HEY!! I’m sorry I’ve been so absent I’ve been on a fantastic trip to bwaycon & new york and I have a bunch of theatre related projects within the next few weeks so activity will be mostly on DISCORD !! oh... but yknow...

I also went to a little show for the second & third time... you probably have never heard of it.

as much as she had a preference for black , particularly in clothing ... she in reality had a fondness for purple ... and red . though she would never tell anyone that . nonetheless she smiles , brown eyes scanning up and down the other girls clothing . it was almost too obvious ... definitely there was no subtlety when it came to her aesthetic . she respected that . “ ... i’m guessing pink ?”

her head had been filled to the brim with a sudden hope that she hadn’t felt in … months . it was strange . and yet , uplifting .

words flew out of her mouth, screaming and fake crying in such a convincing way . perhaps it was the amount of desperateness that the lie would work … even though it was only technically partially a lie . the maitlands were real , after all … they just weren’t that scary . but , strangers in your house was already pretty scary . why couldn’t he see them ?? he should be able to see them !!

she reaches for the sheet , in hopes that if she covered the average couple with a blanket their silhouette would be seen .

it was like a stab to through the heart . like she had been impaled .

“ dad … “ the sudden screeching and screaming went to a sudden halt . her fake crying now being replaced by very real tears that brimmed at her eyes . “ … why is delia in your bed ? ”

“ lydia , i have asked delia to marry me . ”

his words were foggy . he lied to her . he lied to her this WHOLE TIME . keeping secrets … her mom - her family - has he really moved on so fast ?? - no … no he couldn’t . but he has . he always has .

“ perhaps this was simply … meant to be . “ delia never knew when to shut up , did she ?? she has no right to say ANYTHING about what was happening . she wasn’t there for when her mother’s life slowly wore away . she didn’t have to watch her die . ‘ everything happens for a reason ’ … does that  mean there was a bright side to her mother dying ?? for her own dad BETRAYING her mom ?? he hired her . he wanted her . even though he ALREADY HAD SOMEONE !! — her dead mom . his dead wife . who loved him … who possibly still DOES . she wishes she could be with her . make her dad REGRET he ever forgot about her mom in the first place … her mom would care . her mom wouldn’t ignore her . pretend she doesn’t exist . she might as well not be . after all , he seemed very keen on forgetting their family even happened at all .

“ ash – ” she sighs . she knows it’s always hard to get him to calm down when he was feeling like this . which was understandable . the most she could do was console him and be there for him … help him feel better and talk him through it .

she walks up to him , pulling him away from the mirror and taking his hands gently . “ look … honestly , WHO CARES what my dad thinks ! his fiance is my life coach . you can’t be any weirder than that . ”

He sighs and closes his eyes. He takes a deep breath. She was right. She’s always right. “Thanks Lyds. I’m sorry I get…crazy sometimes.” He contemplates and then looks at her. God she’s pretty.

“Have I ever told you how beautiful you look?”

she snorts and shakes her head , gloved hands squeezing his . “ thank you... ” lydia didn’t understand why a teenage boy made her feel so ... vulnerable . it was almost stupid of her ... but it also wasn’t . it was like something out of some sort of teenage rom - com . “ - god, you’re such a sap ... it’s adorable .”
