you guys ever just grieved a friendship so much to the point where it changes your mood?
like i've had a male friend whom i used to pour my soul out to. our bond was so strong that i ended up referring to him as my big brother and he would call me his little sister
he knew a lot about me as i did about him. he was there to talk to the first guy that liked me. he was there when that same guy broke my heart and left me to drown in misery
and i was over the moon when i found out that he had a girl that he was romantically pursuing. i was genuinely happy for him.
but how silly of me to think that our friendship would remain the same... at first she was fine with us, then eventually she just kind of made him distance from me... almost as if she was worried i would take him from her.. like excuse you? im not looking to date the guy thats seen me in my most miserable state. he's not even my type.. he's way too tall for me... he's just not my kinda dating material. so why was she worried? i had people tell that to her and she said she understood.
so why were you worried, N?
in any case, he blocked me to focus on his relationship with her. and im happy that they found each other but i feel bitter over the brother i lost. and i feel selfish about it because everyone keeps on telling me to let it go
but how do you expect me to just forget so easily? how do you just forget someone who you made so many memories with? how do you just forget your brother?
someone needs to tell me if im being overdramatic bcs this happened about a year ago and it's still bugging me
My crush walked away from me, so if i can't be happy, then neither can any of you guys.
It had been a month since that day, a month since the sporting festivals, a month since you had last spoken to Katsuki Bakugo.
Where did you go wrong?
You hardly saw him around the school anymore. Not like he wasnât coming to school, he was. His name was in the register, you saw, you always did. But the ash blond was ignoring you, you could tell. Everyone could tell.Â
It would be pure coincidence that you would bump into him in school, though the moments were always short, fleeting. He wouldnât even look your way, choosing to ignore your existence altogether.Â
âŠ
â/n? Y/n!â Minaâs concerned voice broke you out of your trance. âHm? What?â you looked up at her, then back down to the artpiece you had been working on. As of lately, you found that you no longer had a strong desire to paint. You had been working on this piece for weeks now, and it felt as though you hadnât done anything yet.Â
Packing your supplies away, you took off your painters smock. âIâve been ringing you for ages. Where is your phone, girl?â she sighed dramatically, plopping down onto one of your beanies.
âHm?â you asked, yawning. âOh that⊠um itâs somewhere. I donât know.â you shrugged, washing your hands, watching the colours blend together before sliding down the drain.Â
âYouâre hopeless.â She giggled. âCâmon! Me and the girls are eating at our special spot in the cafeteria.âÂ
âIâll catch up with you. Can you take my bag for me?â you smile weakly at her. She rolls her eyes but grabs it nonetheless. âDonât take too long!âÂ
Humming a tune under your breath, you finish tidying up the art room and head into the bathroom to do some touch-ups. The sounds of drumming cause you to pause your mascara application.Â
Maybe it was time to head down.
Hurriedly, you grab your phone and exit the room, speed walking to avoid the only person that would be drumming here during lunch.Â
But⊠a peak wouldnât hurt right?
Before you knew it, you found yourself at the music room door, your heart pounding. The door was slightly ajar, just enough for you to peek through without being noticed. Just a little.
There he was. Katsuki Bakugo sat behind the drum kit, head slightly bowed as his arms moved with precision. His ash blond hair was slightly matted down, and the way his lips pressed into a focused line made your chest ache.
You didnât want to admit it, but you missed him.
The sharp roll of the snare drum echoed through the room, pulling you back to reality. Just as you were about to back away, a sudden gust of wind rushed through the hallway, slamming the door open with a loud bang.
The drumming stopped immediately.
You were standing there, looking into irritated crimson eyes. Tucking a strand of hair behind your ears, you sucked in a breath and turned around, prepared to run out of the building and into the arms of your best friend.Â
Hesitantly, you chanced a look behind you, but he remained there, unmoving. How foolish of you to think he cared.Â
And he sat there, hands clutching the drumsticks tightly, watching you run away.Â
for some reason we were dating but while i was affectionate to him, he was very distant and cold. he barely put any effort into the rls and avoided physical touch.
he wore his ex-girlfriends favourite colour as his prom suit and it made me very very insecure for some reason
idk but at some point in the dream i hugged him and i didnt feel butterflies or anything that you'd feel when you have a crush. even tho he didnt reciprocate it, hugging him felt warm, comforting.
i love your storytelling! what kinds of things inspire you to write? iâm struggling with writers block atm.
thank youuuu!!!
Inspiration and I have an...interesting relationship. I'm a little co-dependent, he's a little clingy...I kind of see him fucking everywhere. Like. Everywhere. Sometimes, he leaves me for a while, and then comes back with flowers and we make very sweet love (I write 15k words in a day.) It's a messy, chaotic, scrappy ordeal, and it's kind of a curse. The voices of my characters keep me up at night lol.
