i saw your post about flaky's gender and i 100% agree. there's enough ambiguity in the design and some behind-the-scenes discussion that show the different readings have persisted in the fandom but i find it so... flattening? to make flaky simply cis when the developers gave you enough hints as to why that might be more complicated.

cishet people have a history of erasing queer characters' queerness to fit their gender binary, the most recent example I can give is kris's wiki page.

there is not a single reason why kris, a canon nonbinary character's pronouns need that many sources other than the 1 time. they're being purposefully misgendered by cishet fans and having their queerness erased to (usually) fit a male binary.

in flaky's case they're being put into a female binary and hyperfeminized just so cishet fans don't have to deal with the queer implications when shipping them with male characters instead of y'know...giving a shit about the 3 canon girls in the whole show

Any romantic relationship flaky is in is going to be queer regardless if they're with a guy or girl, and it sucks that when they're paired with a guy, most people will draw them in feminine clothes exclusively

I don't get when some people depict flippy liking flaky, but flaky like someone else (usually nutty) it never commits to them give them an answer. they can't confirm or deny if they like flaky back, because if they do that sucks for flippy, and if they don't, flaky is forced by the narrative to settle for flippy even though they don't like being around him

there are never scenes of flaky finding things they like about flippy because he's usually groveling at their feet begging to go out with them, but we always see why flippy likes flaky and it's surface level at best

They give flaky genuinely good reasons to not like flippy , but will not take it seriously because he loves them and would never hurt them specifically effectively isolating them from their friends because they're a threat to their relationship
