Our Design Principles
*Design should reflect a makers feelings and values
*In order to provoke desired values, empathetic design is vital.
*An item or artifact should be both environmentally and culturally sustainable and must consider longevity and methods of disassembly
*All use of material should be thoroughly justified to be sure of it’s use
*There isn’t always a single finite solution and as a designer we must explore the multitude of possibilities and invite people to reflect on our interpretation

Project Maison - In the hopes of sourcing most of our soft surface through scraps, we reached out to the school Cégep Marie-Victorin fashion department. Every year, the textile scraps that do not get used by the students are kept and put aside waiting to be reclaimed. Our trip to the college resulted in finding canvas, felt, wool, cotton, silk -chiffon, fur, etc.
The textiles will to be used to make cushions/ pillows to compliment the sofa.
Project Maison - Prototyping
Project Maison - Blackboard group brainstorming activity where we reflect on forms and composition of shapes.
