The Dragon and The Little Bird
Aerion Targaryen x oc! female character
summary: She came here as a guest to the Targaryen family, but everyone knew it was to secure a betrothal.
The plan was simple, charm Prince Daeron, make him agree to a marriage. Live the rest of your life alone and in peace.
But wherever Marislle went, she could never find Prince Daeron. Even worse wherever she went, Prince Aerion found her. It was as if he knew the worst possible moment to show up.
Chapter 16 - Burn Together
Mariselle hid herself in her chambers for the rest of the day. After she had dried herself and wiped the tears away, she got dressed in a new gown.
The message from her parents was soaked as well but still readable. She put the note on her nightstand, delivering it the next day would spare her having to face Maekar in her current state.
She spent the rest of the evening staring absently at a game of chess.
The sun was gone when someone stormed into her chambers, throwing the door shut behind them with a loud bang.
“Why are you here.” She tried to look calm and collected. But she was never calm and collected in his presence.
He took some steps farther into the room but stopped when she rose up from her seat.
Still a distance between them.
“Why are you doing this.” his voice trembled.
He looked broken. For the first time she saw a resemblance with his brother.
“Doing what?” She tried to avoid his gaze, looking at the stonefloor beneath her feet.
“Marrying Daeron.” She flinched at his words.
To hear it spoken out loud, it sounded wrong.
It was wrong. She knew it, he knew it as well, that’s why he was here.
“The reason I came to Summerhall was to secure a betrothal to Daeron or have you forgotten.” she tried to argue but she wasn’t sure which one of them she was trying to convince.
The air felt thick and heavy, making it harder to breathe for both of them.
She looked at him, her eyes found his. They mirrored each other, both red and filled with tears.
The world started to look blurry.
He kicked the nearest table across the room. The things that had sat on top of it scattered across the floor.
The sound of wood hitting stone filled the silence between them for a moment.
“BUT YOU DONT WANT DAERON. YOU KNOW THAT, I KNOW THAT EVEN HE KNOWS THAT.” he yelled, his eyes dark and filled with fury.
Seeing him so angry made her realise how long it truly had been since she saw him get this angry at her, If he ever had at all.
Her hands reached for her goblet, she threw it at him.
“It doesn’t matter what I want!” her voice was fragile, furious and filled with desperation.
She looked around to see what else was in her reach that she could throw at him. Fruit on a platter was hitting his chest one by one. After that the plate flew past him.
He didn’t flinch once. She was panting, when he took a step towards her.
“I have to marry.” A tear fell from her eye. Her voice sounded weak, she wasn’t explaining, she was pleading.
His burning anger had weakened back to a small flame. He straightened himself, standing tall as he took a deep breath.
He watched her, waiting for a reaction. Her heart broke at his words, they stung, because it was no use, it was too late.
“I will challenge my brother to a trial by combat if I have to. I will not be happy to kill him, but I would do it.”
He took another step towards her.
“Because your last fight went so well.” she half whispered, but it still cut through the air to hit.
The fire was back in his eyes. His mouth turned into a mocking smile. He took the last step, now standing right in front of her. His fingers reached out taking a strand of her hair.
“Well, maybe I lost because the favor I was given was too weak,” he came closer to her face, his eyes locked onto hers.
“Maybe you should have given me a real kiss.” he sounded cruel.
Anger rose in her chest. She took a step back from him.
“I am engaged, Aerion.” she hissed. As high as honour, she repeated the words over and over again in her mind.
“Then say it. Say you want him and not me.” his low voice filled the air between them.
Her breath caught in her throat. Her eyes burning with tears. She had never lied to him, why should she start now.
So she said nothing, her teeth pressed together.
“You cannot hide, not from me Mariselle.”
He took another step forward.
His eyes rolled at her action. He moved quickly and grabbed her to lift her up over his head. Holding her thighs in a firm grip.
It reminded her of the dance, that they once shared.
His purple eyes glowed in the dim light, looking up at her. She was unable to look away. His grip on her hips was tight and secure. Her heart was beating fast and loud, her whole body trembled.
“Say it,“ he pleaded, his breath came out shaking
“Put me down. Please Aerion.” the words fell from her lips like the tears from her eyes.
“A dragon doesn’t take orders.” he whispered.
“It does from its rider.” she shut her mouth in horror of the words that she just uttered.
A devilish grin grew on his face.
She shook her head. Her cheeks burning hot with embarrassment.
“No, I didn’t mean it like that.” she begged.
Her heart hammered in her chest, she was lost in his eyes, she saw the fire in him, the heat prickled her skin but it didn’t burn. Her lips parted to let out a shaky breath.
“I didn’t mean it like that.” she whispered.
