’s history

THIS was survivor in top form:

-a reminder that these are humans and not just characters, opening up a conversation about race in the united states, and how we can educate others instead of simply shaming them

-intense immunity challenge with those one-shot advantages that actually work out quite nicely

-the parallel between elaine’s IOI visit about jumping too quickly into an opportunity, and too quickly telling aaron about her advantage (and multiple red herrings as a result)

-whispering at tribal council and more actual visceral moments about what the game means to these people

-that parallel to the beginning of the show about struggles with power and assumptions translate from the real world back into survivor just in time to conclude with the lairo v. vokai war at tribal

-all in 42 minutes

my preseason prediction to compare to the actual outcome (ignore the jury part lol and this is my formal apology to lauren AND i was technically accurate about chris)

building the social connections to stay 39 days after being good in comps and NEVER recieving a vote is more impressive than giving up your immunity after being absent for 2/3 of the game

okay my opinions are bouncing around a lot because the finale was super unpredictable, but gavin deserves to win the game

NOTE: this does not change the fact that the edge of extinction/any iteration of redemption island is terrible for the game and people who fail at the most fundamental part of the game (avoid getting voted out) don’t deserve a second chance in the same season
