further info: prince and the poet is a fantasy novel being written by myself (frillious) and my brother tristan (kanjiknitsumi). not only do we adore the world and story and characters, we really want to get out there and published bc patp features tons of representation.
we believe that representation in literature (and everywhere else) matters to the nth degree. not only is it good for us as authors to be able to write about characters like ourselves, but its good to see who else can read our work and see themselves in the characters too, and know theyre not alone. tristan and i both know that books read at young ages influence said reader greatly, so why leave out important elements of life that many people experience?
patp introduces / discusses / normalizes the following subjects: neurodivergency, feminism, lgbtqa+, family issues, platonic bonds, diverse cultures, body positivity, and even self harm / suicide ideation
the pledges are very small ($1 and $3) and for now theyre to help give the authors the support we need in order to be able to continue writing this story, and ultimately our goal is to save up to get it officially published!
if you dont check out the patreon page, maybe check out the official blog! its still under construction (as we’re basically in our baby phase) but there should be a good amount of info to introduce you to what the book’s about. there’s also the 1st & 2nd chapters (both veerrry much wips) up for you to look at!