He let her down slowly. His hands gliding over her thighs to her back. She landed on her feet, pressed against him.
Their faces inches apart.
She searched his eyes, they were filled with desire
She took a deep breath, only to realise that it wasn’t air she needed. Her lips crashed into his, closing the distance between them.
It was fast and rough. They bit and pulled at each others lips. His hand came to cup her face, holding her firm in place as his tongue slipped into her mouth. Both fighting for dominance before she surrendered.
For something so wrong, it felt so right to her.
She pushed him back, they both stumbled a step backwards. The air prickled with tension as they both tried to find their breath again.
He had this look on his face again. As if she had stolen his last breath.
She stared at him, her brows slightly pulled together. There was also this aching feeling inside her again, that pulled her to him at all times.
And she was tired of resisting it. She wanted to go into the fire.
Her feet carry her towards him as she cupped his face and pulled him into a kiss again.
Melting into each other once again. It was still rough but more passionate. His hand traveled into her hair pulling it softly.
Her hands rested around his neck, her fingers playing with his hair. It was soft, as they combed through it, making Aerion moan softly into her lips.
They pull each other as close as they can, leaving no space between them.
His other hand traveled up her back to losen the strings of her gown. She let out a soft gasp when it slid from her shoulders to drop at her feet.
Leaving her in only her undergown and her corset.
They pulled away from each other. Catching their breath. Their heads still rested against eachother.
She felt hot, her hands and legs slightly shaking. His fingers brushed against her chin, tiling her head to face him.
“Do you want to stop?“ he whispered, “To preserve your honour?” he grinned with his flushed lips. His eyes filled with hunger looking at her, as if only she could save this starving man.
Her hand came to caress his cheek, “Fuck honour. Fuck duty,” She found him in the fire of his eyes,
She didn’t care who stood before her the man or the dragon. Both of them belonged to her. She needed them both. She wanted them both.
“I want to burn with you.” she breathed.
His eyes glowed, he let out a low moan.
He pulled at her corset, capturing her in a kiss. This time it was slower, more gentle. He left kisses along her jaw, nibbling at her earlobe.
A soft moan escaped her lips.
He ripped at her corset rough, then turned her around. Her back now pressed against his chest.
He started kissing her neck, biting and leaving marks on her skin wherever he pleased.
His hands wandered to the corset,he pulled the strings open and threw it to the side. Now free to wander over the soft fabric of her undergown.
One hand travelled, his fingers caressing the outline of her breast before he squeezed it, causing her to moan again.
The other hand slowly ghosted over the thin fabric beneath her bellybutton. Sending a shiver through her body.
Her breath came out trembling.
She felt his heart beating against her back, it was as fast as hers. But she felt something else as well.
She broke free from his grip, turning back around to face him. Her hands fiddled with his belt and took it off.
His breath was heavy now.
She undid all the buttons of his shirt, as his gaze burned into her. He took his shirt off and threw it in some corner of the chamber.
She let her eyes travel across his shirtless chest. His scares had completely healed up. His body looked like one of those statues from the gardens, but when she let her fingers run across his skin, it felt warm and soft.
She met his gaze, looking at his face, she saw the blush across his cheeks.
He cupped her face, kissing her sweet and gentle. His tongue slipped into her mouth with ease.
His hands traveled down her body to lift her up in one swift motion. Their lips staying together as he carried her over to the bed.
He let her down to her feet slowly. Their eyes meet again, filled with a wild fire.
His fingers ran through her hair, ghosting over the skin on her neck. He took the edges of her undergown that cover her chest and ripped it clean open.
It dropped to the floor, leaving her to stand bare before him.
His eyes wandered over her body, making her cheeks burn hot. She looked away with embarrassment.
A chuckle escaped his lips, he tilted her face back to him, he pressed a kiss to her cheek. Then captured her lips again in a kiss.
He lifted her up to lay her down onto the soft silk.
Sprawled across her bed, she watched as he took off his pants. Heat pouring between her legs.
He started to kiss along her leg, making his way slowly up to her inner thigh. Stopping between her legs.
He paused for a moment, watching her from this position. She heard her heart pounding in her ears.
He then let his tongue slide along her core, making her moan at the sensation, her hands gripped the sheets for support.
He kissed and sucked at her soft skin. Wetness pooling out of her. She felt his grin against her.
His tongue circled around her sweet spot, sending waves of pleasure through her body. She closed her eyes after more moans left her lips.
He travelled up her body, leaving marks everywhere.
She felt surrounded by fire, but the flames only kissed her skin. He gripped her thighs and waist hard his fingers dug into her skin, as if he wanted to burn his handprint onto her.
