A/N: This is one of the first fics that I wrote for this series, which is coincidentally the last song on the album. It was also the song that inspired me to write this series in the first place. I hope you like it .x

Fred Weasley was running down the streets of Diagon Alley, entering every jewelry store he could find in search for the right ring. Tears were forming in his eyes at the thought of marrying you, at the thought of being able to call you his wife.
His parents had called him crazy when he first presented the idea to them. They were adamant about changing Fred’s mind or at least have him take time to really think about it. He had known you only for a bloody year and now he’s decided he wants to propose to you? They were furious at the idea to say the least.
‘You didn’t even graduate’ ‘You’ve only just opened your store’ ‘You’re only considering it because of the war’ Were a few of their arguments against the idea. But there was no changing of Fred’s mind - he was sure of it, sure he wanted nothing else but to kneel down on one knee and ask you to marry him.
He didn’t understand why they had to put a price on loving you, like it’s something that can be bought. No, you weren’t that kind of person. You loved him for who he is and he knows that. Godric knows that he could propose to you with a paper ring and you’d say yes in a heartbeat.
You’ve got my devotion but man, I can hate you sometimes...
You were gone, out the door before Fred could even get another word out. Once again, the two of you had been fighting about your role in the war. Fred wanted to keep you safe, to hide you someplace nothing could ever touch you. He wanted to run away.
But you wanted the opposite. You wanted to fight alongside the Order of the Phoenix, alongside Dumbledore’s Army, alongside Harry Potter himself. You will not be left alone in the dark while others fought for your freedom. No, you will fight - and if Fred wants to keep you away then it’s going to cause some trouble.
But it’s been days and he hasn’t heard of anything from you- not even one letter. You didn’t even leave a note to inform him where you’re going. Thinking about it now, Fred starts to understand why his parents were so against the idea of him proposing.
Now that you’re his fiance, he’s gotten a bigger urge to protect you. There’s a much more intimate relationship between the two of you that you can’t quite explain. Not knowing where you are now has caused a deeper pain in his chest than not knowing where you were before. It’s all different. And Fred knows that if anything happened to you, he wouldn’t know what to do with himself.
Truly, he adores your persistence in wanting to fight - your persistence had been one of the things he admired about you when you were still at Hogwarts, but now? Man, now that persistence is getting to his nerves.
I don’t want to fight you and I don’t want to sleep in the dirt...
You were home, sitting across Fred as silence enveloped the two of you. He didn’t know what to say now that you’re back - he didn’t even know what to feel. Should he be mad you’ve left him without a trace? That you’re not even trying to make the first move?
Noticing his eyebrows furrowing, you spoke softly, “I don’t want to fight about this, Fred”
His eyes snapped up towards you, getting a better look at you now after days of being apart. You looked well-rested, he noticed. Maybe spending that time alone actually did you good.
“Make me understand” He mumbled, heart breaking at the sight of tears pooling your eyes, “Make me understand why- why you really want to fight”
“Because it’s the right thing” You replied simply, voice shaking as you fought back the tears. “Because it’s for our future - for our future children if we have any, and their children. It’s what we need to do. I don’t- I can’t just sit in the dark and wait for all of this to be over. It’s cowardly”
“(y/n)” His voice cracked. Suddenly, he’s making a move towards you, pulling you into his chest, muffling your sobs as you finally broke down in front of him, “If you want to fight, then we shall fight. I’ll be with you every step of the way”
“Thank you, Fred”
Test of my patience, there’s things that we’ll never know...
“What’s happening, Fred?” you asked as you sat beside him in his old room in the Burrow, watching as he fiddled with the volume knob of his radio, waiting to hear some news about the whereabouts of Harry, Hermione, and his youngest brother in the newly instated Potterwatch.
He had been so worried about Ron ever since the events at Bill’s wedding. He knows there are stuff he doesn’t tell anyone, stuff that remain confidential between him and his best friends, but that doesn’t mean that they’re all out of danger until they ultimately finish the task Dumbledore had given them.
