I just found your account and I am blown away by your pieces. These are all absolutely extraordinary, and I must say that I'm sorry that your incredible art style has been stolen and used most often by AI
Please never lose your passion ā¤ļø
Hi anon ^^
Thank you so much for joining the party and enjoying my work! Itās really kind of you to take the time to leave a comment. š
Iām sorry your incredible art style has been stolen and is so often used by AI.Ā
It started really early, you know. I was already finding Bucky fan art on Pinterest that was veeeery close to my style (but with weird textures and shading), and I quickly realized they were AI-generated images. They were almost certainly made by feeding my work from The Life of Bucky Barnes (my Steve/Bucky side account) into models like MidJourney. š
Thatās life, I guess. š Thereās not much you can do about it, and I donāt think tools like Glaze help all that much. Even if I protect my new pieces, I have a huge back catalogue that can already be used to train these machines. Enjoy the feast, Nano Banana! šš
To be honest, the fact that my work gets fed into AI isnāt even the worst part for me. What really gets to me is that people are now calling my art AI, including pieces from TWO THOUSAND AND SIXTEEN. š Usually when someone accuses me, I just sigh, explain that itās not AI, show my old works, share process shots, etc. Most people are understanding, but sometimes you end up arguing with people who know nothing about digital art. And theyāre often younger than my DeviantArt accountā¦Itās getting exhausting in the long run, and I have a feeling this is only the beginning. š¤
On top of that, my style seems to be exactly what AI loves to copy. Not to mention that my inspirations for this kind of work (like here, here and here) are artists such as John Singer Sargent and Waterhouseā¦the very same artists AI is trained heavily on. So, at the end of the day, I study these masters, AI studies them too, and it also steals from me. The result? My art looks like AIā¦or AI looks like my art. I donāt even know anymore. š¤ā āMy art looking like it was made by a robotā definitely wasnāt on my bingo card when I started my Tumblr in 2010.
So even when kind people like you tell me not to ālose my passionā, itās hard not to wonder sometimes⦠what for?
AI can almost do what I do now, and a lot of normies (Iām using ānormiesā without any condescension here) genuinely canāt tell the difference. Theyāll call a piece AI even if I spent ten hours on it. They canāt fathom that you can achieve these textures and this level of realism by drawing from scratch in Photoshop or Rebelle. Itās draining, and it makes you question whether you should change your style⦠even though AI will probably copy the new one too. š¤ No style is safe anymore. People think AI only copies Ghibli, Artgerm, or 19th-century paintings? Nope. This shit copies everything, from childrenās drawings to medieval manuscripts to obscure artists with two pieces hanging in a suburban Nagoya gallery. Weāre fucked. šš¤
Iām not the only one feeling this way. Itās becoming harder and harder for artists because people now constantly demand proof like videos, tutorials, the whole thing. I really dislike this atmosphere of constant suspicion, and for three main reasons:
Itās often just a roundabout way of getting free resources. Many artists put WIPs and tutorials behind a Patreon paywall, so demanding āproofā is basically asking for paid content for free.
From what Iāve heard from anime artists on Twitter, some people ask for tutorials specifically to feed AI video models so they can generate fake step-by-step processes and trick others into thinking their work isnāt AI. The more you know, I was BAFFLED when I heard thisā¦š A lot of these people charge for commissions but donāt disclose that they use AI. Iāll be honest, I canāt always tell whatās AI and what isnāt anymore, especially with anime-style art. I miss the early MidJourney days when it was obviously spewing digital goo and you could spot MJ v2 from a mile away. I canāt stand AI bros, but at least some of them are honest about using it. They call themselves "artists", sure, but they donāt try to scam people about how the work was actually made.
I could also say that artists who post for free owe you shit, politeness be damned, and that we should just answer like this to any kind of demand:
Anyway, here I am rambling againā¦
Welcome to my account, anon! Thank you so much for enjoying my art ^^ I still have some pieces I havenāt posted yet, including pre-serum Steve, Sherlock, Spidey/Deadpool, and more.