But, to answer your question, the things that inspire me most are just good stories. Of all kinds. Music, especially. Plays. I love movies with a heartfelt message. Screenplays with compelling characters. I indulge in many a thirst trap on TikTok for a variety of fictional male characters that are surprisingly, very very inspiring.
My biggest tip is to keep a notebook with you at all times and constantly record everything you see, hear, touch, or feel that make me want to write about it. I think when you do it enough, your brain starts to live there in that space of anything and everything is inspiration.
Itâs not your fault that your love language is physical touch!
And you love your friends! You love giving Ochaco hugs or giving Mina a kiss on the forehead! You like resting your head on Momoâs shoulder! But not so much with the guys. Correctionâonly with one very possessive, very angry Pomeranian.
Your best friend got special treatment, of course. Katsuki was basically a walking-talking heater, a literally blessing in the winters. When heâs around, youâre not allowed to cuddle into anyone else.
The man silently demanded his cheek-kisses standing there, bowing down to your height till you remember to kiss him. And thatâs exactly whatâs happening right now. He walked home (the UA drom that the both of you live in) from the platonic movie date he took you to, he walked you to your door, the hallways deserted but you can hear music from Jirioâs room.
âI mean, the writing was beautiful.â You lean back your dorm room door, gesturing wildly with your hand. âBut the acting? Atrocious!â Katsuki leans down to your height, face tilted to the side a little, waiting patiently for his kiss.
âAnd the cinematography? Ugh! Amateurish!â You throw your hands up dramatically, Katsuki narrows his eyes at you ranting away, wondering if you were being oblivious or you genuinely hadnât realised yet. After a few moments, you realise that he wasnât participating in the conversation, rolling your eyes as you realise what he wants.
You take a step closer to him, stepping up to your tip-toes. Listen, you were frustrated at the movie, you were sleepy, you were tired. So it definitely wasnât your fault when you miscalculated, grabbing Katsukiâs chin, turning his face to plop a kiss on his cheek but instead, smooshing your lips right to his.
You pull away with a soft gasp, eyes wide as you look as the mark your lipstick just left of your best friendâs lips. You glance up to his eyes, slightly wide, entire body frozen in place, cheeks starting to pink. âI am so sorry!â You murmur hurriedly, your thumb from the hand on his cheek goes to wipe it of the stray lipstick, butâ
Bakugo leans down lower, going again to press a short kiss back onto your lips, your thumb caught between. Blood rushes to your cheeks, lips hovering open in embarrassment, fluster, his face still inappropriately close andâŠyour eyes glance back at his lips before baring into his flaming orange eyes.
âAre you sure youââ His voice is raspy as he blinks down at you, of course you donât let him finish, crashing your lips into his, pulling him closer by his collar as he pushed you back against the door, his hands going innocently to your waist, simply peppering kisses against each others lips.
His hands wander to your back, his finger pressing in the sliver of your bare skin peeking out, making you gasp into his mouth, hands cupping his face as he tugs on your bottom lip with his teeth.
âYou taste so good.â He whispers against your lips, pulling away just a moment, letting both of you catch your breath, you watch him lick his lips, eyes ablaze about to go back to taking his time with your lips when you hear a gasp from down the hallway, both your heads snapping to the sounds, Denki, Kirishima, and Deku staring at the two of youâŠ

katsuki had been around blood for most of his life.
whether it was his own, or a bastard who he had to handle for his own, he'd grew comfortable to it. almost intolerant to it.
but seeing you, freaking out with a bullet in your shoulder, your blood spilled over the floors he'd taken you to pick out?
it was something he never prepared for.
glass was shattered, he ran to your side immediately. the hot flash of pain in your arm unbearable, even more so as he pressed down on it, his shirt now ripped as he had to keep the blood from pouring.
your wails echoed throughout the shop, the one you decorated and planned for months together.
he needed to call someone, anyone. you were bleeding and he needed the kit-- but it was too far.
he was failing you. you were crying and he was failing you.
he was shaking, "babe? fuck. stay awake." everything around him was mocking him. his phone being too far, everything was just out of his grasp. out of his control.
he couldn't get up and leave you, if he let up the pressure you could die in the minute it'd take for him to set up.
he always failed you in the end. this was all his fault.
until, kaminari and kirishima walked in, about to yell out and bug katsuki for some food like usual. "yo bro! what's--"
the sight in front of them was one they never expected to see. katsuki almost crushing your arm with pressure, your blood all over the place. the front of house ruined.
