good evening ( or morning ? afternoon ? night ? ) tags ! this is a brand new asoiaf / game of thrones tumblr group, inspired by but loosely based on the events of robert's rebellion. come check us out and maybe even put in a reserve or an app ?
well, i've settled on a plot ! now is just time to get everything organized and put together graphics and a theme. watch the tags closely over the next week !
would your idea incorporate an utopical version of westeros or one that's closer to how it is depicted in the books/show? just asking out of curiosity since i think it can impact quite a lot the tone and plot options c:
definitely more utopical version ! i don't want to limit people in that way.
still playing around with graphics and writing up some plot ideas ! currently leaning one way on the plot ideas but i'd still love to hear some thoughts from others, so come reply or send them in !

re: last anon abt ocs except the targs, that would also lend itself to court drama regarding who is the heir since there are no living children to aerys ii
that is an interesting point ! again, i think i would still make it completely oc but you're giving me some ideas.
maybe have all of the houses completely up for oc grabs, with the targs remaining the canon targs (perhaps no rhaegar, dany, or viserys). that way there's still a struggle against the mad king without our main canons.
yeah either idea i go with, it would be completely oc regardless. i personally don't enjoy asoiaf rps with canons or a mix of canon and oc, it feels too much like there's "main characters" and then side characters, you know ?

my name is brooke ! i did help run another asoiaf rp, but didn't feel comfortable doing so any more for many reasons. however because this would be completely my own rp, i wouldn't run into the same issue i did there.
What would a post rebellion group look like? Like, what are you maybe thinking of plot-wise? Don't have to spoil anything, just curious since I don't think i've seen one before.
well, it would be a completely different outcome from what happened in canon ! hence, it being an au. and as i said, it would be a lot more loosely inspired by the rebellion. i don't wanna give away too much or anything, but i'm thinking of making the basis of the rebellion a lot more.. general ? like, i do think i would remove the lyanna aspect of it ( again, this would still be oc ) so that people don't feel too restricted if that makes sense. it'd be more about power and fighting against a mad king. but, if that's something people wouldn't want taken out, i'd love to hear that too.
even though it's been done quite a few times, i'm still a sucker for dance aus i fear sdfkjsdf i also think people are always interested in them, so there would be no shortage of members + the overall plot makes for a very compelling context to write in !!
no i totally get it ! listen, i love dance aus so much even if they've been done quite a bit. you're not wrong, they definitely get a good amount of attention too. i just wanna make sure i do something that will hold people's attention !
i would love to see an rp that is like not centered around the targs? or that is like if the doom of valyria never happened.
that's fair ! i definitely want something that features them, as i will admit i am a big targ fan but it doesn't necessarily need to be centered around them either, i get that. of course, a dance au would more so center them, but i feel like the robert's rebellion au wouldn't be just about them.
i'm still hanging around here, playing around with some graphics for the group and i'd love to hear some more thoughts about what y'all would like to see ! i think i'm leaning towards either a dance au or post-robert's rebellion au, with the latter being a lot more loosely based on the actual events. but tell me about what you wanna see !

LOL i won't lie, i have plenty of issues with the shows, so i do see your point. even if you're a show only fan, you could easily still participate in a book-focused group just by reading through the asoiaf wiki. it's pretty thorough.
I'd be interested in any of your ideas, but I will say that Dance era or Robert's Rebellion plots might draw more people who are familiar with the shows only (which is a lot of public group roleplayers). I'm partial to the Dance era myself because of the sheer amount of drama and conflict available for all to play with, whether from a greater or lesser house. I don't think Dance era groups are ever wanting for applications either; they fill up pretty quickly, suggesting people quite like them.
I say go with whichever one calls to you most, though, and that you're least likely to abandon.
that is a really good point, thanks for saying this ! i am also a huge fan of the dance, i just worry people might feel it's overdone. but if people are still willing to join, i'd be willing to come up with something. a robert's rebellion au could also be really fun, especially if it's more loosely inspired by those events rather than following them super closely.
we need less got rps and more original fantasy tbqh
that is a totally fair thought ! however, there's only 1 asoiaf / got rp around right now. i personally don't wish to join that one and while original fantasy is nice, i love the rich world that grrm has created and i really enjoy writing in it personally.
hello tags ! i've noticed the tags are severely lacking an asoiaf rp and i am ( hopefully ) here to deliver one to y'all. however, i really need to know what people would like to see as far as plots go. would you guys prefer to see a freshly conquered era westeros, dance era, or post-robert's rebellion ? i am leaning towards one, but i wanna hear everyone's thoughts. all of these would be an au and fully oc. feel free to reply to this or send in asks voicing your thoughts !