Have a wonderful Sunday! š
America's Day Off - (2026)
Happy Birthday Captain! ššŗšø
I really like the picture of this young man (no idea who that is) so I'm drawing Bucky in the same pose in the style of an artwork I did in 2019 (picture 3). Good luck to me, I guess, because this kind of technique is pretty time consuming (= you have zero texture to "hide" mistakes) and of course there's my "Art Archenemy", Bucky's metal arm š
I'm fully aware I'm only posting WIPs at the moment but I'll end up finishing something one day or another š TBH, these days, I'm spending my free time doing...whatever. I was at Richard Ashcroft concert last week, Guns n' Roses this week, went to the museum a couple of times...Long story short, I'm like George R.R Martin: doing anything except focusing on what I should be focusing on. āš
But tomorrow is July 4th, Steve Rogers' birthday, so see you tomorrow with the "Annual Steve B-Day Artwork". šŗšøš
I hope you guys are doing great. Take care š
Question from @bloodyentrails : "Awww that's cool tho, i like getting to know people's processes and wips are a way to that. What do you mean, there are no textures to hide stuff in?"
When I want to give an "oil painting effect", I give this effect thanks to texturized brushes...
(I think you can see the difference between what I consider un-texturized and texturized brushes)
....AND thanks to textures above the original drawing
Here's a very simplified diagram showing how the different Photoshop layers are arranged. As I said, it's extremely simplified because I often have several layers for shadows, highlights, details, accessories like bracelets, necklaces, etc...and then at some point, I merge and rework everything.
Above the main layer + the shadow/highlights layers, you can find all the layers that help create the final "oil painting effect". These "texture layers" bring textures, of course, but bizarrely, they tend to smooth everything and make the brush strokes blend better. I don't know if I'm very clear but here's a picture of a Sherlock art I'm working on at the moment...
....without the overlay/soft light textures on the left and with the textures on the right. (Of course, it's a WIP, so you have a lot of highlights and details missing at the moment. It's a bit messy š ).
Long story short, the textures tend to hide a lot of mistakes and make the shadows and highlights easier to handle. On my new Bucky art, however, no textures, everything is smooth, in the open, so no place to hide š
I hope I answered your question ^^

The Widows, Yelena & Natasha - (2026)
I'm back to my "pretentious art" shenanigans. š
I saw on Twitter the image on the left, a detail of The Fencing Lesson, a work by Alcide-ThĆ©ophile Robaudi and, don't ask me why, I thought it would be a great base for a Sherlock portrait (even if the original model is a kid, which is not super obvious from the cropped image on the left š )
Anyway, I'm adding this artwork on my already long list of artworks to finish, list that already include artworks devoted to Spider-Man (twice, two different Spideys), Spideypool, Supernatural, Sherlock, and Steve Rogers. The Sherlock art inspired by The Fencing Lesson will be the only one to have the texture of an oil painting though, the other ones are closer to this style or this one. I also need to finish 3-4 speed painting I did to practice a more "dynamic" style and stop focusing on details. š
I hope you will enjoy the final result. ^^
I'm slowly getting there. Sherlock has now a face (but no arms š¤). You can see on the left the brushes I use, mainly texturized brushes and on the right, my palette (it seems different from the colors used on Sherlock's face but it's due to all the various textures stacked above the main layer). I hope you'll enjoy the final result. š

Hi guys
Thank you so much for your messages and for taking the time to contact me, itās very kind of you. š Sorry about the late reply, I was busy in the last few days not to mention I was in āPurgatoryā (no internet at home during 3 days š) so I had problems answering my messages on Tumblr.
Hmmmā¦It's ok, I'm letting this one slide: I'm credited and to be honest, I have no idea why this art took off because I did it as a practice that I had no intention of posting on Tumblr. I do that a lot at the moment on Twitter: most of the time, I chose an old picture of one of my favorite musicians and I redraw it in color. Itās fun and itās a way to forget about my obsession of details.
I did this one for fun and it was reposted on Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr about 3 weeks after I drew it. The Internet, I swear š¶
Thanks again for your messages!