For now, though, all they had to do is to sit quietly and listen to Lee Jordan speak with Kingsley Shacklebolt on the events in their community, waiting for the right time to attack.
Little did you know that moment was the calm before the storm.
Crisp trepidation, I’ll try to shake this soon...
You were beginning to regret this - beginning to regret the decision of fighting. But it’s too late now. You can’t back down now that you’re in a duel against two Death Eaters who want nothing more than to take your life. You can’t even afford to think about backing down - your concentration should be focused on them, making sure no harm came your way.
“(y/n)!” You heard Fred scream from somewhere around you. Your eyes darted everywhere, trying to look past the simultaneous duels happening to see him being backed against a corner by three Death Eaters.
You were quick to rush to him, shouting spells towards the three along the way as he snuck out of the corner. Everything happened too fast, even for him. One moment you were running towards him, the next, you were screaming for him to watch out.
Everything went dark after that.
We’ll be alright...
Your eyes stared blankly at the wall across you as you sat in the corner of the Great Hall, trying to process the recent events that just occurred. Everything happened far too fast to the point where now you didn’t really knoe how to react.
One moment you were running towards Fred, they the next you see him lying under a pile of rubble, dust covering his face entirely. You had cried out for George to help you move him out of there, keep him out of harm’s way as the battle ensued, and you did - moving him behind a statue, as you set out to help a group of first years running from a group of snatchers.
You went looking for him when everything calmed - when Harry had left to go to the Forbidden Forest. He wasn’t behind the statue where you had left him before, and upon searching the Great Hall he wasn’t there as well. But that doesn’t necessarily mean he was okay.
Now that the Battle has concluded, your fiance was still nowhere in sight. At this point, you’ve practically searched the whole castle for him but it was to no avail.
“(Y/n)?” You heard his voice call out. Your eyes darted around the room at the sound of it before it landed on him.
He was limping, blood dripping down his temple - but he was okay.
Rushing from your seat, you ran towards him, dodging everyone along the way as you rushed to his side. You pulled him towards you as soon as he was close enough, finally allowing your tears to fall as you practically shouted to the whole castle how much you loved.
“Where have you been?” You sniffled out, stepping aside to allow George and the rest of the Weasleys to pull him into an embrace.
They were all watching your interaction now, Molly and Arthur’s initial skepticism flying out the window completely as soon as they saw the way you looked at each other. Without second thought, you pulled him into another hug again, allowing yourself to melt into his arms as he held you as tight as he can.
“We’re fine, baby” He cooed in your ear as he ran a hand through your tangled hair comfortingly, “We’re fine. We’ll be alright”

It was a dark time in the Wizarding World, uncertainty hung thick in the air coating every surface like a stain you just can’t remove. The Order was working overtime trying its best to not only stay one step ahead of Voldemort and his followers but also to protect the populations threatened most by the war. There were few younger witches and wizards eager and willing to help, you being one of them. You’d worked closely with Bill for a while now — you’d been friends since your early years at Hogwarts — so when Shell Cottage was handed over to him, the two of you were assigned to turn it into a safe house for friends and family of the Order. Neither of you knew the full extent of what that was going to entail but you accepted regardless and found yourselves on the steps of the Weasley’s former vacation cottage.
“We spent a lot of time here in our childhoods, we’d visit my Aunt and run wild on the beach instead of in the Burrow for a change,” Bill mused, unlocking the door as he threw it open.
“You lot? Running wild? Hard to believe,” you teased, following Bill into the house.
