001 ; the puppet. ⬩ this verse focuses on his earliest incarnation when he was known as kabukimono, the discarded puppet created by raiden ei. left behind for being “too soft”, he wanders inazuma trying to understand himself and the world.
002 ; the balladeer. ⬩ follows setsuna during his time as scaramouche aka the balladeer and the sixth of the fatui harbingers. no longer the lost puppet kabukimono, he has embraced cruelty and calculated detachment as armor.
003 ; the wanderer. ⬩ after erasing himself from irminsul and beginning again as the wanderer, he is now free from the fatui and the weight of his former titles. he chooses the name setsuna for himself as a claim over his own identity. setsuna now walks the world on his own terms, carrying the memories of his past selves, but refusing to be defined by them.
004 ; the unforgotten. ⬩ defeated by nahida but not erased, he is denied the mercy of oblivion. the world remembers the false god of sumeru, the harbinger who chose ambition over mercy. branded a traitor and stripped of escape, he is forced to live with the consequences of his own making.
005 ; the ascended. ⬩ in this timeline, the experiment in sumeru succeeds. scaramouche ascends as shouki no kami and claims the divinity he was denied. worshiped as a god yet haunted by the hollow space within him, he rules with absolute authority, determined to prove that the puppet abandoned by ei was always worthy of godhood.

setsuna is an abandoned artificial vessel, created by the genius society on edo star as a prototype meant to house divine power. when a stellaron corrupted the planet and forced the project’s collapse, all records were erased and its creators vanished leaving him behind as a discarded experiment. yet against all intention, he awakened with a will of his own. what he does not know is that his story did not end there.
after his awakening, setsuna was found by elio and taken in by the stellaron hunters. his purpose was rewritten, his memories altered, and his role sealed within a script that would lead him to the astral express. now, walking the path of nihility, he travels alongside them as an informant, believing his choices to be his own, unaware that he is still carrying out a design he was never meant to remember. setsuna believes he is proving that his existence will never again be defined by his creators — unaware that even now, it still is.

s-01 was the first successful artificial human created in a classified research project designed to replicate human consciousness. brilliant, observant, and emotionally complex, he quickly became proof that the experiment worked and the reason it had to be replaced. when his creators deemed him unstable and began developing a newer model, the prototype disappeared before he could be discarded.
now living under the name setsuna, he drifts from place to place, surviving through intelligence and instinct while avoiding the organization that once claimed ownership over him. cynical, sharp-tongued, and fiercely independent, he refuses to return to the role he was built for or to be treated like something that can be replaced.