it was enough for them to jump into action. katsuki holding you still as kirishima worked to get the bullet out of your arm. kaminari throwing the medkit over from where katsuki had it stored in a shelf. it had barely missed an artery, you were a milimeter away from death.
honestly, they hadn't liked you for a while. before meeting you they only saw you as the woman who was taking one of their best friends away from them. from their own.
but they learned that you only wanted the best for him, so you'd all become close. they learned how katsuki made this choice because he wanted better life for the two of you.
how he was growing sick of the repeated bloodshed that never amounted to anything. how his heart ached at the sight of you crying over his wounds, his black eyes and knife cuts embedded in his skin.
how he vowed to himself that before he'd ever propose to you, that he'd tie up all loose ends with his group, before he knew he could fully dedicate himself to you.
and he did.
nobody couldve ever imagined that they'd be here, kaminari working to keep you calm, helping regulate your breaths. you were freaking out, and that wasn't good for the extreme amount of blood you were losing.
katsuki would be forever grateful for them. he didn't know what he'd do if they weren't here, if you had died in his arms.
your screams were haunting, but at least you were alive. they finally died down into groans of pain when the bullet was out and the fabric was tied tightly around your shoulder.
your shirt was bloodied, his hands were too. he picked you up and mindlessly followed the two into a car that they must of called when he wasn't listening.
back to his old life he went. his eyes were sharp and angry, his hand gripping yours tightly, his finger over your pulse.
he had frozen up. and that could've costed you your life.
your eyes were half-lidded, but open.
only the noise of the road was heard throughout the car. he was the only one in the back, holding you in his arms as he faced straight ahead. he didn't think he could handle looking at you right now.
"'suki?" you said, so quietly the thumping of the road almost completely blocked it out.
but he heard you, he always did. "don't waste your energy. we're almost there."
you nodded, squeezing tighter. your eyes stuck on his bloodied shirt.
you were immediately rushed to the medical wing, the old woman dubbed 'recovery girl' taking you into her care. "she'll be fine, young man. she was lucky. they missed." she scurried off behind the operation team, who had immediately taken her into surgery.
those words carried only a bit of comfort for him. he was guided back to the meeting room, the one he'd been in several times before. the one he took brutal beat downs just to get out of.
but he was back, and it was for you. the same reason why he left.
he stared back at his old blood. deku had taken over for all might a couple years back, so he stood at the head of the table waiting for the rest of them settled in.
he wore a soft face of sympathy. "go change." deku finally said, handing him a pair of spare clothes. "we'll wait for you. you look like.. crap."
"to say the least." katsuki muttered, before accepting the clothes and going to where he knew the old bathroom was.
he washed his hands of your blood, but he knew it'd never really leave. he had stained your life, put you in danger for something as fragile as love. you could've died today, for the only reason of you being connected to him.
he changed, emptying the tattered shirt and slacks into the garbage. he didn't want anything to do with them anymore.
after splashing his face with some water, he headed back to the room.
every old face was there waiting for him, some with understanding small smiles.
he sat next to kirishima, arms crossed as he looked to the head.
"kacchan." deku started. "you, you aren't seriously thinking of coming back, are you?"
all eyes were on him, his body tense. "of course i am. i'm going to find the dumbfuck who did this and bury them."
"but you're not one of us anymore." todoroki cut in. "you left, if you come back it's like you did all that for nothing."
"you can never truly leave though, if you think about it." iida replied before katsuki had a chance. "this is just proof of it. even though he worked so hard to get rid of the connections to us, she still ended up targeted."
"and by an ally no less."
"a what?" katsuki said, his hand slamming on the table. "repeat that shit to me scarface?"
"it's not confirmed yet--"
"don't lie midoriya, it's obvious from the bullet. even the color is mocking us." todoroki said, sliding a bag across the table, over to katsuki.
a bright purple bullet was in it. it was bigger than he remembered, a 12.7 mmx99. it took up almost the entirety of his hand. whoever shot this really had wanted to kill you.
but it couldn't be...
"..shinsou?"
"that's who it points to."
"but. it doesn't make sense. your wife was close friends with him, and we haven't had bad relations with '2 Block' for decades!" midoriya reasoned.
"that doesn't change the fact there was a bullet in her arm." katsuki grumbled, moving it around in his hand. he slammed it back down onto the table.
"wow bakugo, if you couldn't pick up on that, i don't think you should be working this operation." kaminari said, a hand behind his head.
"shinsou wouldn't have missed. she'd be dead the second he aimed for her. you should know that."
silence enveloped the room. kaminari was right, if he didn't pick up on that, he was rusty.
his eye twitched. "i fuckin' knew that dumbass."
"you have personal stake in this, we get it. but you'll end up dead if you keep thinking with your shit attitude." kaminari responded.