Morning. Light streamed through your poorly protected windows and drawn bed curtains, illuminating the dorm room, signaling it was time for you to wake. You shifted uneasily in your bed, not quite ready for the day ahead of you after the events of last night. Were you being dramatic? The ordeal would have seemed fairly insignificant to a stranger’s eye, but they didn’t know you, they didn’t know Cedric and they didn’t know your relationship. What may seem insignificant to them could hold weight like no other over your shoulders to you. And this was doing just that. What would Cedric be like today? PAIRING: James Potter x Reader
SUMMARY: A misunderstanding that spiraled into something bigger has the potential to ruin even the best relationships

Dread filled your stomach as you stood outside your house, fumbling with the key in your hands. It’s been a week since you’ve last been here, a week since you packed up your belongings in a haste, leaving in the middle of the night. And honestly? It’s taking everything right now for you not to walk away without doing what you actually came here for.
But you have to do it, The voice in the back of your head reasoned out, just as you took a step back.
Well, the voice was right. All your important documents were in your old bedroom, together with some other objects you didn’t have the chance to pack. Besides, James should be at work right now, if not with Sirius, so you have all the time you need to clear the house..
Mustering up all the courage you had in you, you stuck your house key into the doorknob, holding your breath as you twisted it open.
You were met with the silence, your living room looking like nothing happened just a week prior to now. Yet you know all of them remained upstairs in your bedroom.
“You’re home” A voice breathed out, causing you to jump slightly in surprise. You turned to see James peering up at you from the sofa, where pillows and a blanket lay around it - he must’ve slept there the entire time. His eyes caught on to your observing ones, lips moving into a shy and cautious smile, “I, uhm, I’ve been waiting for you to come back”

Your eyes widened when you saw how crowded this house was. Redheads running everywhere as you tried to find the man who hired you - Ron Weasley. He finally spotted you standing near the doorway, and jogged towards you with a worried smile on his face.
“It gets like this around the Christmas holidays but my wife is upstairs, I could show you the room?”

Cedric didn’t complete his N.E.W.T.s, he didn’t come back to school at all that year. His father had taken him out and away from everything and everyone - just him and his son. Though Harry had experienced a trauma just the same, he admitted he wasn’t hit with the curse like Cedric was. And besides, he had nowhere to leave to. Cedric did, and he’d hardly written to you all summer, despite your endless attempts to write to him. Two letters were the extent of your communication, though you had longed and hoped for more.
Part 1 section 1: First fanfic. Shout out to @elwynnprincess and @thesasscat . Fred and reader enjoy no tile yet You turn the corner down the hall to meet your boyfriend, Hufflepuff fifth year, Austin Cooper in your usual spot. But, when you round the corner, what you saw made you stop in your tracks, there was your boyfriend kissing another girl, his hands running up and down her body. You turn to go, but run face first into a broad chest. You feel strong hands steady you, and look up into the warm brown eyes of your best friend, Fred Weasley. "(Y/n) are you ok?" He asked you, when he saw your red face and rapid blinking. You shook your head, and ran off. Running to the spot you always went to when you needed to be alone, a little space under some stairs by the Hufflepuff common room. You slide down the wall, allowing the tears to fall down your face, pulling your knees up to your chest and wrapped your arms around you knees, tears soaking your skirt.
