Despite everything that had happened in town lately, and in his personal life, it was impossible for Adam not to smile around his sister. He cursed himself for not going to see her more often, but also knew she was a lot more busy than him, and he didn’t want to be a burden. “That’s good. How’s the ER?” He asked. “I’m good, I’m good. I just, uh, overwhelmed about everything lately, you know?”
Poppy could sense when something wasn’t right with her brother. Even despite the fact that they didn’t see each other nearly as much as they used to. Seeing him now made her realise that she’d missed him, a lot. “It’s okay. It’s the same, really. I show up, I go home,” she shrugged. “Yeah. Yeah, I know. You should come see me, if things too overwhelming. I’m always here,” she leaned across, and held his hand before placing a quick kiss on his cheek. “I always will be.”
