Today’s HistoryMAKER is Ellen Degeneres. 21 years ago, Ellen publicly announced she was gay by way of her character on Ellen. She subsequently portrayed the first-ever gay lead on television. Though her coming out was celebrated on magazine covers, talk shows, and newspapers, it’s just as important to remember she faced backlash, hate mail, and death threats. But she never stopped being herself. 

Last year, President Obama awarded Ellen with the Presidential Medal of Freedom for showing us “that a single individual can make the world a more fun, more open, more loving place—so long as we just keep swimming.”

You can browse the most popular ones or search for certain colors, themes, and even specific hex codes!

When you find one you like, you can download a wallpaper swatch of it and also select the specific colors it uses to look at more palettes that use those same ones.

ColourLovers is my go-to for when I’m having trouble coming up with a color scheme! It’s also been around for over a decade, so there’s plenty to browse through.
