Anime is just Japanese animation….kpop is just Korean pop music…Bollywood is a very large movie industry in North India, like Hollywood. I can really go on and on with this but the way white people overgeneralize these industries  as if they’re one subculture/genre or homogenous and aren’t just an aggregation of creations of whole regions and countries with much variation and diversity is so fucking annoying tbh.

Certain people in the notes are trying to argue that Kpop is a subculture because of the fandom and I just want to say that the way the (western) fandom acts is exactly the kind of shit I’m talking about. The way white kpop fans treat Korean fashion and culture like a commodity and subculture and create a stereotype for what Korean culture and pop is is a problem! That is the whole point of this post! That is a clear example of white people treating the industries of entire Asian regions/countries like a genre/subculture/etc!