“Say it again.” he whispered against her skin, as he kissed and slowly traced his tongue around her nipple.
“I want you.” she moaned, her fingers going through his hair, gripping it for support.
He kissed up her neck along her jaw. Resting his forehead against hers.
“Marry me.” His breath trembled, as his eyes tried to find hers. They watch each other, both burning bright.
She cupped his face and pressed a tender kiss to his mouth. His hand travelled between her legs, his thumb teasing her sweet spot.
The feeling made her weak, she moaned against his lips and then bit down on them.
He steadied them, his eyes locked onto hers, she drew a sharp breath when he slid into her.
He held her face, his eyes soft “I need you to be mine.” he whispered almost begging her.
He slowly began to slowly thrust his hips into her. It was a strange and new sensation. It had hurt a little, but the feeling of him so close was all she desired.
Some moments passed and it began to hurt less and feel more and more like pleasure she had never felt before.
“Marry me.” he whispered against her skin, pressing wet kisses everywhere.
Only soft moans came from her lips, as he thrusted again and again.
“Marry me.” he whispered. His breath hot against her ear.
He captured her lips with his again, she bit down rough on his lip, he let out a low moan causing her to smile.
He started to thrust harder into her causing her to moan louder. Her eyes rolled back into her head, her nails dug into his shoulders holding onto him for support.
He picked up the pace, making them both moan. She clawed into his skin pulling him closer to her.
He kissed along her neck.
“Only mine to torment,” he groaned, kissing her cheek he found her eyes again, “Only mine to fuck,”
he pressed a soft kiss to her lips, hovering over them, “Only mine to love.”
He pushed deeper hitting her core, she felt the knot inside her coming undone. She arched her back. Her core pounded and send an exhilarating feeling through her whole body.
He captured her mouth with his, as she let out her final moan, as if the sound belonged to him and he needed to devour it. He grabbed her skin hard when he finished inside of her.
They breathed heavy, eyes never leaving each other. Their skin was covered in sweat as he pulled himself off her.
They lied next to each other in silence for a moment, staring at the ceiling as they tried to catch their breath.
She turned her head to face him, to find that he was already looking at her.
His fingers came up to play with one strand of her hair. He watched her face seemingly lost in thought.
“Even if you marry him. I don’t care. I will be your fucking mistress if that is the only way I can have you.” his voice was soft but clear.
Mariselle felt her heart drop.
She could never marry Daeron, not if her heart was here, resting softly in his palm. She wondered, how long it had been there.
She turned her whole body towards him shuffling closer to him. One of his arms wrapped around her, holding her close, pressed against him.
His touch firm, as if he was scared she would slip away.
Her fingers went through his hair, then cupped his face gently, her thump caressed his cheek.
“Mariselle, please. I beg you,” he whispered into her hand,
She bit her lip, watching him. He looked so harmless right now. No hard edges that could cut. Only the fire that warmed them both.
“Is it because you can’t have me?” she wondered.
He raised one brow and let out a soft chuckle.
“Well I had you right now, did I not?”
She smacked gently against his chest but he only pulled her closer again. He placed a soft kiss on her lips.
He rested his forehead against hers.
“You are the only one who doesn’t get burned by my fire, you revel in it. As if you were made only for me.” his breath tickled her checks.
He started to gently bite and kiss her neck again.
“I am not something to be possessed.” she protested, pushing him away from her to meet his eyes.
A smug smile came across his lips.
“No, you are not. And you will gladly fight everyday to prove it. And I will gladly bleed and bleed by your hand.” he pushed her hair behind her ears.
He let his hand rest against her flushed face, his thumb caressing her cheek.
“Tell me, do you want to be with me.”
She smiled at him. He looked so unsure in himself it made her giggle. She kissed the tip of his nose, planting many kisses all over his face.
She leaned in to whisper in his ear.
“You have set me on fire with your flames, Aerion.” the words felt like an another kiss.
“And have I burnt you?” he whispered back leaving a small trail of kisses on her shoulder in return.
“No, you lit my world in a new light and warmed me ever since.” she smiled into his side.
He cupped her face, his eyes taking in every detail of her face.
“Marry me.” he asked in a serious tone.
Her heart burned in her chest. The words in her throat got stuck on their way out.
“Marry me.” he pleaded again. His eyes and voice filled with desperation.
He kissed her, his lips graced gentle against hers.
“Marry me, Mariselle. Be mine forever. And I will be yours.”
He was lost in the fire. The one he had started. It had taken everything around him. And then there was her. She had found him, between the flames.
She found the man she loved.
“Yes,” she whispered, “I will marry you.“
A tear fell from her cheek. He captured it with a kiss.
They held each other close for hours, kissing and whispering.