Part 1, section 2 You feel a gentle hand on your shoulder. " I swear, Cooper, if you came here to apologize, im going to hex you before you can say chocolate frog" you say through shaky breaths. "merlins, remind me not to get in your bad side." You hear and look up to see the oldest of the Weasley twins, your best friend, Fred."(y/n), what happened?" He asks, as he wraps his strong arms around you, pulling you into his chest. The dam broke again and a whole new set of tears poured down your face, telling him what happened. You saw the anger in his eyes flicker just a bit when you told him that Cooper was cheating on you. "but, I shouldn't be surprised, though." You whisper, whipping your nose and eyes on your robe sleeve. "what are you taking about?" "I mean I look okay fred, but, 'm not like that girl. She's beautiful and tall and what am I? Short and ugly." "(Y/n", there's something in his eyes that you have never seen before, when he grabs your face in his hands, whipping the tears away, "don't ever talk about your self like that. Especially around me. You are not ugly, yes, you may be a little on the shorter side, but it's cute, don't let anyone tell you different. She has nothing on your beauty and smarts" Face red from his sudden complement, "Fred, you are just saying that because we are best friends." You tell him, looking at the ground. "no, I'm telling you because I fancy you, (y/n/l/n) I have since I ran into you before we got on the Hogwarts Express, you were starting at the train with pure wonder on your face. That's honestly why I bumped into you, to talk to you." He grabs her chin wipes off her tears and boldly give you a little kiss on the cheek. You look up into his warm brown eyes, both of your faces red, before putting your head on his chest, listening to the rapid beating of his heart. "Why are you so nervous, freddie?" You ask him, as you feel his hands stroke your hair, like he did when you needed to calm down. "Because, I want to kiss you, be with you, but don't know how you would react." He says shyly. " I don't want to ruin what we have, you are way too important to me to loose you." He looks away from you, his eyes, the very eyes that made your breath catch in your chest your first year when he ran into you at the train station. You were standing there, looking at the sleek, beautiful train that was the Hogwarts Express. Someone bumped into you from behind, making you trip over your trunk and falling. "Sorry, didn't mean to make you fall." You hear a voice say, before a strong pair of hands pull you to your feet. That's when you look up. His flaming red hair fell lightly over his warm brown eyes, he had freckles covering his face and a crooked smile. "I'm Fred Weasley." He told you, running a hand through his red hair, making it messier than it already was. "(Y/n)?" Fred's voice broke through your day dream. He was tucking your hair behind your ear, gently rubbing his thumb over your still red cheek. You shook your head, trying to clear your thoughts
Part 1 section 3 "Did I lose you there for a moment?" He asks, chuckling lightly. "Yes, sorry. Thinking back to when we met." You mumble. He chuckles again, pulling you towards his chest again, before you sat up, looking directly into his eyes. "Fred, I fancy you to. Not as long you have liked me though." You tell him, his eyes shooting up in surprise. "so tell me, darling, how long have you liked me?" "Since you punched draco malfoy in the face for calling me a mudblood third year." You tell him, remembering that day, you, fred, his twin brother george, and their friend Lee Jordan were sitting by the great lake, enjoying the warm weather, when you hear a voice behind you, "your think that the Weasleys would have more sense to hang out with a filthy mudblood like her." Before you had time to react, fred was in his feet, walking up to malfoy, anger in his eyes, and punched him in the face, before calling him a git, grabbing your hand and waking off. You tried to act like it didn't effect you infront of malfoy, but once you got in the gryffindor common room, even though you are a Hufflepuff, you were always in the Gryffindor common room because Fred always gives you the new password, your tears broke free. " Aw, come on now, (y/n) don't let that prat hurt you. He's rubbish." Fred whispers in your ear, wrapping you up in his strong embrace as your tears soaked his chest. You saw his face, it staring out as a frown, remembering that he got a week's detention, but then a small smile spread across his face, remembering how you cried in his chest, until you were to tired to cry anymore. He held you as you feel asleep against his chest. "ya, that day was how I knew for sure that I didn't want to one else to hurt you." He told you, putting his other hand on your face. "Freddie, I'm sorry. I never knew. If I did, id never would have gone out with Austin." When you said that name, your heart broke again , feeling like you were about to cry again, looked at the ground. Fred whisperd, " don't feel bad, and I'm going to hex him later for hurting you, I understand, you didn't know my feelings for you." You nodded, staring into his eyes, then down to his lips. He saw you staring, and put this forehead on yours, so you were only inches apart, and looked into your eyes, his famous crooked grin forming on his lips. "why are you smiling like that?" You ask him, nervously giggling. "because, I am going to do something that will make you blush even more than you already do, my little nargle, his pet name for you because you are always playing with the shiny necklace around your neck. " And what would that be, exactly, mr freckles?" You ask, feeling the flush flood into your cheeks again. "This."
A/N- I just wanted to do something Halloween themed, and since @starlightweasley and I were simping over postwar!Draco, I figured why not?? I hope you all enjoy this!
