When I say, “I am a Christian,” I’m not shouting, “I am saved.” I’m whispering, “I get lost.” That is why I chose this way.
When I say, “I am a Christian,” I don’t speak of this with pride. I’m confessing that I stumble and need someone to be my guide.
When I say, “I am a Christian,” I’m not trying to be strong. I’m professing that I am weak and pray for strength to carry on.
When I say, “I am a Christian,” I’m not bragging of success. I’m admitting I have failed and cannot ever pay the debt.
When I say, “I am a Christian,” I’m not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are too visible but God believes I’m worth it.
When I say, “I am a Christian,” I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, which is why I seek HIS name.
When I say, “I am a Christian,” I do not wish to judge. I have no authority. I only know I’m loved.

I love this.
the enemy will trick us into believing and creative these lives that people who left us went on to be happy and successful and we were here still bitter and that they went to build a life without you and that adds to the bitterness
some pain is meant to break you from going back to who you used to be. sometimes you have to be broken over and over again to get you not to go back.
Everything has seasons, and we have to be able to recognize when something’s time has passed and be able to move into the next season. Everything that is alive requires pruning as well, which is a great metaphor for endings.
Henry Cloud (via heyitsmayra)
Most birds were created to fly. Being grounded for them is a limitation within their ability to fly, not the other way around. You, on the other hand, were created to be loved. So for you to live as if you were unloved is a limitation, not the other way around. Living unloved is like clipping a bird’s wings and removing its ability to fly. Not something I want for you. Pain has a way of clipping our wings and keeping us from being able to fly. And if left unresolved for very long, you can almost forget that you were ever created to fly in the first place.

If God is good and God is good to me, then I must fill in the gaps of all the unknowns of my life with a resounding statement of trust: God is good at being God. I don’t have to figure my present circumstances out. I don’t have to fill the silence left behind in another person’s absence. I don’t have to know all the whys and what-ifs. All I have to do is trust. So in quiet humility and without a personal agenda, I make the decision to let God sort it all out. I sit quietly in His presence and simply say, “God, I want Your truth to be the loudest voice in my life. Correct me. Comfort me. Come closer still. And I will trust. God, You are good at being God

Stop chasing people. If they block you, cut off contact, ignore you… Let them go. Let those who naturally gravitate to you enjoy your energy. We spend so much time begging for those who wouldn’t blink twice at the thought of you. Cherish those who are there by choice, and not there because you chased them every time they decided to escape.
everyone: “but youre doing so well in school”
me: i am literally dying i dont know who i am and im a shell of myself. i cant remember one thing i did last week, everything is a blur and i some how simultaneously sleep all the time and never sleep
Reminder: guarding your heart isn’t just about love and relationships.
Anytime you’re gonna grow, you’re gonna lose something. You’re losing what you’re hanging onto to keep safe. You’re losing habits that you’re comfortable with, you’re losing familiarity.
James Hillman (via peoniesandparkavenue)
not every relationship can be saved
not every relationship is worth saving
To find peace, sometimes you have to be willing to lose your connection with people, places and things that all create noise in your life.

Go to Jesus, whatever it is that is on your heart, take it to the one who knows your heart. Let Him be the constant in this world of inconsistencies; let Christ be the rock that you build your life on, because He is the only foundation that will stand in the season of pain. He is all that we need, so return to Him, and be restored.

me: does nothing for five days
me: today is a "me" day I deserve it I need to relax
Let people miss you. Sometimes when you make yourself available, they take you for granted because they think you’ll always be around.
