~ Descending Lost Star
Shit.
Yuusei immediately turned around when he heard Jack’s voice. Now that they were face to face, Jack had most likely recognised him. It would be reckless to run away, Jack would simply send men after him and he would get caught before he could make it out of the city. The only option was to talk him into giving him the key and letting him go.
If there were two things Yuusei was sure of, it was that he would not leave without the key and that Jack’s stubbornness was legendary.
The two of them stared at each other a moment before Yuusei eventually broke the silence. “You know why I’m here, Jack. Give me the key.” He firmly said. “I just want to get Stardust back. You won’t hear of me ever again after tonight.”
His stained name and pride as a dragon tamer was nothing compared to Stardust’s pained cries he could hear at night. If the price to pay was to simply disappear never to be heard of again, he would not hesitate one second. Besides, he knew well he was at disadvantage, his leeway was more than limited. Say all you want about me, but leave Stardust out of this.
Well, well, well. This was certainly amusing. Yusei had come crawling back to Jack for the key, then? Not like it'd do him much good; Jack didn't even know where the key was. He smirked. There must have been a way to have fun with this, to kick Yusei while he is down. Jack would find a way to accomplish this.
"Who says I'll give it to you?" Jack asked. Not that he could, even if he did want to. "I could report you right now, and I really will never hear from you again." What was Yusei thinking? Did he honestly believe Jack would have simply handed it over to him? God. It seemed like Yusei had truly never met Jack Atlas
He placed a hand on his hip. "You're not allowed in the city anymore, Yusei. Go back to your new home." He knew Yusei wasn't going to go anywhere, but surely Yusei would've understood Jack by now.
Though, Jack did know that all Yusei wanted was Stardust and, for a moment, he considered just looking for the key. But he could not show weakness now, not after everything he had gained through being so cold. There was so much more to gain, and he would not give Yusei the chance to take it all back.
{ Two Kings }
♕ His expression didn’t change in the slightest, as he stared to blond down. Given his background and surroundings, Haou was likely out of place there, but simply crossed his arms over his armored chest, his lips still closed in a muted line.
♕ Meat huh…that made the dark clad male inwardly laugh. Haou didn’t speak to peasants. Though, the Supreme King was a sight to behold. Clothed in his fine lacquered armor, gloves and boots decorated the same. His long cape tucked at his shoulders, and his neck piece, surrounding his head.
"It's June, by the way. Didn't you get the memo? Halloween isn't until October," Jack added. How was that guy not dying in that thick clump of armour? How was he still standing? Maybe he needed some water.
He kept staring at Jack. God, he wished he wouldn't; those golden eyes were way too weird.

Whoever invented reading lists should have been whacked with every single heavy book that they put on these stupid things. Not only that, but it meant running in circles trying to find all of these stupid things. But it was fine - Jack only had one left. And he was lucky, because it was the last of its kind.
Another young man with black hair and golden bits grabbed it right before he could, though. As he walked away, Jack saw red.
"You." The young man turned around to face Jack, confused by the sudden aggression. "Give me that book.""I need it," he said."I need it, too!" Jack said.
Honestly, Jack didn't know what the other guy said. He didn't remember much of what happened after all. All he knew was that the two of them had to be separated by force and escorted out of the store. Jack was in a lot of pain, and he was dizzy as hell, and he could not, for the life of him, determine what the cause of the fight was.
The new term started well. Jack sat down for his first class, having found all of his books after a lot of searching. But among his classmates, he saw one familiar face.
"You," he whispered under his breath. He found the guy from the bookstore. He would have his revenge.

Yuusei had already thoroughly searched half of the house (if he had to guess, these corridors didn’t seem to end). Nothing. He froze when he heard someone walking. He stayed hidden in the shadows until the moving light of the candle the person was carrying disappeared. If someone was awake and wandering around the house, Yuusei couldn’t afford to make a single mistake. He sneaked out of the room he was in and entered the next one. Still nothing. But Yuusei wasn’t losing hope. The key was here, somewhere.
After making sure that if was safe to get out, Yuusei moved to the next room. The door was open. It seemed to be a bedroom. It was extremely richly decorated and even in the dark, Yuusei could perceive several paintings, statues, and expensive pieces of furniture. It was tacky, bombastic, almost suffocating and Yuusei knew exactly where he was. This room had to be Jack’s. And the chances that the key was here somewhere were very high. What better humiliation for Yuusei. It was like Jack to proudly keep something precious to his rival.
