my collection of kh thoughts
mix of thoughts, theories, and observations. dumping these here b/c i don't really have a place for them. there's no real rhyme or reason to a lot of them, but i wanna get these ideas out of my head and put them down somewhere
also I'm late to kh, so let's be real none of these ideas are really all that original. but I have thoughts, I must ramble.
1 - ava is working against MoM and luxu is helping her (to an extent)
in the epilogue, xigbar-luxu points out how ava isn't there, and says she had her own mission which she apparently carried out. this seems to be something different than the role MoM gave her. in the nintendo kh4 trailer, it's pretty confirmed based on va that that's ava on the building & narrating. i think her mission was to get to quadratum, and xigbar-luxu knew she made it b/c she wasn't with the rest of the foretellers.
also him calling it her mission, verses how each of MoM's apprentices were given a role, makes me think this was a self-assigned mission. this is her undertaking.
in UX, ava learns about MoM's plan through luxu, and they inadvertently kick off the keyblade war. I think this is when ava decides to go against MoM. I think she fundamentally disagrees with the sacrifice MoM has accepted as part of his plan. cause she cares for the danedelions, and keybearers as a whole. she was trying to stop the keyblade war up until that point after all.
in the kh3 epilogue, tho we see 7 dark pieces from the wide shot (and can likely guess the piece on the far right is ava's) we never see a close shot of it. in the following shot, the camera cuts right before her piece (aced's piece is also missing from this shot, but can be seen in the following one that pans from the pieces to young xehanort's face). i think this intention obscuring shows that tho she is a foreteller, she's not with MoM.
luxu meanwhile is at the center of the pieces on the board (and the foretellers in the graveyard in the epilogue). his role was to watch over the no name keyblade throughout the years, meaning he's always within the gaze of no name - and MoM. if he wanted to move against MoM, he probably wouldn't be able to do so without being seen. he's watching & being watched in turn. but he might be able to help ava.
1.a - protecting the dandelions
regardless if subject x is skuld, xigbar-luxu was the one to rescue her. luxu was also the one who recruited marluxa & larxene to the organization. there's some sort of deal between luxu & brain at the end of UX (and no, I don't think this is luxu body-snatching brain). we don't know if he interracted with ephemer, but point is luxu seems to be watching over the remaining dandelions, possibly for ava. or possibly cause he himself cares for them.
2 - encanto will be a disney world in kh4
abuela is a foil MoM as mirabel is foil sora.
she wants her best for her family and community, even if her actions inadvertently hurt them. MoM wants to defeat darkness but it comes at a great sacrifice, one that MoM is willing to accept.
mirabel is the one to ultimately save her family & sora will ultimately save the light. mirabel has no power, yet is the one to ultimately help her family. sora really is an ordinary boy, but because of his friends has extraordinary strength.
(i'm sure there's more to be said about these foils, i'm just blanking rn)
also, each individual room in the madrigal house could be seen as a mini realm, much like the various worlds on the map in each kh game make up the kh reality.
3 - scala ad caelum has been split as a world
we've seen two versions of scala, the victorian ML version and the santorini-esque white DR version. radiant garden is an offshoot of victorian scala, while land of departure is an offshoot of white scala.
much like how master's defender was used to change land of departure to Castle Oblivion and back again, I think something similar was done to scala in between these two different era's. scala is known as the nexus from which all world are born, so either intentionally or accidentally, pieces of this world broke off and radiant garden & land of departure were formed.
(that or people who lived in scala simply moved to these worlds)
3.a - the uniforms of radiant garden & scala are near identical
the outfits of the scientists on radiant garden are pretty much IDENTICAL to the scientists seen in ML - even the ascots are seemingly the same purple. the guard uniform whereas has fair number of changes but the base design remains the same - a double breasted, navy belted coat with silver-white accents.
I don't think it's as simple as reusing the scientist's outfit design, when effort was clearly made to design a similar-but-different guard uniform. I think the outfit choices are deliberate to draw parallels between the two worlds.
3.b - lifeboats
the lifeboats have only been seen in two locations - daybreak town (upon the ruin's of which, scala was built) and radiant garden / hollow bastion. how the lifeboats were rebuilt after the destruction of daybreak town is still to be revealed, but a thought would be that ephemer rebuilt them as he built scala.
it's possible they were part of the world when scala split off. or it's possible if some of the scientists moved to radiant garden, they brought the lifeboat tech with them.
