Late nights finding clues with Robin.
Stranger things alternative plotline S5
A summary of an alternative S5 plotline that I’ve been thinking up.
PT. 1
With the world literally split in two, the gang is trying its hardest to scour the upside down for Vecna — to no avail.
Meanwhile, Eleven and Will have been having eerily realistic dreams of fields of green grass, cicadas chirping, an old wood barn and a mysterious girl inviting them to ‘find us, we can help you’.
It doesn’t take them long to figure out they’re dreaming about the same place, and the same person. Amidst the continual failure of their recognisance missions in the upside down, Will questions if their plan is the right one. The dreams feel so real…what if they aren’t dreams at all? What if this girl is real and she really can help us?
Eleven dons her blindfold in what seems like an insane bid for hope. However, it’s not long before she finds the mysterious girl, who is able to see her too. ‘I’m impressed you were able to find me this way. You must be as strong as I’ve heard’ she says, warmly.
In answer to Elevens questions about who she is and how she’s been in her dreams, the girl simply replies ‘there are more of us than you think, Eleven’. Before severing the connection she gives her a clue about the location of the ranch. ‘Don’t wait too long, he’s getting stronger everyday’. She disappears in a cloud of dust— thrusting Eleven back to reality.
‘So she knew about Vecna?’ Will asks, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously. Eleven recounts the clue, and says they should tell the others so they can help them find the ranch.
In the radio station basement the others stare at Eleven and Will as they fill them in on the discovery. ‘You found someone who was in your dreams?’ Mike asks. Eleven nods. A variety of reactions ripple through the room, from amazement to disbelief. ‘We need to go to the ranch’ Eleven urges determinedly.
Hopper interjects, ‘what we need to do is stick to our plan —our sane plan— that will find Vecna and keep you safe’. Eleven goes to fight him on this, but sees the discouragingly reluctant faces of everyone else in the room. She looks to Mike, who shrugs in agreement with Hopper. ‘I don’t know El, this really could work’ he points to the map on the wall, ‘we just need more time- I mean, even if the girl in your dreams is real’ Eleven interjects ‘she is real’. Mike continues ‘-right, well even then, how do we know it’s not a trap?’.
Everyone agrees to keep to their original plan and for Eleven to lay low in the meantime.
That is until the night Holly is taken by Vecna…