Unfortunately Jack wasn’t in his bed. It was likely that he was the one Yuusei had heard earlier. In the urgency, Yuusei quickly began to search the room. He didn’t know for how long Jack would be out.
Jack tiptoed back to his room once he had finished his business. As he approached, he heard someone rifling through his things. Loudly. Jack wasn't sure what to do; if he knocked the stranger unconscious, he wouldn't know what they wanted. Not only that, but there was the chance he could kill them, and he was not ready to deal with the repercussions of that crime. Still, he grabbed a stick he could use as a weapon.
He leaned a little into the room, keeping the candle out of sight. Jack couldn't see much; a shadowy figure was rifling through his things. He couldn't make out any details, not even what gender the stranger was. With a tight grip on his weapon, he barged into his room.
"What the hell is this?!" Jack asked, his stick raised. He swore that, with the candle light, he could make out some of the stranger's feature. For a moment, he wondered...did he know them?

It had taken a long time for Yuusei prepare his escape but that night, finally, he would be able to get out.
He had met amazing people in the work camp who had sworn to help him. Together with Kiryuu and Crow, they had come up with a plan. After a few bad surprises and even though Kiryuu and Crow had been caught in the process to distract the guards, Yuusei had been able to leave unnoticed. He had until morning before they would notice he was missing.
The work camp wasn’t that far from the city, it took Yuusei less than half an hour to get there. He already knew exactly what he had to do. The key to Stardust’s cage would be at Jack’s place. After all, all dragon matters had to be taken care of by tamers and members of the Atlas family were the last tamers in town.
It was late at night, Yuusei didn’t come across many people in the streets, he had picked the least frequented lanes and was moving quickly. The Atlas family was living downtown in the most prestigious part of the city, as well as the best guarded. Yuusei couldn’t afford to try to think of the best way to break in, he could be spotted at any moment. He jumped over the fence of the household and found a place to climb to the window. Everything was silent inside, there was no light either and it would make Yuusei’s search both easier and a lot harder. This house was big and Yuusei couldn’t see a thing but he knew he couldn’t give up now, he had to find that key.
Jack kept the key to Stardust's cage hidden in his own room, kept inside its own locked box. He didn't know where the key had gone. He probably threw it away. After all, why should he have cared about someone else's dragon? If it hadn't been thrown away, it would have been somewhere among his no longer cared for belongings that he stashed away in a corner. But he didn't really think about the key, so to him, it did not matter.
That night, Jack was sleeping soundly in his bed, snoring a little. His own dream shoved him out of his sleeping state, waking him up immediately. He didn't know what happened and, frankly, he was certain he did not want to know. He shuffled out of bed and made his way to get a drink of some sort, trying to remain quiet.
Jack swore he heard something at one point, yet simply dismissed it as another family member who had woken up at this time of night. The possibility of intruders did not cross Jack's mind, not with how heavily guarded the Atlas home was.
Besides, he was tired, and it was probably messing with his mind a little bit. After this, Jack could crawl back into bed. Though he would have been lying if he said it didn't freak him out a little bit. He could take care of himself if it came down to it. It wouldn't have done; Jack led a simple life.
Her eyes sparkled being amazed by the duel. Duelists moving left to right to get the action cards while preforming so greatly. "Wow, this is amazing"she said clapping her hands together. She reached for her popcorn and felt a hand under her's..
"Huh?"
She her eyes motioned upward to a blonde haired man whose face was stuffed with popcorn, her popcorn. She then looked at her hand and pulled it away from his with her face turning pink. "W-What are you doing eating my food?" she stuttered.
"What does it look like?" Jack asked, almost as if the answer was obvious. To him, it was. "I'm hungry."
Logically, he should have gotten up and gotten his own, and he was well aware of that. But he did not want his seat to be stolen, nor did he really feel like squeezing by overzealous duel nuts.
Okay, maybe stealing from a little girl was a bad idea. Jack knew that. But he also knew he was hungry for popcorn. It wasn't like he'd taken the whole box.

Lights!Camera! Action Duel! The King has arrived!!!
