I just love how well Blake and Yang work together?

Like, even when they first team up in the Emerald forest. Ruby and Weiss don’t get along at all and Pyrrha and Jaune end up in the wrong place, but Blake and Yang? They make it to the temple with no problems and even comment on how easy it was. Ren and Nora are the only other pair to reach the temple with minimal complications, but unlike everyone else they’ve known each other for years. Then you have Blake paying attention to her partner and actually picking up on her moment of pride.

During the Nevermore battle Blake specifically seeks out Yang and talks to her about the enemy’s durability (and considering Weiss’s comment in the previous episode about communicating during an encounter this emphasizes how well Blake and Yang work as a team). There’s never any fumbling between the pair, and considering some of the things they pull off in their first fight together that’s pretty damn amazing.

And y'all, I could write so much on Gambol Shroud.

Yang is the only person we ever see touch Gambol Shroud besides Blake herself, and it isn’t just a one time thing. They use it for the slingshot trick in Players and Pieces, and they use it to throw Yang at their problems in Painting the Town and Round One, and every time there is no verbal communication between them. Ruby calls out their team attack in the volume two example, but even then they’re in sync enough that they don’t have to say anything (and considering Yang is catching a sharp object while she herself is being hurled though the air that’s really impressive).

And the fact that Yang’s the only person that touches Gambol Shroud gets a lot more interesting if you remember Ruby describing weapons as “an extension of ourselves! They’re a part of us!”…I’m not saying Yang’s the only person Blake trusts to be that close to her but Yang’s the only person Blake trusts to be that close to her