"he has a point kacchan. why don't you let us handle it, and you can--"
"no."
he silenced them all with that single word. a face of sincerity and vulnerability he barely wore present in that moment. "i have to do this. i can't sleep at night if i don't. you guys of all people should understand."
a collective silence came over the room. they didn't say anything, but they knew if this had happened to them they'd want back in too.
they knew midoriya had the final say though, so they wished for his opinion.
"fine. but youre not doing this alone. we'll all get in on this. you were one of our best before, im sure all might would agree."
everyone nodded in agreement, saying some variation of 'if you say so'.
kirishima patted katsuki on the back. "hey man, our duos back again!"
"only for this mission though."
"aw man."
"we start tomorrow, so fix yourselves up. i have a feeling we'll be traveling around some tomorrow." midoriya ordered. "dismissed."
everyone poured out, katsuki walking directly to the medicine ward. he passed by the hallways, the pictures representing the allyship between them and the several surrounding gangs mocking as he walked by.
it all felt so familiar, it had only been a year. not much had changed, except for the atmosphere that he brought along with him.
he finally made it to the ward, looking past all the rooms. 'lets see, torture room.. cell.. no she'd be here.' he thought before walking into a hallway.
there he found only one room with a light on. he was right, he looked in to see you, fast asleep with bandages wrapped around your arm.
'at least you were safe', he sighed. jumping slightly when 'recovery girl' started speaking to him. "you did well, a moment later and she'd be dead. don't beat yourself up young man."
a moment passed between them, her words resonating in his mind. he'd done all that he could doz
"you can go wait inside, just don't wake her. there should be a spare bed you can pull out."
and with that, she left.
he walked inside, pulled out the bed and held your hand as he slept. the guilt never dissipated, it was all his fault. and so he'd have to fix it.
he woke up to the feeling of you moving. he'd been on edge the whole night, so the feeling of your hand jerking out of his woke him up immediately.
"katsuki." you said, sounding so tired and confused it broke his heart a bit.
" 'm here." he hugged you quickly, being mindful of the wound in your arm. a desperate, tearful kiss shared between you.
you took his face into your hands, making him stare into your eyes.
"i was so scared, you don't even know." you said nervously. "i thought i was gonna die."
katsuki held you tighter, still so disappointed with himself for even letting you get to that point. he felt like he should've taken the shot. that he should be the one injured right now, but instead he leaned in closer to you. "i was too, but you're here now. safe. with me."
"mhm."
you held him for a bit longer, looking at the room surrounding you.
while he was thinking of the possibilities that could've happened, his one wrong step from you could've left him all alone, you examined the room.
it wasn't a regular hospital, probably not a hospital at all. you knew that from the guns laying on the counters. the stitches all around ready for work, the empty body bags that were bloodied. mocking as they hung from the ceiling.
the windows, all reinforced heavily. the door that had a bolt lock on it.
you didn't get to feel relieved for long. "katsuki. be honest with me."
he tensed up, he knew you'd find out eventually. but he wanted to finish this mess before you ever knew about it. "always am."
"are you.. back in this?" you asked, looking into his eyes with an anxious expression. your hands clinging to his sides.
he sighed heavily. "y'know i have to. i'll never relax if i know that fucker is still out there. he could come back and.. and hurt you again."
"and i can't change your mind about this?"
"...no. it's for.. for us. i wouldn't have left if i didn't care for you, you know that."
"i do."
"then.. just-- wait for me okay? i won't leave 'til later today."
you nodded, laying your head in his chest. "if you get hurt too i think ill die."
"i won't get hurt."
"you promise?"
"i swear."
you leaned in and pecked another kiss on his lips. though you were interrupted by kirishima walking in.
"oops, i really should've knocke-"
"yeah you should've dumbass."
"hi kiri!" you waved, shoving katsuki off of you. "hey [name]!"
katsuki had one arm around you, squinting seemingly annoyed at his partner annoying his wife.
the topic would randomly change from shows you were watching, to fun things that have happened recently, but it took a deep turn into what had just happened to you.
"so, [name]. you heard bakugo's hanging with us for a while, right?"
"yeah, i did." you said, holding him just a bit closer subconsciously.
"so, did he tell you who we think did it?"
"shut the fuck up kir--"
"you already know?" your attention was on him fully. the look in your eyes revealing just how much you wanted answers. "well, it's just a guess for no--"
"shut up kirishima."
"but we think it's shinsou."
your face twisted in confusion. "shinsou?...
no, you're wrong."
"babe, please stay out of this."
"shinsou wouldn't do this-"
"they found his bullet in your arm. nobody else who isn't retired or dead uses that shit."
you physically recoiled at that. "no way." you looked to kirishima, who only confirmed it.
