Gather 'round children & listen to grandma tell you the tale of her morning oatmeal mishaps...
So I decide to be kinda healthy & have oatmeal for breakfast.
I use unsweetened almond milk & dump some pumpkin pie spice in (too much spice, but that's a mistake I usually make). Heat that bad-boy up & then drizzle some cream on top to make it a little more interesting & oops! used a little too much cream, so now I've got porridge instead of oatmeal, no biggie...
take the 1st bite... bleck! forgot sugar.
Go to put in some brown sugar, but I don't want to dirty another spoon, so I just try to sprinkle a little from the bag...
ack! a golf-ball sized clump of brown sugar plops into my oatmeal.
Run to grab a spoon so I can try to salvage the top half of the brown sugar ball, but by the time I get back to it, the extra liquid from my porridge style oatmeal has already soaked up into the sugar lump. So I just mix it all in, not wanting to throw away precious brown sugar...
Nope! It tastes like oatmeal flavored frosting now.
Hastily make a second batch of oatmeal, using just water, to try to even out this mess.
Forget to set the microwave to medium instead of high, come back half-way through the cooking time to find the oatmeal boiling over in the microwave.
I now I have over-cooked oatmeal slop...
Fine. Whatever! It's going to have to do.
Mix the slop in the with the sugar explosion & I now have an enormous bowl of sub-par, still kinda too sweet oatmeal mush.
I have my period & it's a Monday & I have to go into the office which I never have to do on Mondays & we woke up to no heat this morning & then I have this oatmeal fiasco...
