“That would make the most sense wouldn’t it? Everyone goes through it. It makes perfect sense to me.” He smiled, “besides you need to catch up on the sleep you missed when you were younger and loathed sleeping.” He shrugged. “Your parents clearly missed the whole point,” he laughed.
“I’m sure it’s really who he prefers to be in his company, he would never speak such ways to other people. He can actually be incredibly polite when he wants to be.” He said softly. “When he has company he is nothing but laughter and jokes.” He continued, “I don’t see the humour in any of them but.. They seem to all enjoy it and it appeases Darren and Ashton.” He shook his head and frowned. “Prince dummy.” He said slowly as he contemplated it. “No.” He said with a mock look of distaste. “Doesn’t suit you.” He laughed and nodded. “What an honour it is. I agree, I don’t think that will work. Thank you for the offer though,” he smiled. “I think I will be okay.” He said shrugging. “That’s alright, they don’t have too do that. No these cloths would still be the better option at this point.” He said. Elan raised his eyebrows with a chuckle. “A hundred? How did I miss that?” He said, “so we must be a little close?” Elan continued. “I have to admit it did a little.” He joked. Elan didn’t think it would work at all before, how could water help? He thought except for when he was desperately thirsty and could finally get a drink after hours and hours of work, he nodded. “I do try too, I think I can say I have become very skilled in that area to some extent.”
“I suppose that’s true and logical reasoning. Just how many fond insults do you have?” He asked. “Oh well I’m happy to hear that really.. I have only been here less than a night, I would think I wouldn’t earn an insult so fast.” Elan laughed and nodded “the best? Are you positive? I think I know plenty of people who will argue for that title.” Elan let out a sigh, “I know.. I know you wouldn’t take offense.” He smiled. “I’m sorry..I didn’t.” He said stumbling over his words till he smiled and shrugged it off. “Thank you.” He frowned frustrated with himself.. “You will?” He asked, he had already gotten into a fight with eoin before and did not wish to get into another, he could recall it easily. “Wait.. A whole room?” He asked. “So is that a closet still?” He asked confused. What was a closet technically? Elan smiled happily. “I appreciate that.. I could use some good company.“he said patting eoin gently on the shoulder.
"I think they are always worth trying to explore.” He said simply. “It’s worth trying to see from another view.” He said softly. He had tried with his stepfather for a long while, maybe he could reason and try to understand.
“I believe you. It must be after all pely is.” He smiled. Illusions?“ He questioned. "You can make illusions. That sounds brilliant, that’s very impressive.” He smiled, “if you did make a large mistake I don’t think you would only be known for that..” He responded. “What are they?” He asked. Surely they couldn’t be that terrible, his kingdom was still standing and seemed to be doing well, from what he thought. Every kingdom had its problems he thought. “I can’t see how it could hurt.” He smiled. Hope had gotten him through many difficult times in his life, in his most trying moments when hope was simply all he had, Elan nodded. “You must have.. If you had magical documents, you will just have to try and discover it for yourself. It could be fun.” He shrugged.
“I hope I get there sooner rather than later.” He replied as he inspected more of the shower bottles. How could there be so many? He wondered. Which one was he supposed to use? He finally got comfortable in bed, he had tossed and turned a few more times adjusting to the new bed, his mind going over the events of that day eventually his mind cleared and he was off till a sound caused his eyes to snap open, no creaking or footsteps in the hall, a cry. Elan shot up stiffened in a familiar sickening alarm. The second cry sent him out of bed and stumbling over the sheets tangled around his feet and legs, could he be wrong? He thought frantically, not taking chances he hurried out of his room down the long empty hall. A nightmare. He thought, flashes from their earlier conversation ran through his head, is this why his friend didn’t wish to sleep, frequent nightmares? He thought. He reached his friends door, not bothering to knock he opened the door walking quickly to his friends bed, Elan notices his arms were in the air, seeming to bat away his invisible terrors. His heart felt heavy in his chest as he watched his friend wanting to stop the nightmare. "eoin” he said urgently. keeping his hands by his side, not wanting to cause further distress, “eoin wake up.” He said pleading this time a little louder, "wake up,” please wake up.“
“Exactly. It’s all a part of growing up.” he said with a nod, “It’s kinda funny though right? We hate sleeping as kids and yet we’re hyperactive, we love sleeping as teenagers and once we’re up we just wanna go back to sleep.” he chuckled, “They really did.”
“Just because he can be charming when he wants to be doesn’t make him a good person.” Eoin sighed, “I can be an adult when I have to be but well... That definitely doesn’t make a an adult all of the time.” He shrugged, “I don’t think I’d wanna be at any of his parties. And I definitely wouldn’t wanna be stuck at one with his sons.” he’d only seen them once or twice in passing, but it was enough for him. “Not Prince Dummy? Well, we’ll just have to think of something else then, huh?” he asked lightly, “It could... maybe, probably not, but hey, that’s never stopped me from trying before.” he chuckled. “Hmm... I’m not sure I agree with that, but it doesn’t matter too much, we’ll have it all fixed by tomorrow.” he grinned. “We’re definitely getting there,” he nodded, “See, all of my ideas are just great, even when they seem a little odd.” Eoin nodded slightly, “Well, it’s always nice to be skilled.”
“Of course it is. The best kind of reasoning. I’ve got... At least a good couple of dozen.” he said with a nod, “Sure, you’ve climbed up the ranks pretty quickly all things considered.” he said with a grin. “Well, I’m the one giving it out so I’ve decided who it’s going to.” Eoin cocked his head slightly, “Really? Cause I’m not wholly sure you do. I mean come on, say something mean to me.” he said, beckoning him to with a ‘come on’ gesture. “You but your backside I will.” he added with a nod. “Yea, but that wasn’t my idea. The room has been the place for a Prince’s clothing since long before I was born.” Eoin grinned at the pat, it was nice to see Elan reaching out for him for a change. “Well, luckily for you I’m good company.”
“There’s nothing wrong with trying that...” he paused, “It’s only when you’ve tried so hard but you still can’t make sense of it that I say to stop. At that point it’s only gonna hurt you.”
“Pely is unique, the first thing I every enchanted, completely by accident, and yet the spell has stuck. Better than any other spell I’ve really cast.” Eoin chuckled, “Those are pretty awesome. More than once I’ve snuck out and left behind an illusion of myself to convince my keeper I was there.” he said with a grin. “Pfft, you’d be surprised, it’s a little like being in school, if you do stupid stuff it’ll stick.” he nodded. “Well, there was Rhodri VII, he was known as Rhodri Soft-Sword... Because he grabbed a rubber sword on the way to battle... He didn’t last too long in that fight.” he added wryly. “Oh I’m gonna keep looking for them, you never know what could turn up if you keep exploring.”
Eoin kept seeing things, he should have known he was asleep. He should have been able to separate himself by now. But during his visions, it was like everything else cleared away, all he could think about was the sights before him. He didn’t hear Elan come in. He was still seeing disasters that were yet to come. Moaning at the sights and grasping at the air as he twisted and turned in the bed. “Aros.... Na!” he mumbled quite Welsh. It was going to take more than the other talking to him to wake him up.