"this has to be a set up or something? he wouldn't do that!"
kirishima made a face, which made katsuki squint his eyes in confusion. "what?"
"i mean.. she could be right y'know. we talked a bit before you came bro." kirishima said, walking in and closing the door behind him.
"right about what? shinsou is associated even if he wasn't the one who shot the bullet." katsuki asserted, standing up to meet kirishima, even if he was taller. this made kiri shoot his arms up in defense.
"i'm saying you're both right. we think it's someone closely associated to shinsou, someone who either taught him or was close to his teacher."
"eraserhead? the guy with a thousand hits under his belt?"katsuki glared, shoving a pointed finger in kirishima's chest.
"hey man, i'm just the messenger. but, no. someone else who learned from him too. but, midoriya called 'you know who' for information."
katsuki sighed, knowing the asshole who went by 'hawks' was about to be here any moment. "fine, i'll be ready soon. just.. let me take her home."
kirishima nodded, leaving the room with a "be back soon man!"
"i'm taking you home baby."
"fine."
"and you have to take all the medicine and stuff when i call you. we'll have to use burners again."
you rolled your eyes. "..fine."
"and, i want you to text me every hour and before you go to sleep."
"fucking fine. let's go already, this place creeps me out."
"good."
he grabbed your hand, helping you up. he let you change into some sweatpants and a tshirt so you didn't have to be the hospital gown for much longer.
you drove home, taking the long route so you wouldn't have to the see the remnants of your , almost, death in your own shop. he had to leave you in front and he wasn't happy about it. opening your door and hugging you tightly, you knew he wasn't going to see you for a couple days.
"babe, text me whenever you can. send me photos or voice messages i don't give a fuck."
"it's only a couple of days kat' you'll be fine, but i'll do it. you text me too, tell me when you sleep and stuff."
"don't let anyone in the house and don't tell anyone what's happenin-"
"i know, babe. i'll be okay."
he shared one last kiss with you. with a determined face he turned away, he would not sacrifice your life together like this. he wouldn't not let you get hurt again.

he wouldn't fail. it wasn't even an option. the sight of you bloodied on the floor ran through his mind, fueling the fire of his soul as he drove back
he had been forced back to HQ first, that idiot only working at irregular hours of the night.
it was three a.m. way past his bedtime, you'd know as he forced you to sleep alongside him at eight. sometimes the sun was even out when he'd go in for the ânight.â
he breathed a sigh of half relief and half annoyance as he saw the annoyingly flashy red car in the parking lot of the âcasinoâ. he walked in to be greeted by the group of them sitting at a poker table, deku at the head.
katsuki took a seat by the rear, eyes closed but ears open. they had started talking already, but minutes were millions with that idiot. so deku had to ask his questions quickly.
âwe just wanted to ask if you'd sold any information on any of our former blood.â midoriya started, eyeing as hawks grew a smirk on his face, his expression one of mock thoughtfulness.
âwell, i did. but on who and what will cost you extra, but you know that already.â
âwe'll pay, just say it.â
hawks shrugged, examining his fingers as he suddenly spoke quickly and quietly. âlet's just say a cloaked man bought the information out of me. wanted bakugo katsuki's addresses and affiliates, former jobs and things he'd been involved with. he offered a lot of money, so my hands were tied. you get it.â a smile broke out onto his face, âbut a little birdie told me he trained under eraserhead, i'll give you that for free since i caused you some problems.â
âwe already figured that out asshole.â katsuki grumbled. âthanks for your help hawks. ah.. he's just upset, and to be frank i am too.â midoriya said, his voice gaining unusual stoicism in the latter half of the sentence. âyou caused issues for me, you know that right? and you can't even give me his identity⊠it's just an utter disgrace.â
hawks put his hands up in mock surrender, âhey, hey. i didn't say i didn't know who he was. but, fact is that it'd cause you a lot of money to buy his identity in full, you know i'd have to break my code for that.â
âyou didn't mind when you sold out bakugo though, did you?â todoroki muttered, flipping a coin in his hand.
âheh, yeah.. i guess i do owe it to you all then. well it's settled,â hawks clapped his hands, âi'll just give you the gang they work under for free.â he slid an envelope over to midoriya. âthanks for the business, sorry for the trouble bakugo.â he rushed out as quickly as he came, the sound of the car speeding out the runway the only thing heard while midoriya tore through the envelope.
written in red ink, with a small smiley face on the very corner, was the name of the gang. âshiketsu?â
midoriya yelled shocked.
they had recently just called a ceasefire to the years of carnage spread between the gangs, the handshake all might did with shindo signified it.
