— helping your partner regress | ldr version ♡
────────────────────────
before we start i just wanna give a little reminder that every single age regressor is different. no matter how many advice posts you read- you will never fully know how to take care of your lil one unless you communicate with them. some regressors don’t baby talk, some don’t play with toys, some act older than others and some act younger than others, some don’t know what age they regress to- they just know they regress, some regressors just sleep the whole time, some regressors aren’t energetic / will actually need you to take care of them not just talk cute to them- meaning they’ll need you to do literally everything for them. some may not need you to do anything, basically- you need to communicate and you need to realize it’s not always like how you see on the internet! being a caregiver is a lot of responsibility 99% of the time and many don’t realize that.
────────────────────────
꒰ 🍵 ꒱ take your time! the biggest mistake people make most times is moving too fast, just go with the flow. you don’t have to immediately start baby talking or immediately go into your cg space.
꒰ 🌿 ꒱ give them little tasks to do / ask them simple questions! this can help your lil one not lose track of their regression by thinking of something else, giving them a task or a question to focus on can help them stay in the moment. like going and grabbing a stuffie to introduce you to them or just grabbing some juice for themselves, maybe asking them what color something is or what show they’d want to watch!
꒰ 🧃 ꒱ check in on them / have them tell you how old they are feeling! this is just something you should always do but it’s important you know how they are feeling, and they don’t need to know the exact age they regressed you, they can just say they feel “really young or tiny” or “not so tiny”
꒰ 🍵 ꒱ some examples of what you can ask :
“how are you feeling, bub?” or “can you tell me how old / small you’re feeling?”
“can you tell me what color this is, petal?” or “how many circles are there?”
“are you feeling okay still, hun?” or “let me know how you’re feeling.”
“why don’t you grab some water or something to drink?” or “do you think you’re up for a snack, bub?”
and anything like that! for certain things, you should praise them afterwards! something’s may take them lots of effort so letting them know they did a good job can be really nice for them to hear. i just used basic pet names but you can use whatever ones you want or non at all if they make your little one uncomfortable!
꒰ 🌿 ꒱ make them a regression to-do list! this can really help them stay on track with regressing and help them not get distracted. and sometimes babies need some help with remembering certain things so this can help them tons! especially if you may not be around certain times. things like- grab your stuffies, change into comfy clothes, grab some juice, and anything like that! simple and easy. make sure it can work with your little one though before giving it to them, communicate with them on what they’d need.
꒰ 🧃 ꒱ read them a story / record yourself saying things! some people aren’t so comfortable with facetiming which i completely understand so if you don’t want to read a story over facetime, you can record yourself reading and send it to them! or just record yourself saying sweet things throughout the day, you are not required to- i am just giving options! <3
꒰ 🍵 ꒱ help them pick an outfit / guide them through some self-care! this one is just really sweet and soft. in no way shape or form should you force them to wear what they do not want to, this is more of a opinion thing- they can show you some outfit ideas and you can just help them pick! but the decision should be theirs for the most part unless they specifically say that they want you to pick the outfit. and self-care is still super important when regressed so just guide them through the steps! brushing their teeth, washing their face, etc, over facetime or just over text still. it can help them feel really small when having someone help them with basic stuff like that.
꒰ 🌿 ꒱ have them draw you a picture! this one is simple and easy and gives them something to focus on again within their regression! you can give them a specific thing to draw or they can just be a creative bab :]
꒰ 🧃 ꒱ write fake scenarios / role play! this one is not for everyone but i personally think it’s very cute. you could write your own personal concepts and send them to them! like describing a day you’d have together if you could meet or anything like that. or you two could roleplay in general and pretend like you two are together! this is a good idea for when you get a little sad because enough can’t meet or if you both feel lonely.
꒰ 🍵 ꒱ be patient and take care of yourself as well! as a caregiver, you also need to remember your own emotions and needs. if you don’t remember to also care for yourself, you will struggle to show care eventually. if you need breaks, tell your partner, if they can’t understand or make you take care of them anyway- you need to talk about it or you need to leave for your own well-being. and if your partner can’t regress easily, don’t automatically blame yourself. some people have a harder time than others when it comes to regressing! you just need to take it slow and breathe, okay? you are doing great, i promise <3

you have the right to heal your inner child in whatever safe way you wish. your regression is valid and you do not need to justify it to anyone. you know your body and your mind best.
Anyone else feel kinda small when you sit somewhere high up and do the little swinging thing with your feet?
Giving forehead kisses to the littles who:
-struggle to express how the feel, deal with emotional dyregulation
-struggle to find comfort and safeness with being little
-have a hard time talking when little
-don’t have a cg
-try and be little but they cry
Miss. Sana is here for you sweeties ❤️

[ 💧 🧸 ] tips for helping an insecure regressor ! !
sometimes i get super duper worried that my caregiver is uncomfortable with my regression , so i thought it’d be useful to caregivers / sitters / flips to have some tips on helping manage a self—conscious regressor !
— instead of simply reassuring them , treat them like a little / however they would like to be treated ! while reassurance can be helpful , in my opinion , actions are much more comforting
— in worse situations ( breakdowns / tantrums / etc. ) give them activities to do ! coloring pages are very nice for me , but if it’s something you can do in person together , i would recommend text—based tasks like having them tell you about their day , about their interests , anything really ! this might not seem like much , but being given little commands can help us feel very connected to being a regressor !
— similar to the previous one , give them a checklist ( this can work in person or over phone / text ) . this is a more general piece of advice , but it will help take their mind off of the worry and will help them feel accepted & taken care of !
— the most obvious one : talk about it with them . this is an easier thing to do when they are big ( not regressed ) , but having them explain , or try to explain , why they feel insecure can be very very helpful in your methods of reassuring them as well as taking some heaviness off of them ( talking does help ! )
reminders for regressors 🌟
your regression is not weird, gross, or wrong
it’s ok if your regression isn’t “aesthetic” like you see online
you don’t need a caregiver if you don’t want or can’t find one
it’s ok if you experience involuntary regression or if regression isn’t a good experience for you
you don’t have to tell anyone about your regression if you don’t want to
it’s ok if you can’t get or don’t want any agere gear
you’re valid if you regress to an older child or teen
it’s ok if you don’t regress often, or if you prefer being a caregiver
you’re valid if you can regress really easily, or if it’s really difficult for you to regress
you don’t have to “grow out” of regressing, and you will never be too old to regress
your regression is unique to you, and there’s no wrong way to experience it
