"i don't like dressing up for halloween." ada stated firmly, looking over the stranger slowly. it wasn't the stranger's fault, ada never trusted anyone not after everything that had happened to her. the kanima only trusted two people in all of sydney, and she didn't plan on trusting anyone else anytime soon. but no, she didn't like dressing up for halloween. she and davina had to pretend to people they weren't the whole time they were growing up because of their parents. however, it became harder to hide that they didn't agree with their parents when Ada became a kanima instead of a werewolf. despite all the thoughts going through her mind, ada continued to stare at the stranger firmly. "why?"

Contined from x bc beta's a bitch Carrying boxes wasn't exactly his idea of a fun day, but since it meant he'd be living with Jax at the end of it, he wasn't complaining. Obviously Jaxon didn't agree. But he knew the difference in the way his oldest friend was trying to show off for him. God, he loved him. That tattoo, it always made his heart skip a beat. The fact that Jax had gotten that because he missed him, it meant everything to him. Their relationship was so undefined, but they had always understood they were the most important person in each other's lives. "You saying you don't want me to move in?" He smirked, teasing him as he walked over to steal the shirt from Jax's belt and wipe his sweat off his face. It also meant he was close enough to trace a finger over that tattoo, eyes softening. "It looks good on you. Better than the one on my ass." That had been a lost bet, but he never regretted getting Jaxon's name tattooed on his ass.

"I never said that." Jax defended playfully, pulling a face when Tommy stole his shirt. the action only caused him to raise a playfully eyebrow, pressing closer so he could wrap an arm around the taller man's waist.

god, he loved being close to Tommy.

it was the place he'd always felt safest when the rest of the world went to shit.

"I'm convinced you stole that just so I won't be able to put it back on." he teased, rolling his eyes. but the softness of Tommy's touch had Jax melting. he would never get tired of the other man.

he couldn't.

not when he loved Tommy more than he'd ever loved anyone else.

he brought a hand to Tommy's cheeks, brushing his thumb over his partner's cheekbone as he smiled so softly. it wasn't hard to see he was watching Tommy with his heart in his eyes. "my heart belongs to you, baby. always. even when you're not here." but he couldn't help but smirk. "just like your ass belongs to me too."

Ada didn't budge from her paranoid position even when the other spoke. she had seen enough bad guys swear they were the good guys to fall for something like that. she stayed perched in her seat, octopus stuffed animal held tightly in one hand. it looked almost like she was ready to pounce or flee, but anyone looking wouldn't be able to decide which. "I don't believe you." she finally stated firmly after a moment, her eyes never leaving the other, tracking her movements closely. she had come out here to be alone, so the thought that anyone would happen to join her? she was skeptical at best.

Being able to have a dog was strange. Lee had always wanted that perfect, white picket life despite his job, but it hadn’t ever worked out. Lacy had cheated on him… twice, and he and Barney both worked the same job. Neither of them ever knew when they’d have to leave the country and when they’d get back. Having a dog wouldn’t have been fair to it.

But here? He’d broken down and got one when he’d first got his memories back and now the dog in question was his best friend, and his running partner.

Seeing a stranger coming towards them, he slowed his pace, tightening his grip on the dog’s leash. “I promise, he’s friendly.”

He chuckled, bending down to scratch the intimidating dog’s head with a polite smile.

“Shit.” He cursed as he accidentally bumped into the stranger, nearly spilling his beer as he did. Glaring at the person who had pushed past, he turned back to the person he bumped into with a polite, tight lipped smile.

“Sorry, mate. People these days don’t have any fucking manners.” He took a sip from his beer before shrugging. “If you dropped anything, I’ll replace it. I don’t want any problems tonight.”

“Barney!”

His accent echoed through house as he shut the front door behind him. Maybe things hadn’t been great between him and his husband, but they were trying. That’s what mattered.

No matter how hurt he might have been by Barney’s actions, he still loved him. He was sure he’d never stop loving him. Not after everything they went through. Not loving Barney wasn't an option.

“Get your ass out here, I brought dinner and beer.” Definitely not the most romantic combination, but he and Barney never been ones for traditional romance. It just wasn’t who they were and he had no issues with it. Being able to actually wear his ring on his finger was good enough.
