The birth story of Liandre Luis
Our third and our last kid. We didn’t expect to get pregnant. When we learned that we were expecting another child when our second was one year and four months old, we struggled to cope with change that is coming. I am ashamed to say that there came a point that I regretted getting pregnant. We were so busy establishing a work-life balance that having another child was difficult. But here we are and here’s his birth story.
April 19, 2017 I had my weekly checkup at my OB. She performed an IE test on me and I was 1cm dilated. She sent me home.
April 26, 2017 I returned for my checkup and still I was 1cm dilated. We went home after that.
April 29, 2017 I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. We went straight to the ER for a checkup and they hooked me up on a fetal monitor. Baby was fine but my contractions were far apart. We were sent home after that again.
May 1, 2017
I went for a checkup at my OB and she gave me these primrose capsules that I need to insert up my vajayjay to induce labor. It was not a good feeling at all to put deep inside four huge capsules. May 2, 2017 I had spotting early morning and so we went to the ER. I got inside the labor suite which was kind of useless because I stayed there quickly. I could not contain the labor pains I was feeling. I was walking back and forth outside the labor room and the constractions were 1 minute apart. I decided to have an epidural because it was our last pregnancy and I was in a LOT of pain. They wheeled me in the delivery room to prepare for epidural at the same time dealing with the labor pains. I did not feel the injection of the anesthesia so much. Just a little sting. But the numbness came rather quick on my lower extremities. We waited for about an hour or so for dilation to progress. The epidural was a great decision. I did not feel anything. I was just coached when it was time to push. My ob said I was doing a good job but I did not feel anything. Our little boy was born at I forgot what time (i will edit this part next time), weighing about 7.1lbs. He is the smallest of the three but big nonetheless. As I finish this birth story (finally!), our son is already two months old. I hope I can blog more stories about my kids in the future. There's nothing more to do than remind myself of the wonderful events in my life because I am pretty sure I will be developing Alzheimer's when I'm old.