Have a great day.
i know there is absolutely no way to tell where an artists' inspiration comes from or what might put them in the mood to draw an original piece, but i just have to say that i love your sam and dean winchester so much and i miss seeing your interpretation of them. my favotites are cowboy winchesters. but even better than that was pirate stripper jensen. i also love seeing them doing laundry in the laundromat. i have had your art of them naked with all their myriad of tattoos on my desktop since in found your art in 2011. every time i look at it, i find something new and i LOVE that. i know you've become a marvel manufacturing complex, but i hope you return to the winchesters soon, however briefly that may be. ~signed your favorite sam and dean winchester/wincest fan ā¤ļø
p.s. i should note that i love all your work regarless. those are just my favorites and i miss seeing them.
Hi anon ^^
Thank you so much for the amazing feedback about my Supernatural art, itās very kind of you š
I miss seeing your interpretation of them.
Believe it or not, I had two pieces in the works but they are so complex when it comes to the background and the details that I dropped them (for the moment). Maybe I should focus on something more simple for once instead of focusing on details. š¶
The two artworks I dropped
Even better than that was pirate stripper Jensen.
Ho, ho! Youāve been following me for a long time! Thank you so much! š I remember this art! The good old days, the memories. š However, do you know what is sad ? Some of the artworks youāre telling about in your messageā¦I wouldnāt be able to draw them today because I donāt have the app to do this anymore (Painter 12). I mean, I could do something that would be close of course, but not exactly the same because this kind of textures would be hard to obtain with the tools/apps I have on my new computer. Arghā¦
I know you've become a marvel fan art manufacturing complex
HA HA HA. š¤£š¤£š¤£Iām adding this to my bio. Honestly, the factory's rhythm is far less intense than it used to. I haven't worked on a series in ages. I have ideas but I'm spending more time doing...whatever. Not to mention that the MCU hasnāt been great-great lately even if I think the latest 3-4 movies were actually good. I really enjoyed The Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four, and I canāt wait for Spider-Man : Brand New Day.
I should note that i love all your work regardless. those are just my favorites and i miss seeing them.
Donāt worry about that, itās absolutely normal to have preferences regarding an artistās works. I follow tons of artists and even if I still enjoy their works because I love their art style, Iām nostalgic of the days they were drawing for my favorite fandoms like the MCU of Supernatural.
Thanks again for enjoying my art so much!
Have a great day. š
have you seen the latest season of the Boys? Do you have any thoughts? š
Hi anon ^^
Thanks a lot for your message. š
I didn't answer it right away, I wanted to watch the complete season as I was 4 episodes late but I still haven't watched the whole thing. I found the last season not bad at all, not great, but really entertaining (so far).
But otherwise, yes, I still haven't finished the last season of The Boys mainly because:
Ā 1) I was spoiled left and right on Twitter (my fault, I didn't keep myself up to date and I didnāt blacklist the right keywords)
2) I've been watching something else lately. Iām ashamed to tell youā¦
Amazon France brought the 12 seasons of Murder she wrote so here I am marathoning the adventures of Jessica Fletcher in Cabot Cove (and Iām also watching movies like Project Hail Mary and Mario Galaxy). If Amazon brings the A-Team (the Agence Tous Risques, as we say here š) and The Dukes of Hazzard, I'm done, you'll never hear from me again. š
Anyway, I should really finish the last season of The Boys because Iām still interested, I didnāt lose interest along the way of anything but I justā¦stopped because āOMG, Jessica Fletcherā (Homelander losing against Jessica Fletcher, what a plot twist š¶)
Thanks a lot for your message and have a great day.
The new jacket (Dean Winchester) - (2026)

Doomsday Steve - (2026)
According to people who watched the trailer at CinemaCon, that's (roughly) what Steve Rogers should look like in Avengers : Doomsday. Can't wait! ^^
The Smiths - (2026)
Say 'cheese, Alpine! - (2026)
User wintersldrswirl on Twitter posted the cropped picture of a young man with a kitty on his back pocket and asked if someone could draw a Bucky and Alpine version. I loved the ref so I was happy to do it! ^^ (Original post here)
