sorry I've not been here as of late @u@ I've just had a Yuma-block which has hopefully been lifted. .
school and stuff is really limiting me, what with my normal exams on top of retakes D; so my creativity is low (not that I was creative in the first place derp)

Yuuma shook his head lightly. âThat match was way too close! And Gauche is a pretty tough opponent. Not anyone could beat him, let alone get as close as you did!â Even when Yuuma had won the match against him and Droite, he had struggled. The boy shuddered lightly at the thought. It was too close.
âMe?â Yuuma was sure that he hadnât given Fuuya any tips on acting. He didnât even express any interest in acting; that was Fuuyaâs forte! âIf you think itâs easier, itâs probably down to you! You mustâve gotten more confident or something!â He gave Fuuya a thumbs-up, flashing him a grin.
âWell I.. I suppose youâre right in that sense. What I mean is that I donât dread working as much as I used to. I could.. never really stand up for myself before I met you. But now I feel like I can be my own person.â
Fuuya smiled at the fond memory, before blinking and snapping out of his reverie with his usual bout of modesty and embarrassment.
âI-I mean, if that makes any sense. I suppose Iâm not really much for explaining such things, since Iâve never had to, a-and..â
Fuuya had half a mind to put his hand over his mouth if it would shut his rambling up. It was a habit that came about when he felt like he was being put on the spot, and it often caused more embarrassment than he had hoped to cover up.
Yuuma almost shook his head in disagreement. He couldn't have done that, could he? The one Fuuya should be thanking was Yuuma's father, the one who spread kattobingu in the first place. Even so, without the right attitude, kattobingu was just a word.
"You were always your own person," Yuuma interrupted, feeling that now would be a good time to avoid forcing Fuuya into a stammering, blushing mess, "you just needed something to help you realize! You can do anything, you just gotta know it first."
He offered the other boy a bright smile, "at least you're enjoying work a lot more, huh? When I get older, I wanna be just like you, and get paid for doing things I like, too."Â If I ever work, Yuuma found himself adding. He couldn't imagine himself doing anything but dueling.

Yuma glanced to the side, shifting nervously. He knew who IV was; it was slightly uncomfortable to think about him. Even so, that shouldn't stop him from a friend-making attempt -- right?
"You're IV, right?" Yuma gave a lazy wake and a bright grin. "I've never got a chance to speak to you properly! I'm Yuma Tsukumo!"
Yuma's eyes brightened up at the sight. "Shark!" He was excited, as always, especially as one of his personal friends was involved. "Hey, I almost didn't see you there! You can't get away from me," he teased, his tongue poking from his lips.
âAnyone wouldâve been worried,â Yuma pleaded, âthat guyâs crazy! Who knows what kind of stuff he gets up to?â The boy shook his head, distracting himself of any possibilities. Anyone would be worried if someone was stuck around that guy.
Shark winced at the thought. âI would rather not find outâŚâ He was more then just crazy, and thatâs what scared him.
"We won't have to hang around him any more, though, right?" Yuma's expression was hopeful, assuming that he would be right. By Shark's tone, he figured he didn't like the guy. It was pretty obvious.

Yuumaâs brows slowly knotted in the middle of his face - he couldnât understand why someone would cancel a duel with Fuuya, or anyone. He had seen the boy duel Gauche, and he was a worthy opponent, even if he lost. It was close! So it wasnât that Fuuya wasnât good.
âMaybe youâre just too good for them,â Yuuma suggested, âtheyâre scared youâll beat them!â Even so, Yuuma couldnât understand why someone would be scared of losing a match. He had lost plenty, himself, so maybe he wasnât on the same mental level as most other duelists. But Yuuma was sure that losing helped you evolve and learn. Maybe those guys just didnât want to learn.
âBut you still have fun acting, right?â Yuuma presumed Fuuya would enjoy talking about his work. âIt must be fun being a superhero!â
âOh no, that couldnât be it,â Fuuya said with modesty. âI mean, after Gauche beat me in the WDC, donât you think people would think that dueling me would be an easy win?â
Fuuya shook his head- He was often very hard on himself on the few occasions he got a duel to lose. He didnât think much of it though. He knew dueling wasnât really his forte.
âActing is the same as itâs always been. Easier, I suppose, b-but I have you to thank for that, Yuuma!â

