Her first reaction was to wonder if she’d done something to get in trouble, which left her a bit confused. As far as she knew, she hadn’t done anything..at least, not today anyway. But the teacher didn’t seem like she was about to go into lecture mode, so maybe she just wanted to talk? Which was…also a little odd, if Fetch was being honest.
People normally didn’t approach her. Not a lot, anyway. Though no matter how unused to it she was, she supposed she couldn’t just say no and leave. It wasn’t like she had anything else to do, besides another class, and homework but she was in no hurry to get to that any time soon.
So heaving a sigh as she shouldered her bag, she approached the teacher as everyone else left–knowing they were probably thinking she was in trouble for something. Oh well. Being known as a troublemaker was nothing new anyway.
“What’s up, teach?” she asked, tilting her head to the side. “Was I doodlin’ too much during the lesson?”
the renegade looked to the leaving classmates for a moment before returning her eyes back to fetch as the room was emptied. she let out a soft chuckle at her student’s assumption, bare hand raising up to cover her mouth. with a shake of her head, li-ming’s hand returned to reside on the desk to play with the baton she utilizes to channel her abilities. ❝ absolutely not, fetch. doodle as much as you want in my class, as long as you get your work done. ❞ she put an extra little bit of emphasis on the last part of her statement, head tilting to add an extra point of notice.
having often felt oppressed and walled in by her teachers in the past, she preferred to give her students a feeling of freedom in her course. so long as they didn’t throw a fit if their grade reflected their ignorance of the subject matter.
now came the difficult part, though: attempting to befriend a student of hers. li-ming was usually quite good at befriending people, but adding on a layer of authority made it a tad more difficult. even if neither party thought about it, there would always be some sort of struggle for power. she hoped that they could avoid worrying about that, once they get past the awkward first few stages of friendship.
❝ i wanted to ask how you’ve been feeling since coming to the academy. since i’m teaching about hiraeth, i’d like to know what sort of impact the school has on its new students. ❞
