Telasie grimaced again and sighed. “I should not have snapped.” She admitted and shook her head. “I’ve learned not to ask questions.”
“I cannot blame you for your reaction. I mention the very thing you hunt and treated it like a joke.” he bowed his head a little to her. Her reaction was telling to him; he wasn’t sure what else he expected. “There’s nothing wrong with questions.”
“There is much wrong with questions.” She corrected in a hushed tone. “Questions lead to answers, answers that tell truths. Truths? Honesty is one of life’s greatest evils.” After a moment, Telasie apologized again. “Don’t listen to me. I’m old and haggard.”
He reached out and placed his hand on her back lightly,”Honesty is only an evil depends on the truth. Even when it is a cruel truth, is it not better to know, than to be kept in the dark and lied to?
"It is better to be lied to sometimes." She confirmed, now with a borderline panicked face. Her thin body tensed considerably and she started shaking her head. "Lies can provide structure that is necessary to function."
