Royal Wedding Series. PT. 1 ~ The Proposal (AU Flashback Zacsilla)
He laughed quietly with her, pulling her slightly closer to him, the warmth of her body making him feel at home like he always did when he was around her. They could be at the other side of the world, and he still felt at home if she was with him. She was his home. “Your breath is fine. And you look beautiful, but that’s nothing new, is it?” he complimented her sincerely, like he always did.
"Of course I’m fancy. Nobody’s fancier than me. Not even your Queen." he stated jokingly. British people and their royalty… wait. Sometimes he forgot Priss was a royal. Mostly because she wasn’t that much of a snob, not at all around him. It was because to him she was a normal girl. He loved her for her, not for her title, in fact he couldn’t have cared less about that. Hell, he would’ve loved her just the same if she were a Target cashier.
With a smile still on his face as they sat up on the couch, he got ready to start talking. It was better if he just said it once and for all, instead of mumbling around. But that was proving to be a lot easier said than done.
He cleared his throat. “So. You know I love you, right? Like, you don’t have any doubts about that, am I correct?” he asked. He really wished he was making her feel loved in their relationship, because that’s what she deserved. And because she was, in fact, very much loved. Too much.
She was his weakness and there was no doubt about it.
"I’m… I’m… fuck. I’m so crap at words. I’m sorry." he said, already getting frustrated at the fact that he couldn’t seem to gather the right words to say, even if he had rehearsed this moment in front of the mirror about a billion times. "I love you with all my heart Priss. And I don’t know how, or why, but for some reason, you decided to love me back. And I want to make sure you know that that is the best thing that has ever happened to me." he said, his mind racing inside his head and his palms starting to sweat.
"All my life has always been a lie. Most of my friends are a lie. My parents’ marriage is a lie. My love life was a lie. I was trained to lie since I was 7, by my PR agent. He taught me how to be a professional liar. And now I am. And I never thought much of it. Until I met you, and for the first time I felt the need to stop hiding what I feel. I needed to tell you who I am and what I think and what I have to say. Because you really do care. And I care about you like I’ve never cared about anything else in my life. And I love that. I love you. And I want you. Forever." he said, pausing for a second to catch his breath now that he was content with the words that had came out. So then he took from his jacket’s pocket the little velvet box and opened it up, showing a diamond ring.
It wasn’t extremely big and flashy, again. His engagement was something real to him. He wasn’t doing it to feed any tabloids. They didn’t need an extravagant big ass ring. But then again, it was real diamonds and gold.
And then it was time to speak again. This was it. He couldn’t wait any longer. “So, Priss. Will you, once again, make me the happiest man in the world, by becoming my wife?” he said, tears in his eyes starting to show. Why the fuck did he have to be so sensitive?
He asked if she knew that he loved her and Priss couldn't help but let out a light laugh, nodding. Of course she knew he loved her. They've been together for years. Zac was really the only person she could stand and she loved spending every second with him whether it be in bed making love or at some boring meeting, thumb wrestling under the table. "And you're right. You're the fanciest, baby. You give the Queen a run for her money," she teased with a grin.Â
Yes, she also knew that Zac was bad at words. Sometimes he even had trouble ordering his dinner which Priss thought was just adorable. There she'd be at some world famous restaurant with him, ordering her 'Crema di Scampi soup and Filetto di San Pietro with a side of truffle fries' and Zac would sit there until Priss could help him order. Of course there were those days when he acted like he owned the world and he was just bursting with confidence. She loved every side of him.Â
The more he talked, the more she just wanted to snuggle with him. He was the sweetest person to her and so closed off to nearly everyone else. She remembered when they first met. He was trying to get laid with her within the hour and Priss wanted nothing to do with him. The sure did change though. After their constant bantering and teasing, they fell in love. And Priscilla was certain that they would always be in love.Â
Zac kept talking, and the more he spoke, the less she thought that this was about a business or movie deal. This was serious. He was going to propose. Right then, her hear started pounding and her cheeks started turning a light pink tint. And him reaching into his pocket only to pull out that velvet box only proved it.Â
The blonde was already beginning to tear up with a huge smile on her face, her right hand over her mouth as she processed this. The ring wasn't flashy or big. It was perfect though. He knew her. Then he asked the question which Priscilla instantly nodded to. "Yes...Yes, oh my God, yes." And right then, she leaned forward and kissed Zac with all the love in the world resting her hand on his cheek and smiling at his lips.Â
When she pulled away, she sniffled then wiped away a tear from her cheek that was beginning to fall, her smile permanent on her lips. This was perfect. She couldn't have imagined a better proposal. This came from Zac, just for her. It wasn't some publicity thing, it was real. When the ring was on her finger, she looked down at it in disbelief for a moment before looking back at her new fiancĂ©. "It's perfect, Zac. I love you," she spoke excitedly before kissing him once again.Â
