hello 👋 this will be my only post talking about fandom discourse because i hate this sort of thing but here are my thoughts on certain things (even tho nobody care 😂):

1. you do not own metallica, you can be their biggest fan, but you do not control the band’s thoughts, decisions, or their private lives.

2. hating on the wives/girlfriends/fiancés of these men make you an insecure loser. point blank period, it’s ok not to like them as people, but calling these women disrespectful things such as “hag”, “gold digger”, “ugly” or things among those lines crosses the line of being hateful. this is mainly about adrianna bc i see a lot of people making fun of her dead husband or her kids or calling her said things that i before mentioned. again, it’s ok to dislike her as a person, trust me i don’t like her either, but some of you guys go way too far. and also, if you dislike adrianna you also have to dislike james bc james has the same beliefs as her, so hating her but glazing james makes you a hypocrite.

3. your faves are not innocent, no matter who they are. James, Kirk, Lars, Jason, Cliff (thats gonna make some ppl mad but it’s true), Dave, any of them are not innocent, they all have done things to be ashamed of, don’t get me wrong, i love them all, i love Metallica and all the members, i have since i was a kid, however that does not mean i defend them or agree with their actions. At the end of the day they are all humans who have made horrible decisions for the time.

4. stop harassing the families of the members/stop digging through their lives just bc you wanna be parasocial or angry about something that doesn’t even involve you, it’s gross and weird and it makes you a stalker basically.

5. stop sending people horrible things/stop leaving hateful comments just because someone said something you disagree with, the best way to handle things that make you angry, sad, or cringe, is to just scroll or block the account. at the end of the day we are all apart of the metallica family and being hateful is just making us hate each other. And also if you’re gonna send hate, don’t do it anonymously, don’t B a pussy ✌️

6. repeating the same discussions that have been had 4 million times will not make the members of the band any better, they are all morally grey people who have made horrible decisions at some point in their life, or still make horrible decisions. This is a band that has been around since 1981, do you seriously think some loser on tumblr/tiktok/instagram/pinterest/twitter is really gonna change anything about the lives of members of a billion dollar band? no is the obvious answer. Am i saying these discussions don’t need to be had? No, i do believe some of the members’ actions do need to be talked about, however it also needs to be known that it won’t change anything. Like at all 🤷

7. “I miss when the metallica fandom was chill and we only cared about the music” me too gang, me too 💔 But you know how we can achieve that? by spreading less hate, stop being parasocial and stop being negative all the time. There’s always gonna be that one loser that comes in like a fly just trying to stir shit up or trying to be tuff, the best thing to do is just ignore it and move on, the more attention you give it, the more the metallica fandom turns into a dumpster fire and it turns into us hating each other alllllll over again. It’s not fair, but it’s the truth
