It's so easy to suggest psych counselling in first world countries. It's so hard to get it in the third world.
Ugh. Something at the gym fucked the screen of my phone up today.
Let me share with you this wonderful thing that pretty much saves my life everyday. In FIlipino, we call this a “tabo”. Or a water dipper. If you’re coming from a Filipino household, it’s impossible not to have one.
When I moved to Barcelona in 2015, it was impossible to find a tabo. None of the supermarkets or home stores have it. Even the Chinese stores that pretty much have everything you can ever imagine don’t have it (at least the ones I’ve been to at that time)! It was a disaster!
How was I supposed to wash my ass after pooping? Yeah we wash our asses with soap and water after pooping. It’s a thing.
How was I supposed to rinse out the soap from the walls, the shower floor, the toilet, after I’m done washing them?
How was I supposed to transfer water from one basin to another?
How was I supposed to preserve my Filipino sensibilities without one?!
I used empty water bottles to start with. But the small opening made all of my simple tasks into tedious, time-consuming matters.
Then a friend of mine came to visit. Took one look at my make-shift tabo, scoffed, and grabbed a pair of scissors. And then made this wonderful thing (see picture).
Nearly 2 years later, it’s still alive and still serving me very well. It’s crumpled in places, and it’s not easy to handle, but definitely still my best friend.
Honestly, I am way too funny for my blog to only be followed by pornbots
