Why some Africans or Nigerians are 'coons' and people feel that have low racial self-esteem, is due to colonisation.

Lose yourself in the shimmering world of Nigerian juju
One of Africa's greatest musical ambassadors, King Sunny Adé showcases the hypnotic beauty of juju on this mesmerising track.
Why did some missionary schools in Nigeria want girls to shave their heads?
During the colonial era, Christian mission schools didn’t just teach reading and writing.
They also introduced European ideas about discipline, appearance, modesty, and “proper” behaviour.
For some Nigerian girls, this extended to strict rules around their hair and appearance.
Hair that once carried cultural meaning and was styled according to local traditions could now be treated as something that needed to be controlled, simplified, or removed.
But the story is more complicated than simply “missionaries hated African hair.”
Mission schools were part of a much larger effort to reshape education, family life, religion, and social behaviour according to European Christian values.
And some of those school rules survived long after colonial rule ended.
How much of what we consider “normal” school discipline today actually comes from the colonial era?

Nigerian Pride 🏳️🌈🇳🇬
I meant to have this out yesterday. Happy belated pride. :)
forgot how white this website is and expected there to be more uproar about the US bombing my home country, nigeria, on christmas day. my mistake!
People don't care about the pain and suffering of Black people, especially African people, Afrophobia is so normalised that being seen as an African on the Internet is a slur. Being seen as a Nigeria will limit opportunities for you. It is quite sad that despite the amount of greatness and talent Africans have exported, we will always be seen as a third world continent and a dumping ground for industrial wastes, neo-colonisation, and seen as a caricature for western media.
Thankfully, we don't need validation from white people, the people whose ancestors enslaved and colonised a whole continent, that raped and murdered children.
I love Being African
I love being black.
I AM black, I am forever a Black woman!!!. AND I am proud to be Nigerian. AND AN IGBO WOMAN!!!!!
I am a black African woman who happens to love Michael Jackson, because why not?
Today, Congo is still being affected, genocide is ongoing. As we raise awareness for Palestine, we should raise awareness for all countries, all African countries being affected by genocide and ethnic cleansing
begging fellow nonblack people to take antiblackness seriously. this includes digital blackface. why are all your memes and reaction images depicting Black people showing any sort of emotion. why do you find it acceptable to use AAVE as a "joke". remove your head from your ass and ponder that for a moment.