“ACTION DUEL”
The crowd roared in excitement with their hands in the air and their signs waving. Action Dueling was pretty much what Miami City is known for and attracted tons of tourists because of it.
The Action Duel Stadium is where most people go to watch the Entertainment Duelists do their thing. Although sadly the place is often crowded by people which made it hard for Yuzu to get to her seat.
"E-Excuse me!" she said as she tried walking through the narrow path of seats while trying to hold the food that she bought without spilling it. To be honest, it was very frustrating for her especially since the duel started and not much people would be happy if someone blocked their view.
Finally, she was able to sit in her seat and watch the show as the duel continued. A smile appeared on the pink-haired girl’s face showing her excitement.
Jack was unimpressed. He did like duelling, but this? This was not his sort of thing. He preferred duels with more action, not duels that felt more like going to see a Broadway show. But then again, what did he know? He was just a tourist.
He was told to experience more forms of duelling, but this was something he could not see himself doing. Plus, these duellists seemed weak. Please, he had seen better duellists than this and half these duellists' ages.
A pink-haired girl sat next to him with an arm full of snacks and food. It looked tempting, but Jack did not feel like moving to get his own. And the girl looked so preoccupied with the duels. Then, maybe...
While she wasn't looking, he took some of her popcorn. He ate a couple before realising it wasn't the kind he liked, but this was what he got for being lazy. He was too hungry to care.

~ Descending Lost Star
Dragon tamers have always been the pride of a city, treated like kings and highly respected. Ever since Yuusei was a child, he had been told tales about his illustrious ancestors, about how lucky he was to be born in the Fudou family and how he had to carry his name with pride.
Children born from tamers were all given a dragon egg at their birth. Those were rare and only tamers were allowed to keep such creatures as they were said to have an affinity with them that most humans didn’t have. It would be their companion until the very end and would accept no other master. After its tamer’s death, the dragon would let itself die. There wasn’t a more faithful creature.
Stardust was the name that had been chosen for Yuusei’s as there happened to be a meteor shower the night it hatched and Yuusei was born. Its silver wings and pale scales would reflect the night sky through the window as the two new-borns were fast asleep cuddling close in Yuusei’s cradle.
In the years that followed, Yuusei had proved himself to be a brilliant tamer, he was in perfect harmony with Stardust and had showed a rare adroitness when he was flying on his dragon’s back. Even though Stardust couldn’t breathe fire, it was an extremely fast and agile dragon with very sharp claws and teeth that would gracefully rip through the air. Yuusei had grown up to be a very diligent man, the dragon feeling his master’s will and determination to get better had sworn to give the best of itself as well. They would work together, learn from the other, and ultimately lend their power for the well-being of the city.
Yuusei was much appreciated in the city as well. They all knew how hard he was working and a lot of people would compare him to his father who, before him, had been a renowned tamer before he and his wife died in an accident when Yuusei was still a child.
The Fudou family wasn’t the only family of tamers in the city. The Atlas family had settled here around the time as the Fudou family. There had always been rivalry between the two families. It’s only fair! Yuusei’s father used to say, amused. Yuusei had never really interacted with the heir of the Atlas family, Jack. He knew very little about him to be honest but the Atlas boy hadn’t showed any interest in him either.
Or so he had thought.
One night Yuusei had been dragged off his sleep by men from the military and forced out of his house. His heart had clenched when he had seen Stardust chained in the meadow nearby desperately trying to break free and surrendered by the military. He had been accused by Jack Atlas of robbery. Someone had stolen the dragon eggs of the Atlas family. “He wants to keep all the glory for his family and discredit mine!” He had said. Stealing an egg from a tamer was a serious crime and Yuusei hadn’t believed he could be accused of such thing. He had tried to defend himself, but when his house had been searched, the eggs were there. Yuusei had been found guilty as he could not explain how the eggs had ended up in his house and sentenced with the worst punishment that could be given a tamer. Stardust was taken from him. Some people had try to speak for Yuusei, saying that they could not believe that such a sweet teen would ever transgress the authority of the tamers, that he would never steal, but to no avail.
Yuusei had felt as if his heart was being ripped off when after several minutes of struggle with Jack’s dragon, the chained Stardust had been knocked unconscious and dragged away from its master. Yuusei had tried to break free, protesting, swearing he was innocent, begging, but his pleas hadn’t been heard.
