“Well, all right then,” Jimin replied. He began removing his shoes at the door and picked them up before stepping over the threshold. He bowed his head slightly at the taller male with a thank you, placing his oxfords by the door.
“How long have you lived here?” he asked as he looked up at the other male. “I know this complex is pretty big, which makes sense why we’ve never met before. I’ve been here for…oh wow…I think it’s been about 3 years now?”
Yes, it’s really been a while – Jimin vaguely recalled having to move off campus when Housing couldn’t find room for him or a majority of the upperclassmen, due to a large incoming class of freshmen. He had put out a call for a roommate, but only hosted another exchange student briefly before joining Kingsman. In order to keep things private about work, Merlin arranged to have Jimin’s apartment taken care in his perks of so he wouldn’t have to find someone to split the costs with. He didn’t mind living alone given the turn of events he’s been through, but every now and then it was lonely coming home to an empty apartment with no one to talk to.
Remembering where he was, Jimin checked his watch. “If it’s possible, do you have something decaf to drink? I’ll take water if that’s all you have, but I probably shouldn’t be drinking coffee this late at night.”
chanyeol steps back into his home once his hero finally decides to join him, and gently closes the door behind himself, said feature a u t o m a t i c a l l y locking the two of them within the confines of the complex with an audible click. he nods his head at jimin’s thanks, and takes brief notice of the oxfords he places next to the entrance with a tilt of his head.
“ whoa, three years.. ? no wonder - ” a sound of admiration leaves parted lips as he pushes himself to the table he previously dropped his mail off at, slender fingers immediately picking at the small, pink parcel he was dangerously concerned about earlier given he had not ordered no more than what jimin had properly d e l i v e r e d to him; though, he tried to make his uneasiness as muted as possible the moment he found something addressed to him using his online alias. “ i’ve only been here fooor...the last few months - ? ” he admits almost absentmindedly, flipping the piece over once, and then again looking for the name of the sender or even where it came from. after a couple seconds of d i g g i n g through the possibility of how the package made it to him, he perks and turns back to jimin to consider his request.
“ oh ! no worries, i should have somethin’ for you to drink - ” he swiftly moves himself to the kitchen, a v o i d i n g the corners of the marble island planted in the middle of the area so he can get to the fridge and cabinets without injury. “ i haaaave pink lemonade and fruit juices - ” chanyeol informs, closing the fridge and patting the counter. “ if you want any other flavors not in there, though, i can mix you somethin’ else ~ ” the boy had plenty of those small, powdery packets and large cans of flavors he mixed whenever he was on the go or too lazy fill his pitchers with water; “ ah ! and i have tea ~ ” he even opens the cabinet above his microwave to prove such by p u l l i n g from it a green, elegantly decorated box of teabags. “ green, oolong, I can even make it sweet, if you’d like; of course, i have water, too - and coffee, but it is late and it’s not decaf - ” he finishes his mini tour with a subtle, sad pout, hoping that what he has to offer will go with his new friend’s t a s t e ; he makes a mental note to purchase decaf in the future if it means said man coming back over -
“ are you not able to drink decaf at night.. ? ” he let his curiosity pick his words for him, not considering the fact that perhaps jimin preferred decaf so he could s l e e p or maybe he had to be s o m e w h e r e early the next morning. typical of chanyeol -
