Nada was a fifth year med student studying in Egypt when she went back to visit her family in Gaza for the summer and was subsequently trapped under the Israeli occupational regime. Although her family were able to evacuate to the south, it is no longer safe for them- sleeping 40 people to a tent, they suffer from insect bites, lice, severe aches and pains and have even suffered from cholera due to infected water. Nada’s sister lost 20kg due to malnutrition after Israeli bombs destroyed a home she went into debt to build. Their father suffers from lower limb swelling from causes that are currently unknown and requires medical attention and lab investigation that he is unable to access in their camp. Despite living through the face of all these horrors and suffering from the loss of all they held dear to them, Nada’s family hold out hope that they will be able to cross the Egyptian border in order to escape the genocide and for Nada to return to her schooling again. However, costs are high at 5000 USD per person to cross safely.
Nada’s family are so close to their goal, with €237,931 raised of their €240,000 target.
Please, if you can spare even $1 to the plight of Nada and her family then consider doing so- truly, even the smallest amount helps more than you can ever know.