âwhy would they attack bakugo? it just doesn't make sense.â iida pondered, âthough, i guess he did rough a lot of them up back in the wars we had.â
âbut there's no reason for them to hold it against them, we had an agreement. we all drank together and everything!â kirishima exclaimed, his hands gesturing around.
âwe'll have to go over there ourselves.. likely someone has held something against kacchan for a while.â midoriya ordered. âget your things ready, i don't want any weapons noticeable. concealed and carried, burners too.â
âgot it.â they all agreed in unison and got prepared. katsuki was hit with a wave of nostalgia at the notion, putting his favorite gun in his hilt. he always carried, even now, but it was different. this was different.
as he loaded into the car, fist bumping kirishima, he felt almost nervous. he hadn't done anything like this in a while, let alone go to a gang that clearly had something against him. against you.
the ride was quick, kirishima and kaminari blabbing on about how cool it was for him to be back, patting him on the back and smiling. assuring him that they'll find the guy who did this and punt him to the ground.
katsuki could only hope they were right.
they arrived outside the club, walking in immediately to the back. at the sight of deku they opened the doors, nodding at him slightly while letting the group in.
âkacchan, you come with me. everyone else,â he moved to face them, âstay here. on guard, and play nice.â katsuki followed behind him, moving to shindoâs head court. they had to go down an elevator, it was odd really. the last time he was here it was to beat the fuck out of him, and now it was to ask why the hell he picked a fight. with his wife.
it was now six in the damn morning, katsuki was as pissed as ever, midoriya telling him to cool down or he'd leave him behind.
he was a hypocrite though, as he walked in uninvited, a displeased air surrounding him. shindo, who usually invited him over randomly, always accommodating his presence as they were good friends, noticed this odd aura. âmidoriya, what brings you here? seems you're not happy with me.â
midoriya took a breath and sighed. âi don't think you would betray me shindo, but facts are facts. one of my menâ sorry former men,â he gestured over to katsuki, âhad a loved one attacked.â
âthat's horrible.â shindo commented, âyou don't think i did that though.â
ânot you specifically, but.. hawks himself said the one who did was associated with shiketsu.â
âhawks??â shindo almost jumped out of his seat. âwell it wasn't me.. definitely not. couldn't have been any of my closest blood either, the only ones who it could've been..â he snapped his fingers like a realization dawned upon him.
âmust've been this newbie seiji and his quadrant. he's a new guy, a sniper, he had a crazy good background. he worked foââ
âeraserhead. right?â katsuki finally had spoken, stepping forward. âright. well, i caused you two a bit of problems huh? lll help you locate him. that's all though.â shindo stood up, handing them a tracking device.
âa tracker?â midoriya questioned, eyebrow raised. âall fresh blood are unknowingly tracked. it's just protocol here, you get it.â shindo shrugged sheepishly.
âright.. remind me to not get on your bad side.â deku joked, laughing about some nonsense joke. katsuki guessed he'd temporarily forgot about the situation, so he snatched the tracker out his hand. âhey!â
âthis isâŠ,â his heart dropped, hands sweaty and shaking slightly as he started to recognize. the street names, the buildings, his building.
âwhy is this fucker close to my house?!â
all of their eyes collectively shot up. you were home, did it already get out that you were alive?
heart pounding, katsuki went rogue. he blasted out of the room, ignoring midoriyaâs calls behind him. shoving past his blood and the people in the club, only one thing on his mind: you.
kirishima chased after him as he'd ran into the parking lot of the club, hot wiring a sports car and speeding off.
he threw the burner over to kirishima. âcall her, now.â kirishima barely caught the phone, the car drifting and slamming him to its sides so often he felt queasy. âchill out bro!â he dialed the number, but you weren't picking up. he had it on speaker, so the voicemail tone was heard.
âagain.â katsuki ordered, his hands gripping the wheel. âcall her again.â
âfuckâ she's not answering man. we're almost there, she'll be fine.â
âyou don't know that. thatâ that crazy bitch is there.â the tracker now found itself in kirishimaâs other hand, the location reading inside his house. âyoure not gonna want to hear this.â
âdon't fucking tell me. we're here.â he barely pulled in to the driveway when he jumped out the car, braking it abruptly. âback me up.â was all he said as he continued moving forward, not looking back.
he walked up to the door, doing his best to stay quiet as he hopped your white fence and entered through the glass door. he saw you.. and.. surely enough a man he's never seen before.
you seemed off as he barged in, unmoving as he screamt, â[name]! move now!â.
at your silence and stillness, he walked closer to you. only to stop at the red dot aimed at your forehead.
