Why do you think the fembots blew up from austin power's dance? Why couldn't they have just shut down or let him go?

In film: This is the "big battle" for Austin, the fight with dire consequences and the only time he really is in danger, even compared to later on when he is face to face with Dr Evil. As such, the fight/weaponised seduction needs a big finish and I guess anything less would be anti-climatic.

In universe: Who can say? I'm in the mind that the Fembots were so hard-wired in their overwhelming seduction that they didn't have the programming to process someone trying to seduce them in turn. Austin mentions cross mojonation but that wouldn't have the same effect on biological targets, so maybe the bots mechanical nature makes their sexuality so min-maxed that they glitch out and explode.

An enhanced shot of Myers about to lay back in bed with the Fembots. I always wondered about the full sequence that would have been filmed, seeing that in the final film, Donna and Cindy have already left the bed. I wonder why they left in the original sequence?

I particularly like this spot as the Fembots have gone from romantically cuddling with Austin to looming over him as they all use their feather fans as they try to overwhelm him.

Here's a question. What are some of your worries if AP 4 happens, especially for the Fembots in that story. I'm definitely concerned they'll be in it for less than a minute, or not at all.

As much as I'd love for the Fembots to be a larger part and even a catalyst for a fourth movie, I have to admit that looking at the way they were implemented in the sequels leads me to suspect that they would be a small reference.

That said, all these years later the Fembots from the first film are an iconic part of the film so I'm hopeful that if they returned they would be back in their beehived boudoir outfits.
