“It really wasn’t so much the answer, Kitty. It was like you didn’t believe in yourself, and you should. Everyone loves an underdog. Of course.”
“Well I’m not gonna keep it, am I?”
She held the book out. “Here you go. Won’t happen again, I swear.”
“Oh, I know it won’t. You’re sitting at least two seats away from me next time.” Sophia ensured, taking the book and placing in her purse.
Well you could always come with me sometime if you ever actually have time.
To New York or to the practices to see the cutie?
If her vision is compromised, you’ll stand out for handing in something easier to read.
“Of course...but what if she’s offended? Maybe I’ll just email her about it to make sure. Thank you for bringing that to my attention...name.”
“You asked me a question, I answered. That doesn’t mean I have an obligation to tell you my life story. I’m Ellie. Freshman. I’m a choreography major. Is that good enough for you?”
“Yea, but you answered like you’ve never been asked a question before, Kitty. I certainly do not want to know your life story. Something tells me it’s a tragedy. It’s too much actually. And since you’re a Freshman, you probably haven’t heard of me yet. I’m the Sophia Deaumont, and I own you now, Kitty.”
“What about the colour?”
“Oh, don’t be absurd. The color’s brilliant. It’s not like I can have it anything but black.”
It’s nice escaping to city, however the drive does get repetitive. He’s the boy Head of House and I have no idea if he’s gay or not. I haven’t figured that out yet.
Girl, that’s what I’d like the most. Actual time to relax -- or finish typing my paper without getting distracted. You know I don’t pay attention to that. Well, is he cute?
“Excuse me? I have plenty of confidence. I just don’t feel like rubbing it in everyone’s face. What’s your problem, girl? I didn’t ask for you to asess my personality.”
“Me-ow. Kitty speaks. I don’t have a problem. I thought you did. To be fair, the whole point of conversing is trying to get to know the other person -- whether it be their intentions, personality, thoughts, knowledge, etc.”
My parents insisted on day trips to New York three times a week for additional practice with the New York City Ballet. That on top of school, rehearsal here and Blake and I miserably trying to choreograph a duet…I truly think I’m dying.
Jealous -- I wish I got sent to the city three times a week. My coach comes here. Ooh, who’s Blake? Is he gay? Thank god for Dom Perignon.
“I did.. back in high school. It wasn’t exactly what I focused on though. You’re welcome.”
“Are you telling me you’re an imbecile? You must really be able to dance because you definitely didn’t get accepted on behalf of your confidence.”
“Wow, who pissed in your cereal this morning?” Maris shot back, tone short and cutting right out of the starting gates. “What dorm were you even trying to get to?”
“I could ask you the same thing, Carrot Top,” Sophia glared at him, turning on her heel to leave before he asked another question. Returning her glance, she indluged him. “One that belongs to someone tall, dark, and good with his mouth -- a clarinetist perhaps -- definitely not some scrawny, little ginger.”
“I’m a dance major. I don’t know all that much about what you’re doing. It looks really good though.”
“So am I. You’ve never taken chemistry classes? Thank you, darling.”
“So, as much as I understand that knocking isn’t a universal gesture of asking for entrance, what do you want and why are you in my room?”
“Ugh -- to get out of it, now that I see whose room it is. Very wrong dorm.”
Oh hush, you know I use you for your witty remarks and conceited banter as well. I’m amazing, taking my one day off from bloody toes in pointe shoes to actually try to enjoy life.
Oh, yea, those too. I should really start copyrighting my material. God, tell me how it’s been -- slowly. If it’s not my dance teacher, it’s my personal ballet coach riding me. I’m practicing seven days a week.

Oh, I love it when you use me for champagne. Ugh -- busy. Sometimes I hate being an overachiever, but then how else would I be greater than everyone, y;know? How about you?