Finally, after losing all of his legitimacy as a tamer, humiliated that his dragon had been taken from him and locked somewhere, a yellow marker had been forced onto him, branding him as a criminal. Criminals weren’t allowed in the city. Helpless, Yuusei had been taken to a work camp in the outskirts where he would have to work a couple of years, access to the city denied even after he would be released.
As he was working himself to exhaustion every day, he would often see Jack’s dragon in the air, flying around as if it was mocking him.
But Yuusei had sworn that he would get Stardust back.
All Jack ever heard about in the city was how great the Fudou family was. They were well-respected, and each member of the family were supposedly brilliant dragon tamers, especially the heir the the Fudou name, Yuusei. Or whatever. Jack did try not to care. But it was impossible not to care. After all, how could he when everything was always about the Fudous?
It was hardly fair that the Atlas family was just 'second-rate' compared to the great and famous Fudous. Even his family thought so. It seemed impossible to rise above them, and it seemed like the whole Atlas family, even though they still tried, had decided this was their fate. All of them, of course, except for Jack.
The idea had come to him when he was looking after Archfiend - the dragon he received as a baby and had named when he was young which, at the time, sounded really cool, but not so much now he was older. There was a way to get rid of that other family's fame and glory. He would have just had to wait until it was late enough at night, when he was certain the whole town would have been asleep.
The next morning, when Jack was checking on the dragons, he rushed back home to bring his family troubling news. "The eggs! They're missing!" he told them. "I think I saw Yuusei hanging around last night, too," he added, feigning worry. The family rushed to report this and, once they were all gone, Jack couldn't help but smirk.
He had to hide his smirk when they found the eggs that Jack had planted in the Fudou home, and he had to hide his smirk when Yuusei was cast out. And of course, it was hard to hide the smirk once Stardust was locked away. From the look the whole city had, Jack knew this would be the end of the Fudou family's reign as the top dragon tamers.
After that day began the reign of Jack's family as the top tamers. Fame and money began pouring in, when there was a time they had nothing. Jack was loving this; people cared about his and his family's work. And soon, all of this would he his. He had no plans to stop here, either; his goal was to reach a global scale one day.
As a year passed, Jack was still totally milking the fame for everything it was worth. He would be lying if he said he wasn't loving it. And he felt no guilt for his actions. It was about time that someone else enjoyed glory for a little while, anyway. In fact, he rarely even thought about Yuusei anymore. Wherever he was, it was a good riddance. He was not missed, anyway.
In this time, he had offered more to the people than the Fudous ever did. Jack had begun putting on dragon shows, showing off his family's most beautiful dragons to the public. He thought it was a spectacular event, if he said so himself. Honestly, he was proud of himself. Though he had done something morally disgusting, Jack was truly reaping the rewards.
Occasionally during these shows, he would ride on Archfiend up into the city's sky, and from below, he could hear the people's shouts of delight and clapping. Waiting for it made the applause so much sweeter and so much more appealing. Though, still, Jack wished he never had to wait for it in the first place. But now, he could not complain anymore.
Life was good to Jack. He had everything he wanted, at last. He was loved, and he had fans throwing themselves at his feet. And no one could take that away from him.
Oh? Was this man actually going to jab back? To a child? Well, physically one, at least (mentally, too, though he’d never admit to it). Maybe things would actually be entertaining, in the very least.
"You’re calling me a no-name, but I’ve never even seen you before. And I’m pretty deep in the dueling scene. I guess that’s got something to say. You may have been famous at one time, but now it seems like you’re a beached whale.”
Talking was getting him nowhere, but Jack had provoked him to the point that logical thinking flew out the window. Typical of Vector, always losing his head, even if he can keep the appearance up.
Jack raised an eyebrow. "Sorry, but I don't think they let ten year olds into the pro-leagues. Try again when your balls drop." Was he even ten? Did Jack even care? No. Not really. It didn't matter, he was still too young to go beyond local tournaments where the 'grand prize' was a free pizza or something.
"Beached whale? I look nothing like a whale!" Whales could only dream of looking as good as Jack. "At least I don't look like I rolled in a pumpkin patch and straight into Hot Topic." That jacket the boy was wearing was so...wow.