His mind turned to the one subject that mattered most. âGreat to meet you, Rio! Are you a duelist?â
Seeing that this was the Yuma he heard so much about, Rio smiled. âNice to meet you as well, Yuma.â Looking at the boy for a moment, Rio couldnât help but notice the pendant he was wearing⌠The Emperorâs Key. Being brought back to reality from Yumaâs question, Rio quickly responded, âOh! Yes, I dueled before I went into the hospital. Iâd still love to, but Ryoga tells me I shouldnât duel so soon since I just left the hospital.â Sighing, he really wanted to see how good Yuma was. After all, he beat Shark in a duel, he must be tough.Â
So, he dueled! Just like Shark! Yuma wondered if he was as good as his brother. Maybe he was even better! There was only one way to find out -- it was a shame that Shark had told him not to.
"I guess that makes sense," Yuma pouted, shoving his hands in his pockets and kicking at the ground. Maybe, if he looked pitiful enough, Rio would give in and humor him. "But Shark wouldn't have to know." Yuma sighed, tilting his head back. "It's such baaad luck that you can't do it, though!" Hopefully, it would work. There wouldn't be anything bad about dueling, anyway! Shark was worrying for nothing.
Squinting, Yuma couldnât quite make out who this guy was. But he looked familiar; like he could have been related to someone. Maybe he was Todorokiâs secret brother! âHey, Iâm Yuma!â The boy beamed at the other, âWhatâs your name?â
Rio turned around and saw someone he had never met before, but he seemed oddly familiar. âOh, hello.â Hearing the name of the boy⌠Yuma Tsukumo, that name he had definitely heard before. âIâm Rio Kamishiro. I think you know my brother, Ryoga.â He said, waiting to see if this was the correct âYumaâ Shark mentioned.Â
Ryoga? Yuma knew that name. He chewed on his lip for a moment, gears turning in his head, before the 'eureka' moment finally hit him. Shark! Shark had a brother-- he mentioned that, didn't he? "Shark? Yeah, we're good friends!" The boy nodded, pretty excited to meet someone related to Shark. Maybe he was as cool as Shark was. His mind turned to the one subject that mattered most. "Great to meet you, Rio! Are you a duelist?"

Yumaâs once-bright grin melted into a calmer smile. So, it had worked! Yuma knew that, if he persisted, Shark would be his friend. It had all paid off.
Breaking the barrier of personal space further, the boy threw his arm around Sharkâs shoulder. âIâd be worried about you, too!â
Shark gingerly grabbed Yumaâs wrist, pulling the otherâs arm off of his shoulder, and took a step back. âI noticed. Back at the duel against Dr. Faker.â The one thing he couldnât forget, how Yuma had reacted to his injury.
"Anyone would've been worried," Yuma pleaded, "that guy's crazy! Who knows what kind of stuff he gets up to?" The boy shook his head, distracting himself of any possibilities. Anyone would be worried if someone was stuck around that guy.

Squinting, Yuma couldn't quite make out who this guy was. But he looked familiar; like he could have been related to someone. Maybe he was Todoroki's secret brother! "Hey, I'm Yuma!" The boy beamed at the other, "What's your name?"

Yuma hesitated a moment. He remembered just how crazy this girl was; how could he forget? Even so, he didn't dislike her.
"Hey," he smiled and waved regardless, "hey! It's been a long time, huh?"

âSomeone else, huh? That must be pretty fun.â Yuuma gave a brief nod, contemplating seeing Fuuya on another TV show, or a guest in D.D. ESPer Robin. It would be a good thing if Fuuya went on more shows, wouldnât it?
âBut if you get bored of acting and stuff,â Yuuma proposed, attempting to be nonchalant, âyou could always get into dueling. Youâre not bad! Maybe you can be my sidekick!â The boy laughed to himself, amused with the image of Fuuya as a sidekick as opposed to the hero.
But, to be honest, out of the two boys, Yuuma could only envision himself as the leading role.
Fuuya snickered- It would be interesting to be the sidekick for once, that was for sure. Of course, it seemed like he would be anyway, what with Yuumaâs generally forward approach to everything and Fuuyaâs more tentative view.
âWell, I have tried a few times to attend a couple of tournaments, but for some reason, almost everyone Iâve tried dueling has forfeited! Itâs actually really bizarre.â
Of course Fuuya had a vague idea as to why matches were thrown so often. People would rather get an autograph than a title as a duel champion.

The boyâs smile grew and spread wide across his face. If Shark had asked how he was, it really meant one thing.

You seemed pretty tired after the duel with Dr. Faker.â He felt inclined to ask, since the boy literally passed out after he dueled Kaito. Shark just wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong with him.
