Simon nodded, his gaze meandering from Wille’s eyes down to his lips. This was the first time they had truly been alone in days. Wille’s speech, and the subsequent media firestorm that followed it, had resulted in Royal Court representatives occupying the Eriksson kitchen twenty four seven for the last week and a half, eating Polvorosas cookies and drinking coffee on the premise of providing security and shooing away the press. Loud video game noises weren’t really much cover against all of that. The way Wille was looking at him now made his cheeks flush with heat.
“OK,” Wille took his hand, “come here.”
He started to lead Simon through a doorway, but Simon let his hand drop, glancing nervously over his shoulder.
“What’s wrong?”
“My mom,” Simon gestured towards the other room, the room they had been shut out of while the ‘grown ups’ discussed their fate.
“They won’t start without us, Simon.”
