Dinah looked at the fridge contents with a grimace. The power clearly had gone out while she’d been away. No leftovers for her tonight. She grabbed a trash bag and swept the contents into it before tying it up tightly to keep in the smell.Â
Might as well go out and check out the city while she got dinner.
Dinah changed, dumped the trash, and picked up a cubano from the deli before finding a perch downtown overlooking a stretch of alleyway that contained a series of clubs and bar entrances.
It was good to be back.Â
Now she just had to wait for trouble to show up.

Yup. Not dead. Idk if anyone is still looking at this poor abandoned blog anymore, but if you are feel free to hit me up. I'll be cleaning things up this week and diving back in 100% next week.

“Yes.” Dinah put her full weight down on her right foot and immediately hissed in pain.
“No. Well. Maybe. Call it a shuffling hop.” Dinah braced herself against the wall. “You alright?”
Who would have guessed they’d wired the staircase to blow?
She should have. That’s who.

“On the plus side, I think I’m in the basement now.”
Ms. Lance:
“What can I say? I’ve got a penchant for attracting attention.” Dinah quipped as she took his hand. Now they had half the time to find the vault in the basement, break in, and then get out. That was nice.
“Sorry, I know this slows us down.”
“We’ll manage,” he replied, helping her walk, “If the vault wasn’t damaged from that explosion, that is. How about we let me go first this time, so we don’t run into any more traps?”
“I think that would be wise.” Her foot hurt like hell, but if she absolutely had to she could move on her own. She couldn’t hold out for long though, so it was best to save that option for an emergency.
As far as fighting, she wasn’t concerned. Anything beyond what Slade could handle, which wouldn’t be much, she could use the Canary Cry for. She’d already attracted enough attention at this point.
“That you have.” Dinah frowned a little. “I think in a normal family that would be a bad thing.”
Roy let out a snort. “Since when have we ever been normal?”

“I’m fine,” Slade said in response, looking down the hole where the staircase once was, wood splinters sticking out in every direction. He swung himself over the edge, landing in a roll near where Dinah was.Â
Getting to his feet, he held out his hand as an alternative to the wall, “We should get moving, that explosion likely attracted attention.”
“What can I say? I’ve got a penchant for attracting attention.” Dinah quipped as she took his hand. Now they had half the time to find the vault in the basement, break in, and then get out. That was nice.
“Sorry, I know this slows us down.”
“Probably.” Dinah laughed. “But the catch with this one is that Ollie doesn’t hear a single word about it.”
“I can manage that, scouts honor.” And though Dinah couldn’t see her, Roy held up three fingers anyway. “I think i’ve gotten pretty decent at keeping secrets over the years.”Â
“That you have.” Dinah frowned a little. “I think in a normal family that would be a bad thing.”
