Ingredients: 1kg beef ribs. cup salted black beans, rinsed, drained. cup hoisin sauce. cup brown sugar. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 2 garlic cloves, crushed. 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger. 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder. steamed jasmine rice, to serve. sliced green onions, to garnish.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 160C 320F. Place the beef ribs in a large roasting tray. Combine the black beans, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and Chinese five-spice powder in a bowl. Pour the mixture over the ribs, ensuring they are coated evenly. Cover the tray tightly with foil. Bake for 2 hours or until the ribs are tender. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 220C 430F. Bake for a further 20 minutes or until the ribs are sticky and caramelized. Serve the ribs with steamed jasmine rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