âkatsuki. don't move, please.â you were crying, tears streaming down your face as your hands shook. your knees looked like they were about to falter under your extreme fear, your eyes wide and horrified. âstay back.â
he stilled as well, noting the man who had just the rifle at point blank range. he smirked at katsuki, who had his fists balled in anger. kirishima hadn't revealed his presence, hidden behind the sliding door of your home.
âi don't like to leave my work unfinished, you know?â the man said, keeping his finger close to the trigger as he continued speaking. âi don't know how or why, but she managed to avoid my first shot. man my teacher would be pissed.â
âeraserhead?â
âyeah, eraser. he told me all about how you embarrassed my blood a couple years back. how you drove over half the members to the brink of death.â
âyeah, i did do that.â he felt weird talking about this in front of you, you never like it when he spoke about his job in front of you, and now was no different. other than the bullet in your direction. âthere's a cease now. we're okay, the fucking shit is over.â
âwho gives a fuck? not me. youâ you expect me to believe they don't want you dead? that they don't hold some shit against you?â
âthey don't. put down the gunâ she's not even involved in this.â he slowly moved forward, his hand nearing his gun.
âstay back! or i'll shoot.â he hung his finger right over the trigger, âi'll blow her brains out. back the fuck up.â
katsuki stilled, âdon't do this. why her? why not me if you're problem is with me?â
the man scoffed, purple hair covering his eye as he sneered. âbecause i know that wouldn't hurt you as much as this. as much as killing her in front of you. you're life must've always been disposable, all of us are. normal people don't join gangs.â he laughed, continuing on and on about something as katsuki tried to grab his gun without him noticing.
âwhoâ who fucking tipped you off huh?â katsuki grumbled, attempting to take his attention off his wandering hands.
âwell, it started with shinsou. i stole a couple of his bullets, real easy. that dumbass is trusting as long as you're associated with his teacher.â the guy laughed, âhawks though? i offered him a crazy number, asking for your addresses and shit. he gave in easily.â
he eyed the hand towards katsukiâs waist. âdrop your gun, do you think i'm fucking stupid?â
katsuki tsked, âyou sure do look it,â pulling out the silver ghost and putting it on the floor. it fell by his feet. âkick it away, ill ignore that remark since im feeling gracious.â he did so, making it ricochet off your foot.
filled with a newfound sense of confidence, the man chuckled, going closer to you. he brought his body closer, gun still pointed at you. he was rambling now, his words weren't anything katsuki was focused on. he was looking at his moments, waiting. waiting for a moment to strike, a moment of weakness, something.
and he saw it. his gun faltered, the weight of the large sniper not meant to be freely held in the air finally affecting him, as he had to switch hands to keep supporting it. he was quick to try and fix its position.
but katsuki was quicker, headbutting his stomach. a shot rang out, thankfully the gun had been pointed towards the ceiling, only hitting a random area in the roof. the two on the floor were fighting, fists full of rage as they pushed each other.
the sound of smashed bones and hits so strong katsuki knew they'd bring bruises to his knuckles the next day rang throughout the room, they were both in blinded rage.
after they had been knocked away from eachother, they eyed the gun next to them, chests heaving and body parts broken. they lurched towards the gun, the purple haired man closer to it.
he was going to grab it first, katsuki internally panicked, but the sight that came after only made him worry more.
the sight of you grabbing the gun out of his reach.
you had picked up the gun. you who could barely stomach stomping bugs or killing wasps. you who hated watching horror movies because doing that to people seemed so cruel. you, who had cried when he taught you how to shoot a gun, hoping that this situation would only pop up in his worst nightmares.
you who shakily held up the gun towards the manâs head, making him scoff. âput down the gun, princess. you won't do it.â
your chest was heaving, your knees felt like they were about to give out. your heart was racing, your fingers fumbling over the trigger. âb-back away.â
katsuki didn't know what to say, neither did kirishima who'd burst in from behind you. if he told you to put down the gun, you'd both be in danger. he could take it from you and kill all of you. fuck, why did this have to happen?
âput down the gun, little girl. you're not cut out for this life, so just hand it over. maybe you'll see your husband in purgatory, sure as hell not going to the same place though.â his hand was nearing the gun, his head was so close to the barrel. your hands shook, your eyes closed, eyebrows scrunched, a shaky exhale escaped your lips. katsuki recalled that look from ever shot he'd made you shoot at a range, the face you made when you finally grew enough courage.
