Student Reflection
1. I believe that after taking Intro to Media/Journalism, that i am much more aware of current events circulating not only around my own community, but also the globe. Before the class i always enjoyed watching the news with my parents, but never really payed close attention to what the reporters were saying, now i listen closely so i can catch every word.
2. I have always been very comfortable with conducting interviews, as i have done this in the past, so i enjoyed interviewing people for class. I general tip for people is to be confident and assertive, you want to conduct the interview so you get the most information possible from your source. I would most likely not go back and re-conduct an interview with one of my old sources because i believe i got all the information that was needed for the story, the first time.
3. After taking the class my writing skills have increased. I now know how to use AP styles of writing, and can use the inverted pyramid in my works. I also have better lead sentences and titles for stories, now that i know how important they are.
4. Stories that i think need to be picked up, specifically by high school press, is the schools activities and extra curricular's. These include teams like Speech, Debate, Show Choir, Bad, and Orchestra, and fun clubs like Key Club. Photographs are also just as important as story topics, a link of good photos that use great techniques is shown below.

5. I know have a much better understanding of what it means to live in a country with the freedom of speech, and what i can do with my rights. But journalists have to be careful to write stories only based on fact.