3.c - land of departure
lol I'm to tired to think just wHYYY I think it's split off from scala, so all I'll say is ~vibes~
ok but fr, the middle of the castle's shape reminds me of the central castle in scala + the clocktower in daybreak town. but overall more extended.
like i said, ~vibes~
4 - when are the astral-nauts from?
kinda a random thought, but the astral-nauts from the ML link are weird to me, and has me wondering when (and where) they're from. cause their suits look both higher tech and lower tech than the keyblade armour that we've seen in the games.
like the lights on the suits, the jetpacks, and the screen-like visors seem more advanced than keyblade armour. but at the same time, they seem more bulkier / clunkier & more unrefined than the armour. very mass-produced vs. the individualistic armour.
also the use of starlight by all the astral-nauts intrigues me. cause maybe I'm misremembering, but I swear by the time of missing link, that keyblade is considered old / not used much anymore.
also also, based on the beta cutscenes, when the player dives into the astral dimension, they don't wear any sort of armour like the astral-nauts
possibly they could be from the early days of scala and these were early explorations (r i p the 4 who got landed in quadratum in the trailer and possibly got stuck there forever)
5 - brain & luxu
so i know luxu saying "it's a shame this lifetime is the only one you've got" can come off as pretty sinister, and I think a lot of people do take it that way, as like this last thing luxu says before he takes brain as a vessel. but idk, I've kinda taken this line, + the proceeding one ("you're pretty smart, aren't you?") as luxu being thoughtful, and wanting to help brain cause brain could help him.
idk, i know the khwiki says that brain is a luxu vessel, but I feel like I'm missing where that was confirmed? especially when secret report 12 contradicts that? unless there's some info in a missing link leak that hasn't been shared to the wider community. the long & the short of it: I'm still up in the air on brain as a vessel. the naming convention fits with bragi & braig / xigbar. but we don't get that "as if" to really clue us in.
5.a - brain helping luxu (helping ava)
okay this kinda ties into my ramble above about luxu potentially helping ava, but if (and that's a load-bearing IF) luxu is helping her go against MoM, I've also wondered if he's roped brain into helping. as I said, luxu pretty much has to stay within sight of the gazing eye, but brain would likely be able to move & act beyond it's sight. it's hard for me to guess what'd he'd be doing exactly as the self-proclaimed virus, but there's a reason what went down during the ML era is missing (and not just cause the game was cancelled lol)
5.b - not brain's only life
yeah so we saw brain travel to ML scala at the end of UX, the how of it all still remains a mystery. but this is where I get on the copium. cause I hope brain returns at some point in the future.
my reason for wanting that? whelp master's defender is just sitting there, ripe for the taking~ brain go get ur keyblade again.
but fr, we don't know how brain died. (assume he's eraqus's grandpa) we never get a definitive answer as to what happened to him, only that he was lost battling the darkness.
(lbr if he's anywhere in kh in the future, it'll probably be quadratum)
but this is me throwing out wild ideas, and my silly idea is that he learnt something from luxu that will allow him to return in the future (and is possibly how he got the ML scala in the first place). remember he called himself a virus in the master's system, and the brain virus is a self-replicating virus :)
6 - two quadratums
very much not my idea - I've seen a fair few talk about this here, on reddit, and in youtube vids - but I like the idea, so I wanna make a note of it, to reflect on later.
basically there are two quadratums and sora and riku are each in one. this is also why yozora had two different eye colours, cause he can see both. sora's in the real quadratum cause of him abusing the power of waking, whereas riku's in the dream quadratum b/c that's how he got there.
6.a - wherefore are thou yozora
I'm still tryna understand what this means for yozora and why he looks so much like riku, even tho sora also looks like him / gets confused for him.
(for lack of a better term, is yozora like their love child made up of pieces of their hearts or smth???)
(or is this a xion thing, where everyone who looks at her sees someone different. so in yozora's case, we so someone who looks like riku b/c we're playing through sora's eyes and he see's riku)
is yozora made of memories?
(insert that clip of spencer from smosh saying "what is a person, if not memories?")
yozora intrigues me & gives me a headache.
7 - seeking: two guardians for hire
okay this is silly, but the guardians of light are down two keyblade wielders what with sora & riku off in quadratum. they'll need to find two more to fill those spots, what with the foretellers seemingly being the big bads of the next arc.
and you'll never guess who just got recompleted!!
I want lauriam & elrena to team up with the guardians. yes there's a very likely chance it'll happen, but still, the fact that the guardians just lost two wielders to quadradum right when two more are recompleting will never not be funny to me.
anyways it's late and I'm tired so have my rambling thoughts that are probably regurgitated ideas, but I'm having fun anyways~
