Hello! Thank you for checking out this blog. '[XYZ]-culture-is' or related blogs are where people send asks/submissions of the subject where the community of said subject may share solidarity, relate, or learn more of the subject.

What does this blog cater to?

This blog caters to a disorder, specifically personality disorder, called Paranoid Personality Disorder [PPD]. It is a Cluster A Personality Disorded where each PD in that cluster is characterized by odd or eccentric thinking or behavior. However, allies and PPD-trait havers are welcome. I encourage that allies don't send asks nor submissions since this blog isn't for them.

this might be ableist, but can pwPPD be self aware ? I am aware I'm suspicious, but I think I'm very justified in said suspicion and I dont see it as paranoia despite relating 2 ppd symptoms. I heard many people say pwPPD can't be self aware but I think this is very very stupid.

This isn't ableist, and is a good question to ask. Yes, people may be self-aware of their own disordered behaviors. Some may be self-aware, but then dampen the intensity/frequency, try to reason/excuse, or find some way to minimize their symptoms. If I recall, some models of diagnosing PDs may use self-awareness and interpersonal introspection as a part of the process for assessing someone. Take that last bit with a grain of salt though as it is not definitive fact.

Questioning PPD culture is not being able to seek medical help or diagnosis because doctors can't be trusted. They're condescending and they won't listen and they'll do nothing but hurt me. Still, I don't know if I'm aware enough to accurately self diagnose, what if I get it wrong? People will harass me for that as well and I'll constantly worry if I'm right or wrong and what if the symptoms suddenly disappeared and I've been lying? I'm just stuck in limbo unable to do anything

PPD culture (and maybe this is ocd idk) is if I say something like I would prefer one thing to happen to me than another, but in a completely hypothetical context, I get genuinely worried that someone listening is going to take that and put me through some horrible Saw trap with it. (Researched) Self DX PPD culture is being paranoid over if you're paranoid enough. What if I'm wrong? I'm probably wrong. What if I've lied to all these people and they find out. They're going to hurt me. I can't get a professional's help because they won't believe me. They're going to mock me. My family don't even believe I have the disorders I am diagnosed with. They're going to humiliate me. If I say I'm self diagnosed people will harass me. If I lie and say I'm professionally diagnosed people will find out and they'll still harass me and they'll dox me. Cycling through these thoughts over and over again until it gives you panic attacks.

PPD culture is writing a completely different ask that I will not send because I'm genuinely scared of that one person I blocked months ago finding it, recognizing my typing quirks and somehow contacting me and blackmailing me with exposing all those secrets my alter was stupid enough to tell them and outright ruining my life, even though that person doesn't even know we have a Tumblr account, has no reason to be scrolling through this specific blog on the specific date it would have been posted, and even if they were to scroll through it the ask was anonymous so they couldn't tell what my user is. Hilarious (but actually not).
