[Tea ] - Just what it says on the tin! The only teas offered are Mint, Bergamot, Sweet-Apple Blend, Albinean Berry Blend, and Southern Fruit Blend, wrapped in small tea bags. Clever students bring their own tea.
When was the last time they could sit together and enjoy a cup of tea? The merriment of the evening was in full swing, but Lachesis preferred to sit back and catch the gaze of her beloved daughter. Nanna, pure as fallen snow and yet a hardened warrior. She could not be more proud.
"Come here, Nanna. I've waited all night to see you," Lachesis' voice sings. "And how lovely you look!" The lioness gives Nanna a twirl, taking in all off her pink gown, as if in bloom.
Lachesis pats a seat beside her, pulling up the tea. "In truth, it makes my heart beam with happiness to see you now. You've become such a wonderful lady, Nanna. I'm beyond joyful I'm here to see it. Nanna....my daughter."
A hand reaches out to cup Nanna's cheek, so soft and sweet. Yet, before Lachesis realizes, a tear of her own has escaped. It seems like no time at all has passed from birth till now but the lioness knows, can feel it in her bones the effort and hours Nanna has put in.
"Let us stay together like this," she breathes, hand slipping into an embrace, pulling Nanna closer.
"I love you so much," Lachesis closes her eyes, and she finds home.
"........" Nanna shimmied from side to side shyly, hands behind her back. "...You have?" She had half the heart to tell her mother that she had been observing her for more than a dozen heartbeats... But to think...! Her mother had been looking for her, too. "I suspect I know why it took you so long to find me..." Nanna jested, pink dashed over her cheeks as she reconsidered how it might sound to her mother to know Nanna had her eyes set to gold and blue for the night.
"...Oh...!" She gasped, hand aloft, body lifting to twirl. A free flowing laughter broke from her throat, as she spun to her mother's touch. "...."
"You are too good to me, mother." Nanna's eyes glimmered quietly, strong flames stoked for the evening full of indulgences. As she rested, both heels landing safely by her mother's side, Nanna pulled up beside her to enjoy the assortment of teas that were resting on a pulley cart. She hummed, holding up a tin of Earl Grey to her mother's cheek. "Shall I make you some...? I don't recall what you used to like drinking, but I've gotten quite good at--"
Before Nanna could catch her breath, her mother enveloped her in an embrace that melted away all pretenses. She felt her shoulders relax, spine unfurling, as her resolve weakened to that of a child. "....Hehe."
Pressing her hand to ease her mother into a gentler hug, Nanna nodded into her mother's shoulder. "Mother..." Her fingers curled tighter, rippling her mother's silks into tight pools under her pads. "..."
She closed her eyes, breathing snagged in her throat. Ah.
She does not allow Pandora's Box to open in its entirety. Just that she knows what she's sealed inside, and how long she's kept this smile running on fumes. What she's lacked, what she's desired, what little mettle she has to face the world. All of it, sealed into her chest for so very long. The lid cracked open, just an inch. "I love you."
"I'm glad you were looking for me this time."
