“Because…” Kate frowned, eyebrows furrowing as she unclipped Lucky to let him run into the kitchen for water, “you’re… with me.”

“I could have been forcing you to bring me in the building. Or coming with you under the guise of being your friend,” Yelena explained with an exaggerated sigh. “And then the second we get alone…”

Kate waited, swallowing down all the things she wished Yelena was about to suggest. “What?” she finally asked.

“I kill you.”
