akatsuki no yona chapter 41: we are humans we are dragons
From his observations, when everyone got off the yacht, it’s safe to say just about everyone was tired of boats, and water. Kija didn’t mind it too much, maybe because he was use to staying in one place for quite a long time, however, it’s understandable. Even the owner of the yacht looked incredibly tired! Kija still wonders if that boy is okay, he’s pretty young, so he’s heard. Will Kyoya Gaen ever get his rest?
The island they landed on surely is incredibly splendid. This is actually the first time Kija’s been on an island actually! He’s most certainly excited to find out what wonders and surprises awaits him- especially if, like it’s implied, this place is much more different than the ‘main land’.
He’s taken aback by the talking cat. With a small gasp, he even utters something along the lines of ‘how is this possible?!’, but soon falls silent when Ninurta begins to speak [unfazed too, which amazes Kija].
The white dragon does look at the other with a confused look on his face. Eyebrow raised, which brings up the question, “What do you mean, exactly?”
One day he’ll learn what Ninurta speaks about. One day! He’s still determined to learn a lot about where Ninurta came from, but he didn’t want to prod too much.
Although, true enough, the sparkle in Kija’s eyes never leaves. Intrigued by every new smell, cart, items for sale, and the scenery, he nods, “There’s just so much to see! This island sure is impressive, is it not? It’s my first time on such a thing too…” He didn’t get out too much until he left the Hakuryuu Village, obviously. Tapping his chin thoughtfully he looks at all the items the furry friend is selling.
“What are these bottles of anyway? Are they drinks? Medicine? They’re so many colours, they must all have a unique purpose.” He mentions, and then he turns to Ninurta, “All these items are very intriguing, and fascinating! As if they came from many places… Are we in the presence of a collector, perhaps?” A pause, “Can we even buy any of this… If I may ask…”
Unless the cat takes gold coin, Kija may have some extra, but not much… Oops.
He’s use to the other asking such questions when it comes to the way Ninurta speaks but he only shakes his head just to wash the male’s worries away with a, “It’s nothing.” along with a gentle smile. It’s somewhat strange to speak like this and not be understood but perhaps it’s for the better, he has no complaints. Listening to the other’s words, “Then you must enjoy the finest things in life!” He glances over all the things before them that they can purchase and the feline’s tail moves from left to right, happy that they’re going to buy something.
Anything.
Being a youkai, he has to make a living and the way the cat watches Kija’s eyes twinkle over every little small thing does he grin :3. Ninurta does look up from time to time at the faces that the cat makes and even as Kija has yet to say what he wants to purchase, the ice dragon can tell that the feline would want the other to buy a little more. This is going to be a little tedious if he doesn’t play his cards right.
“Hm?” Looking at the bottles, he picks one up and reads a label, “Ah, it’s a type of energy drink. This one wakes you from drowsiness, this one allows you to rap like.. Nicki Minaj?” Who is Nicki Minaj, is she the greatest rapper alive? Probably. “This one allows you to.. Ah, we won’t get into that.” Picking up a few more vials, “Apparently this one allows you to read someone’s mind and a few are medicines. They look pretty interesting, hm.. Kija, have you ever wanted to read my mind and hear all the nice things I say about you?” Though he’s teasing,
“Ah, just kidding. I’d tell you them if you wanted to hear it.” Kind at heart, there’s another bottle he picks up as he continues to read the labels placed on them, they even had little drinks with balls at the bottom, a type of tapioca? The cat sees that Ninurta is eyeing it and he speaks up,
“That one isn’t for sell! You see, my cousin, 96Neko would be greatly upset if someone took her tapioca, if you see her around, tell her ‘hello’ for me.”
Whoever this 96Neko was, she must have been a good person to have something saved from the cat merchant, relative or not. Ninurta looks back to Kija, “Well, if you see anything worth purchasing, I’ll get it for you. This drinks seem interesting to try so if you want one of those as well, please, by all means. Shouldn’t you try everything there’s to offer?”