â[name]!â
the man's eyes widened as you shot him, point blank rage. his blood splattered over your hello kitty pajamas, but you'd never forget the look on his face when you opened your eyes. the white of his eyes staring at you, the hole that pierced his head and ruined the white of your carpet, the hand that had tried to cover his wound in the millisecond that he had left of his life.
people, people you didn't recognize barged in to the front of your house. they didn't look horrified at the corpse at the floor, they looked more scared of you.
you'll never forget how they all treated you. approaching you like you were a nut case, coaxing you to throw the gun away from you like you didn't want to run away from this whole situation. baby-talking you like you were insane.
you'd never regretted marrying katsuki, but standing here. bloodied and a murderer. that was the first straw for you.
but like always, he'd save you from the mess. when the gun dropped to the floor, on top of the body with a sickening clank! he grabbed you, carrying you up to your shared room.
in your solitude you sobbed, wailing into his chest like you'd done just a day prior. the sun had just risen, illuminating your tears as you shook on your shared bed.
he held you close, reading your mind. âyou're not a monster, or a murderer.â
âhow can you say that though? i just killed him!â your eyes widened, heart beating like crazy. âit was self defense, he would've killed us all. you did good [name].â he held your face in his hands, letting you see him with his bruised and cut up face.
âyou saved me. you saved yourself. you saved anyone that would've been targeted by that freak.â
you finally calmed down enough to go shower. the blood washing off your body didn't help to calm down the storm brewing in your head, the anxiety overcoming you, but he did. he always did.
as he helped rinse the blood of your face, your arms and where it'd been caught in your stomach, replacing it with suds of rosy soap that he'd bought because it âsmelledâ like you, the voices in your head came to a slow stop.
he was the only one who understood, the only one who had gotten his hands bloodied the same way as you, even worse. as he held you that night, whispering sweet nothings into your ear, holding your body close to his as if you were to disappear, you felt normal again.
all traces of the body were gone the next morning, the dent in the ceiling the only remnants of the situation. as katsuki cooked breakfast for the two of you, you couldn't believe how regular it all felt.
how nothing seemed changed, how when kirishima and kaminari came over to cheer you up and check on the two of you they didn't seem phased. how you all sat around your dining room table as normal, katsuki drinking his black coffee while holding your hand under the table, all of you joking around as regular.
how when you went back to your bakery everything was fixed already, a little green sticky note standing out from the display case that was empty because of your absence.
âsorry for the inconveniences mr and mrs. bakugo, take this as our apologies.â
-midoriya, shindo
there were two small doodles of them on the corner, making you laugh as you gawked at the renovation done to your lovely little shop.
you showed it to katsuki who only scoffed, a small smirk on his face as he looked over the fresh paint, tiles, and replaced tables. âdamn nerds.â
you didn't feel so up to baking today, which katsuki understood perfectly. you left the store hand in hand, noticing how the glass of the entrance had been fixed too.
you'd walked to the ramen shop you'd had your first date at, taking the booth in the corner like always. katsuki held your hand, clinging to you more than usual.
he barely let you out of his sight, even offering to feed you, which made you laugh and smack his chopsticks away.
âhey, 'suki.â you asked, poking his side. âit's over right? you're coming home?â
he nodded, swallowing his food before answering. âassholeâs off the streets, that's all i wanted for you, and for us babe.â
âew don't kiss me when you just ate!â
âdo you not love me woman?! we almost fucking died!â
what you didn't know wouldn't hurt you, that's what katsuki thought as he reasoned his white lie.
he pondered how he'd make it up to you. technically he didn't do anything wrong in your eyes but he'd still feel internally guilty. he'd take you out to all your favorites, get you a new purse, do all the chores for a week. that sounded good to him as he made his way back to HQ, his hands in his pockets as midoriya eyed him with a knowing look.
you shouldn't and wouldn't want to know about his true final day right? how he'd ordered kirishima and kaminari do round up the rest of the quadrant. how he'd told them to leave them all for him in the basements of the HQ.
how he truly earned back his reputation of being explosive, leaving the three assholes who'd dared to conspire with a guy like that mangled and unrecognizable. if not for the names written in sharpie on their arms he wouldn't have remembered which one was which either.
he dropped the hammer from his hand, looking down at his work with a sense of satisfaction. he changed out of his clothes into the clean ones he came in with, throwing the bloodied ones into an incinerator.
he let iida and shoto handle the bodies, they were always good at leaving them left without a trace. fast too.
he thought about you the entire walk home. he felt giddy at the thought of seeing you again, excited to just exist in your presence. he stretched his body, working up the courage to see you as he opened the door.
âbabe, you're home! where have you been?â you crashed into his chest, tightening your hold around him as you hugged him.
âout, finishing up loose ends yâknow.â
as you looked up at him, trust and love in your eyes he knew.
he knew that he'd go back, leave, and kill all in a vicious cycle if it all meant coming back to you at the end.
because you were his everything, so he'd do anything for you.
Not to be incredibly vulgar and nasty or anything, but Iâd like to close my eyes and rest my head in somebodyâs lap while they run their fingers through my hair
