This was the beginning of the end. Everything was so peaceful, so unharmed, free from orders, drama, training, demands, and constant berating from the powers-that-be. Life was free, living by her own rules, finally feeling like this burden that was given to her was a curse, but like a gift. She could live two lives; one of the unassuming and comforting local seamstress with a doting brother, and one of a protector, an angel of mercy. But at the chime of the church bell, sheβd failed for the first time, now vampires were running rampant all over the island. There was no way she could prove now that she deserved to stay free. They would have her chains at any moment, maybe blame her for this grief. Adriel wouldnβt rest until everything was right once again, which was what lead her into the storm. Something was coming that was bound to make this even worse than it already was. She spun around at the sound of her brotherβs voice, her breath nearly falling out of her chest. Justin. How could she tell him? Sheβd hid all of this from him for a reason; to keep him safe, to keep his birthright from being a burden on him.Β βJUSTIN!β she called back, her hand up as if to push him away,Β βDid you seriously come out into the storm by yourself!? You could get hurt! You need to go back inside now, Iβll be fine, I promise!!β She faced up towards the eye of the storm,Β βI have to do this.βΒ

The storm had been brewing, you could say that, but the truth is that it was something more than just a freak of nature storm. Every action has an equal reaction; such as a nephilim who wouldn't normally be in Heaven, making the journey to Earth once more. His arrival came with something only those who knew would suspect as evil and they'd be correct. While it would only last a few hours normally, this had dragged out as he chased his prey to the island all angels murmured of but could not necessarily step foot on yet. He lurked, waiting for a sign of the disappearing cambion to reappear only for his attention to fall on clear yelling. In fact, it seemed so close to him despite the distance between them. Romeo moved with inhuman grace, speed picking up as he entered the eye of the storm so to speak, white glowing eyes glancing between the two seemingly unlucky beings who found themselves inside it, wordlessly. For a moment he had reached a stalemate only for the cambion to reappear, twisted and distorted; something of half a human and half a demon like creature.
Without warning, he retrieved his disk by raising his arm to the sky to catch the falling weapon with ease. His sights set upon the creature and Romeo let out a huff. He wouldn't escape.
"You could get hurt!" He threw back into Adriel's face. Somwhere between the crash of light and the figure appearing before them, Justin's panic had melted away, replaced with a fear unlike anything he'd ever felt. He'd been surrounded by magic from his adoptive mother for as long as he could remember, but this wasn't magic...it was something else entirely.
Justin watched in horror as the demonic creature was beheaded by the seemingly even more demonic figure. While they were distracted, he looked back to Adriel, "We have to get out of here. Now."
"Ready?" Justin's heart stopped when the figure had turned its attention to the two of them. "What the fuck are we supposed to do?" @sunkcntrcasurcs
